I like the graphics! Very nice music too! Very nice game!
Glad you liked our game <3
Music is great, and little nice art polished ! As you said in 2 day : it is impressive you took very few time to make the game. Well done.
Thanks, glad that you liked our game.
Our friend Fatal Exit is to be thanked for the awesome music that he made in 1 days notice :D
Keep tabs on the game, there is more to come post jam ;)
Very nice game took me awhile to figure out how to transition to the next level
Yup that's one issue that we're working on post jam.
As we only had 2 days to make the game, a lot of necessary stuff wasn't implemented yet.
Will fix the issues to post jam release and the game is continuing on development to add more levels and mechanics to tackle in time.
Nice game! i like this graphic
Thank you, glad you liked our game <3
Very good polished game. The graphics are lovely. The gameplay is nice for people who love speedruns. But there is only 1 level. After I gold star all flags, it just show big silver star on top center, clicking the big star doesn't do anything. I don't know how to proceed. Regardless, good job making it mobile-friendly, I played on mobile. Here is my screenshot of stuck situation:
Glad that you liked our game.
There are 3 levels.
You just have to backtrack back to main menu via home button or ESC
then select a new level with left/right.
(On mobile there is a bug that prevents pressing left on some levels, it's fixed in dev version)
The last star is defined via the combined score.
<0.5 Bronze
<0.3 Silver
<0.1 Gold
As your combined time difference was 0.191 it remains as silver.
Thank you for helping me. I gave it another try and gladly enjoyed the other 2 levels. One thing I noticed is there are no indication which flag should we go first. A number text above each flag pole might be enough to do the job for that. All in all, this is really a solid entry.
Yup, that is one thing we've going to reconsider so that the order of the flags is more apparent.
Thank you for your feedback <3
Interesting concept, but I agree with other commenters - it was hard to understand the goal and what “ON the second” means. It wasn’t also very clear that you can select levels with left/right on the main screen. The game itself is very polished, nice graphics, sound effects, and a lot of small things like particle effects on jumps and collisions, gentle screens shake etc. Cool distortion effect at the bottom third of the screen. One suggestion I have is not to use only colors to indicate something (like red/green to add/remove one second) - use also something else like shape.
Thanks for the feedback.
The direction of the particles is also an indicator in case color is not so apparent.
Downwards takes away seconds and upwards gives a second.
It is an interesting concept, although the design is a bit confusing at first, I still liked the visual aspect and the sound effects
Thanks, the confusion came with the time restraint, I only had 2 days to make the game :D
It will be fixed post jam and more levels with effects and more polish will be done too.
This is a really well polished game! Love the concept, its really addictive trying to perfect it.
Absolutely no notes, would love to see more of this game.
Glad you like our game.
There is already much done in the dev version and we've been doing more levels and improvements that are posted public post jam.
Stay tuned <3
The controls feel good and are really great with the animation and sound effects! (Except when the bug kicks in, but that’s no problem in a game jam like this, because we can just reload the game.) The sliding effect when turning feels great! I like the concept, and it got me hooked enough trying to get a perfect score, which isn’t easy.
I didn’t know that the order of the flags matter, so I though it was a bug when nothing happened when I reached a flag. Some number indication on the flags would help (or maybe don’t care about the order, letting the player decide.)
I like that you have mobile control support as well as keyboard support for PC gamers. Maybe you also have controller support, which would really suit this game.
It was a bit difficult to understand the difference between “menu” mode and “play”-mode, because the UI looks almost identical. The music changes, which is a good indicator that something is different, but I think some extra UI changes would make it even more obvious.
These minor critiques aside, I really enjoyed this game. I think it can be released after fixing the bugs and giving the game some more love from you guys, to make it even better. Adding more levels, and maybe a few extra game elements (e.g. add a power up to slow down time,) and you have yourself a complete game ready for release. Good job.
So glad you liked our game.
You are very correct that the difference in menu and game is too similar, that will be fixed later on, as well as the other points you made, took not end will enhance.
I've already made major improvements to the game to be released post jam.
