Really simple but awesome. I liked everything, from the sounds to the graphics and gameplay. Really well done.

The character is fantastic, really funny!

The gameplay is so funny, I tried the game different times to get the maximum score possible.

Really really good job, nice entry.

Is Crimbo the elf cousin of Clippo? I said yes, although Crimbo at least is making itself useful, haha. Funny character design, and the level design is nice also. I had to play twice since any failure is merciless and the jump sometimes feels a bit off. But as you can run again in less than 3 minutes, it's not a big deal. Had fun with that, kudos!

Challenging and fun! Well done!

Solid game. The controls felt very nice to handle. Using the presents as the collectible and a platform was a nice touch.

Very cute and very well executed game :) The polish is impressive!

As others have said the level design progression is very good, so ggs on this in particular :)

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it. Nice work on almost finishing the game! ;)

Super cute art and music. I like the idea of using the presents as part of the platformer puzzles, that made me stop and think a few times before inevitably screwing up anyway :D

The story is nice as well, and knowing that you're meant to use the "goal" to achieve the best possible ending makes the second playthrough a lot easier. But the ending screen prompt when you don't get all the presents already encourages players to go back and try again because surely no one would want to ruin Christmas!

Solid entry, I'll be thanking Crimbo come Christmas

Developer

thanks so much for your feedback and for playing the game more than once :D there are actually 4 endings you can get depending on how well/badly you do. Glad you had some fun with our little creation :)

How is this a cliche?

Developer (2 edits)

The cliche is "Christmas is coming". example: Someone says "I'm coming now" and the response is "yeah, so is christmas!"

"I'll be there soon"..."So will Christmas!" etc.

Really cute! I thought the presents being collectibles AND part of the puzzle was pretty innovative.

Hi again. Just made sure that all kid gets they presents. And with 12 seconds on clock left :)

All I can say, your game feels and looks absolutely amazing. Level progression is just perfect, and time of year for this kind of game is perfect. If I were you, I would immediately published mobile version of this to google play and try to get some holidey wibe for pushing this awesome game!

Great job!

thank you so much :) and great job on getting through the game in time! Will start working on a mobile release this weekend :)

The little sugar cane character is so cute and funny, love his design and animations, the music was good and surprisingly didnt feel super repetitive and irritating since the whole experience is also quite short.

Graphics I thought were good and then again, small game, not gonna fry you too much for the lack of variance.

The gameplay was good even though I thought it was a little unforgiving, maybe some coyote time and jump buffering would be good, the time contraint was a great dificulty raiser, like even though the levels are quite easy, since you have to speed run everything it didnt feel lacking.

Overall I liked it a bunch!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback and for playing our game! The timer is really the core mechanic of the game and for reference my best is being able to get all the presents with around 49 seconds of time left, so I expect for most people it will be tough to 'win' the game on the first play through and hopefully this will encourage at least one more attempt :D

Ok heres my take Soundtrack fantastic loved it really fit the mood art style also fantastic but a little inconsistent. The only problem i had with this game is the levels. The progression of the levels felt too linear and just by seeing the pattern in your level design i could figure out what the next level would be like. What i would do is pretty much completely restart on each level as they all seemed to be using the same 3 platforms or at least to the point i got level 4. Cuz i suck at platformers. But I would mix up the level design and that would easily make your game a 9/10. Oh I just noticed the controllable character in the title screen very very nice. Final thought you should spread time across all aspects of the game Music and art seemed to get the most attention while level design seemed to be lacking.

Hey, I enjoyed your game, it was fun!
I collected 20 presents with 3 seconds left!

Gave you 5/5, I don't take ratings so seriously. It's a cliche that they are the most important thing! ;)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for rating and posting your score! Glad you had a bit of fun out of it :) 20 presents is pretty good going!

I love the character. Great concept and perfectly timed theme.

Wooow! A very funny christmas adventure! Santa won't never have problem to give the gift to the children :D

A christmas game is a solid interpretation of this years theme. The character art is super cute with a nice touch of crazy eyes. The idea of using the pickups to get to another level is a really cool subversion of the platformer concept, i liked that a lot. Great idea and great execution!

Nice fun little adventure!

I like that it's impossible to get "stuck" on a level, you can just move on if you can't reach a gift!

The timer is quite forgiving, but at the same time it is perfect to meditate and think how to reach a gift. I would maybe add a "difficult" mode where you have less time to complete, it would make the game more challenging for advanced players, and more replayable overall.

Good game, I really enjoyed it! 🤗

My best time is 2:40 with 18 gifts!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing :) I'm glad you found the timer to be forgiving! I've actually only managed to get all 21 presents with about 40 seconds left and to me I'm doing a near-perfect run! Yes, towards the end of development I thought about adding an Easy/Hard difficulty mode and I that is definitely on my backlog for continued development along with a few other features I just didn't have time to code. I think the goal for the easy-mode would be to give people time to just enjoy the atmosphere and the music, because we worked hard on that and the music (imho) is awesome. Thanks so much again for playing and posting your score! I will be checking your submission too.

I'm glad to hear that you will keep working on this project, time limitations can be a b*tch and not having enough time to add stuff that you planed can be very frustrating.

I like your idea for the easy mode, in more "casual" focused games players don't want to have a hard challenge, and making it just an "enjoy the game at your own pace" will make a good addition!

Entertaining puzzle game! I foresee Crimbo overtaking Elf on the Shelf as the premiere holiday mascot. Good job!

Very charming! Smooth controls, intuitive gameplay, great sounds, and the excellent polish with the falling snow.
