Love the hand-drawn aesthetic, the overall vibe, and it's definitely a solid brain teaser.
My critique would be that the platforming could be a little more generous to the player (bigger colliders and more jump power, plus 'coyote-time' air hanging, as some suggestions). This would prevent the frustration of making a small keypress error and having to reset the puzzle back to the state it was at before. Not that that happened to me of course *cough*
Looks like you've got a lot of players rolling in! Don't let any negativity get to you, all those pings. This is a great, complete entry and your team deserves to be proud.
Beautiful game, very good ideas, overall it's very very good!
However, sometimes I stuck myself and I just have to restart the level (for example, I no longer can grab the cube because it's under me)
It's sad, because it just happens when I try things.
I think you could resolve my problem only by giving us the ability to grab cubes right under our feet. This way, my problem is no more :D
Anyway, good job overall :)
A fun and polished game! I really enjoyed the art style, the whole hand-drawn doodle style works really well. The animations were incredibly smooth and fluid and I loved how the tutorial text was incorporated into the backgrounds. The level designs are creative and the soundtrack is fun. GG!
Very fun and had a unique concept. Definitely one of the best games I've played for the jam so far. Great job!
You made a pretty polished experience overall. For some reason, the movement felt better with a controller rather than with the keyboard.
I genuinely loved the death animations (how the eyes rotate in the opposite direction than the body). :D
In level 5, the spring on the moving platform keeps clipping through it and then it is impossible to finish the level (see screenshot).
i like the game, I had some problems with the player movement, but I had a lot of fun :D
So cool. I love puzzle in this game. The controls are too hard and I found some collision bug, but overall is really nice game.
Cool! Good art, I like that the music changes when you switch the character, and the switch generally is a cool idea. However, the controls are terribly sluggish and are way too awkward for a platformer. Sadly that severely dragged down my experience
Good art andnice puzzles but controls are pretty clunky.
On one stage I released a block near concrete wall and block got placed on the other side and I got stuck. Didn't find any way to reset.
Very cool game ,amazing art style . Reminds me of fire boy and water girl.
I like the visual and the music.
As other have mentioned before, I think the jumping really is tedious here, especially for platformer. Having better control on of the jump and more height and speed to it would help a lot.
The level progression was a little too fast to my taste. I prefer having smaller level that incorporate 1 mechanic at a time, but sometime I sould have to do multiple new things in a level that seems like it should have been 5 level after. The speed of the character also didn't help, since seeing a big level made me think that I would be here for hours :P
In level 3, I got stuck with Redd on the bottom left side of the level, impossible to jump back up or restart the level or go back to the main menu. I also wanted to get the block at the bottom right, but after braving the spikes, I realized that I needed it to get back up and that this whole risky adventure was not even worth it, I was a little sad.
All in all, the visual, music and sfx are polished, but I think the game could benefit from having simpler smaller level.
Hi Foolbox, thanks a lot for your comment. Your explanations are all very well-written and clear.
We are saddened to hear that you remain stuck in a level, the restart button is in the pause menu (openable with the P button).
Also, the movements will be fixed and polished, so the overall experience can surely be more satisfying.
Thanks again for your comment
The whole game felt very polished, the art and sound design very coherent and at a very high quality. I loved how the music changed between characters and how everything just fits together really well. Also being able to play in web is always a good thing.
My biggest issue with the game were that the controls did not feel very fluid/responsive, I dont know what exactly it is but I had a hard time controlling the character the way I wanted to. It would have also been nice to have a volume slider in the options instead of just being able to turn sound on or off.
Im also not too sure about the implementation of the theme - was the point that the two characters have a different scale?
Aside from those minor things the game seemed to be at a very high quality and I had a fun time. Great job! :)
Hi Krossa1, thanks for your comment.
Control will be polished and fixed in future versions of the game. Also the slider (with all the settings implemented correctly)
Regarding the implementation of the theme, the scale is implemented in the change of the scale of the objects between the two worlds. We are sad to hear that the theme is not 100% clear. We will polish the game in way to make it clearer.
Thanks again
Amazing work from the art and audio perspective. Movement and platforming should be more polished, but generally I liked the game
