Really cool game! I think being able to reset just one life would have been nice, but overall was a really enjoyable experience :)

What a great game! I think I saw this idea already somewhere (cannot remember where) and it is not directly related to mirror, it feels more like "time traveling". Anyway brilliant job! Maybe just one little minor detail to improve: I would have prefered to be able to do "Quit" / "Continue" also on the keyboard. You quite often face this message when you try around and it is a bit cumbersome to change to the mouse again for that. However, just a tiny little detail.

Developer

Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!
That's a good point about the mouse requirements on menus. If we revisit this game, we'll definitely look into making all things controllable via keyboard (which would also lend itself better to controller support).

After playing through all the games in the jam, I've made a post on some of my favorites and included your game! Check it out here.

Developer

Thank you, it's an honor to have made your overall top 5! :)
Also huge well done for playing your way through every game in the jam, that is no small feat.

One of the best and most polished entries in this jam. I really enjoyed the puzzles!

I like that you made various samples for the jump sounds, it can be clearly seen that you did make good work.

And what did you use to create the graphics?

Developer(+1)

Thank you, really glad you enjoyed it!
All the artwork was created in Aseprite - which is a fantastic tool, and you should definitely check it out if you haven't already :)

Great game. Unfortunately, my mirror character sometimes get stuck, and doesn’t go to the same spot I did.

Developer(+1)

Hey - sorry you experienced issues with the mirror character. I hoped I had ironed a lot of the bugs out.  Sadly, frame drops and other performance issues can affect the mirror characters and throw them out of sync by a few millisecond. That can be enough to make them overstep a button or miss a jump. There are some changes coming to itch.io which would allow us to upload a better performing web version and, after the jam is finished, we were thinking of uploading a binary version too which would perform better as well.

but, thanks for playing it despite these problems :)

This is great! A very clever usage of the theme and a unique gameplay idea. You get 'Portal' vibes at the beginning (which isn't a bad thing) but then the gameplay is totally different. Really nice pixel art as well, gotta respect jam games that also have good art.

Pretty difficult game as well, but you feel clever when you finally solve the puzzle.

Developer

Thanks so much for playing! We're glad you enjoyed it :)

(You already know this, but I'm leaving this comment on all games I play so...) Played this on stream. Check out the vod here for my thoughts. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1006252379?t=01h19m23s

Thanks so much for playing this! Being able to watch someone play it and hear their thoughts is invaluable feedback. Hopefully we can use your critique to make our future games better :)

Wow!

My favourite so far. The learning curve was a bit too steep (you had to realise quickly, that the level after the tutorial involved clever positioning and movements), but engaging puzzles!

Love it.

(Can you add a pause button?)

Developer

Thank you so much! The learning curve was quite difficult to judge but I'm glad you managed to enjoy the game :)

At first we didn't want a pause button as we wanted the game to be quite fast paced and frantic. After the game grew a bit we did actually decide to add a pause. We implemented it a day or so before the deadline but sadly it started to cause strange delays and other bugs with the "mirror image" playbacks. Because of that we had to remove it. It's something we might try to add back in if we continue adding improvements to the game.

Cheers!

The only glitch I noticed so far is, that the level is not reset before the next turn (with a now Mirror Player) starts. But that could allow for speedruns :-D

Developer

Haha - yeah. Were were aware of that but it didn't seem exploitable - we probably should fix it as some smart person WILL figure out how to exploit it!

Wow! I love the game, puzzles are really engaging and mechanics are unique. Great presentation, visuals are stunning! :)

Now I want to play prince of persia!

Really cool graphics, I think the jump is a bit too high, it surprised me a lot.

Developer

hey - thank you! :) We'll look at the jump height if we revisit this.

very nice puzzle platformer! for some levels I needed multiple tries, they are very challenging, but in a very positive way. plus I absoluty love the game and graphic design < 3 looks like a very polished game to me - it's definitely one of my favourites of this game jam !

Developer

Thank you so much! We didn't get to spend as much time as we'd hope getting the levels perfect so we weren't sure about the difficultly curve. we're glad it was a positive level of challenge and over the moon that you consider it a favourite  :)

Wow! That's pretty unusual idea. I really like this game, I like its mechanics. It reminds me of Faze or Braid, their mechanics are so unique as well. Develop this game further and maybe you'll take a place near to them.

Developer

Thank you! Comparing our game to those two is the highest praise we could hope for. :)

This game is great! If you fix it up some, add more levels and mechanics, you could easily sell this.

Developer

Thanks so much! That is very high praise! :D
