What a great game, I failed multiple times but continued to played, that's a good sign for a good game, well done.
Thank you, I’m glad you liked it. It is meant to be a little bit challenging, to incentivize player to use time fields :)
enjoyed! nice
The rewind ability is cool. I had fun playing it but it is a bit lag and too long so I didn't finish. The graphics are lovely. Well done making the game within timeframe.
Thank you for playing and feedback!
Very fun to play. The graphics are amazing! Great game!
Thank you, glad you liked it!
Wow very good art ! Polished animation and it seems to be shaders, which are amazing ! Control are pleasant too, and the theme respected, good job ;)
Thank you! Yeah, I wrote one shader for time field effect (available on Github repo) :)
nice job! the game looks and feels good and was fun to play
Thank you!
Outstanding graphics! The animations are very good! Nicely written code! Good job.
Thank you for playing and giving feedback!
Lovely game, good mechanics and theme incorporation.
The movement is a bit slow paced imho, but kind of suits the game play in a manner.
Very well done.
Thank you for feedback! Yeah, the idea was to give the game chill and unrushed vibe, but I may have overdone it :)
This is a great idea, I also wanted to make a game with a similar mechanism at the beginning, but I failed, I’m glad to play it here.
One of the best implementations of the theme I have seen so far. Really makes me fantasize about a Metroidvania where you get all time-based upgrades. I found it really fun I do think requiring a mouse was a poor choice when there are lots of other options for switching weapons. Hope you keep working on this!
Thanks so much for playing and providing feedback! Yeah, not using mouse would definitely saved me some headache, but I though it would be more interesting to give player ability to shoot at arbitrary angles. I actually had more stuff planned for this, but didn’t make it all in time :)
I wanted to clarify that I meant requiring the mouse wheel to switch was a poor choice when there are lots of other options for switching weapons. Hope that makes sense. I thought the aiming with the mouse was intuitive so good one you for that!
Oh, I see what you mean. You can also switch with 1/2 keys instead of mouse wheel.
Very nice game, I really liked it! My only complaint would be that the controls are a bit clunky and the jump is very slow, which makes it a bit frustrating sometimes
Thank you for feedback! Yeah, quite a few people mentioned jump :(
Great game with awesome effects and stunning graphics design. The time-based gameplay was well implemented and added an extra layer of fun to the experience
Thank you for playing and feedback!
Amazing game! Congratulations. Makes cool use of the theme! Some minor inputs:
Thank you for feedback, all valid points. Those icons I drew literally hours before submission deadline :)
Great visual and audio. Enemies are pretty tough but I like how you made the time slow/ stop effects have a wide range so it does not have to direct hit enemies. A lot of strategy and puzzle potential. Well done!
Really beautiful game.
Thank you!
Really cool aesthetics, it really had an interesting vibe I feel. The soundtrack was so fitting with the graphics, well done! I also really like your approach to using time, as a gameplay element and not just a simple timer. If you want to develop your game further, I think you could increase the gameplay feeling a lot with some minor adjustments to jump feel and collision with platforms. I also think that the turrets maybe was a little bit too tough, but I think that depends on what difficulty you want the game to have.
All in all, this was really a very pleasant experience!
Well done and happy jamming <3
Thanks so much for playing and providing feedback! A few people commented on jumps and platforms, so I’ll try to make some improvements after the jam. There are actually two kinds of turrets in the game (slightly different shades), the more difficult one introduced after you pick up “stop time” ability, to encourage player to use it :)
I can't give an honest critique of this game as I dont have a mouse on my laptop lol
I will say, that the vibe is awesome because of the graphics and the music!
Thank you for giving it a try. Sadly, it would be impossible to play without a mouse.
I really enjoyed this game. And the mechanic is actually somewhat similar to what I did in my entry, which I think is fun. In my entry, I freeze time, and you slow it down. I find your mechanic better though :D
I wish the player could go through the platforms from underneath (jumping from below,) because I died many times from hitting the platform.
I also did my entry in Phaser, and I’m going to look at how you made the player follow the platform when standing on top of them. I used matterJS instead of arcade physics, and I didn’t have time fixing it before submitting the game, but I think your entry can help me solve the problem.
Thank you for playing and feedback! I also have time stopping, you pick it up at level 2 and can switch between slowing/stopping time (latter becomes really necessary as you encounter more difficult turrets) :) Sadly, platforms don’t work great with arcade physics either. One issue is that while on platform, player velocity is set to 0 which prevents collision checking. I kind of overcame this with this hack: https://github.com/ovk/chronoblaster/blob/main/src/scenes/Game.ts#L284
awesome music and sound design, makes me wanna keep jumping lol.
I like the visual inspiration with the face and mood.
however I feel the color choice for the robot kinda feels it does not belong idk.
Thank you for feedback! Yeah, the robot sprite I took from free assets, so unfortunately it does kind of feel out of place.
The game has a nice Axiom Verge vibe and I really like the implementation of the theme, I'm not a fan of the feeling of the jumps though, especially in the time zones but pretty solid work!
