Ok, why do you get disqualified for pressing accelerate early, when you don't get a warning that will happen?
Ok, other than that, the only other issue is that turning during the race, would be a mistake. You can slightly tap the side arrow keys, and then go spinning in all sorts of directions not even thought possible.
Other than that, it's a fun game, one that needs a healthy dose of "Mr. P's Priceless Polish™", sold in all good medicinal stores.

I have updated the game description to give some instructions. It is allowed in the jam rules to do that. I should have provided instructions but I somehow forgot (getting old and forgetful). I would like to update the game and fix the steering issues and add/fix other stuff but I think I will carry on with my aeroplane game I am making.

I'm a bit of sucker for drag racing games so definitely had a bit of fun. Some instructions would have been a nice addition mostly because I'm not entirely sure why we would ever want to go left or right. The one time I tried to turn just to see what it would do, it launched my car and flipped me immediately. Some more background sounds would help a bit too.

Even though it looks cool, I'm not particularly fond of the AI generated start screen.
The graphics and vehicle models are sick. I like the the crazy stuff you can do when steering erratically

It would be awesome if it remembered the difficulty you selected between runs.
The 3d setup is cool, but manual shifting is needed to create good immersion.

Changing gears should definitely be manual. I wish there was some way to influence the other car.
With some graphics, gameplay, ui, environment, sound and presentation, this could be great.