There will be much more time related shenanigans including warps, time dialations and such as well as more mechanics using the water line that is used only as a visual effect now.Just had no time to implement all I wished for to the jam version since I entered only 2 days prior to jam began.
Hm a bug kicks in?
What bug and where?
The «A» button sometimes doesn’t work, and the caharacter sometimes keep jumping constantly.
Yes the A and touch left aren't working on some levels.
It's fixed already in the dev version.
The character jumping constantly is a new one :o
How can that be replicated?
Which browser?
I used Chrome on Mac. I’m not 100% sure how it happened, but I think it happened because I was pressing the UI-buttons and using the keyboard at the same time in window mode (not full-screen mode.) If I press and hold the “up” button in the UI, and drag the mouse outside the window, it happens (I’m not sure if this is what happened when I experienced it the first time.)
Ah, I think I know the issue.
When the cursor goes off screen and you press on some other so that the browser isn't the focused one the last key presses are stuck to their position.
I'll try if I can check the out of focus as well, thanks for reporting this.
So cool, really enjoyed it, one of the games i've enjoyed the most
Glad you liked our game.
There's more to come post jam so keep following ;)
it was nice, require strategie to understand how to get near the 2 s.
Indeed it does, more levels are upcoming with more timey game mechanics.
Glad you liked our game <3
I really like the concept and all around very original. I would agree with other comments that the main mechanics need a little restructuring and clarity. Keep it up!
Glad that you liked our game.
The mechanics are under works to be released post jam and development will continue even after that since the game turned out to be quite enjoyable.
Very cool! I love the speedrun/time race slant of this game!
I'm very confused about the time difference and dashing ON the second. I just do not know what that means.
I feel like this game just begs for a high/low score leaderboard. I would love to see real time how other players did. If you develop this concept a lot more, it would be very awesome to show the high scores as ghost runners while you play just like Mirror's Edge did!
Great that you liked our game.
ON The second means as close to the 2 seconds the better +/-.
The leaderboard was supposed to be there but we ran out of time since we made this game in only 2 days.
Very solid entry! Only problem is that I had some lag in Macbook m1 and the jump was a bit slow to react which made it difficult to get all the stars :(
Great to hear you liked the game, it will be optimized and there will be options to lower effects for more solid response if encountered slow performance.
Great for a 2 Day game. The art and sound is really good :)
Thanks, we had quite fun making it and will continue upon improving and making more levels of it post jam.
At first, I’m a little confused. I wasn’t sure about the order of the flags. Maybe you can add a number to the flagpole to indicate the order of the flags. Also, after passing all the flagpoles, I couldn’t get to the next level.
And I think there is a design that can improve the game experience. There seems like wall at the platform edge, but characters could pass through it. Or some platforms can be modified as jump-through platforms.
Anyway, it's a great game, with geat graphics and music, I like it
Thanks for playing our game.
The information is lacking due to time constraints I started making the game only 2 days before the deadline :D
The next level entry will be available in the next iteration of the game after the jam, just didn't manage to put it there in time.
There will be loads of more time and scene altering effects and shenanigans coming up after the jam.
Try to get all gold stars in all 3 levels, I managed it so it's not that hard for proper platformer players :D
umm i cant play it so far
Hm how so?
Should work on all platforms other than mobile (Because of stupid bug).
It has a bug that mobile left and A key for left isn't working.
Arrow keys work fine.
Select level at the start with right / left
Enter to start / restart level
Esc or home button to go back to main menu.
Nice concept!
Thanks, it was fun to make in the last days of the jam <3
It was super difficult to hit the time on exactly 2 seconds. I figured out that the green beam reduced my current time which helped, but still it was fractions of a second in difference each time. It would be cool if I as a player had the ability to slow down time in order to help me hit the flag at the right moment. Your graphical and audio assets were awesome, it really made the game a coherent experience! Well done! :-)
I hope you have had a great jam, and if you have the time, we would love to hear what you think about our game, Potion Panic.
That is true that the difficulty is tight it is intended as such to give people a challenge since there are only 3 levels on this gamejam version.
Later on there will be many more with more time altering shenanigans.
I'll be sure to try out your game too once I've gotten enough sleep :D
