Notes (optional)
We ran out of time to do proper tutorials, sorry for that, hope people can understand how this works.
Pre-existing assets (optional*)
we put together logic from systems we have been developing but the vast majority of it was made during the jam .... sorry for the art assets we did our best in trying to do them by hand, so no AI assets.

This is an amazing game with a lot of potential! It's so fun customising the fish and battling other people's creations!
It feels a little buggy with sometimes not being able to click on things to delete them, the camera zooming feeling a bit jerky, and the HP not properly keeping track of how much you have available between games and when deleting fish parts, but overall it's such a cool concept and fun game!
I'm excited to see where this goes in the future :D
thanks Anizy for stopping by and playing our game.
the hp thing we kinda left on purpose, we thought lets not worry about limitations for this moment, we really just wanna see what people create and how they like the creation process. There are some shortcuts that we use as developers if you wanna test them, like, for instance if you press Q it makes all pieces spawn so it makes it easier for us developers to test them and if you hold ctrl and click a piece you duplicate it, all without limitations (yeah we did not disable the shortcuts in the jam version lol)
This game seems really complex with a lot a potential! The fish monster creator is really powerful and give the player a lot of customizability!
This is pretty rough but has a lot of potential.
It felt slow to make changes and try them out in the arena. I think if performance had been better I would've played for ages.
I'm impressed at what you've accomplished here and I'm glad to see you'll put a bit more time into it after the jam.
thanks for the comments Pix, and good insight you gave about the speed of it, there are features we have been trying like being able to select multiple pieces and duplicate them ... maybe have a way to jump into the arena from the edit space or perhaps adding some auto save background features so that you don't have to wait the db so much
Addictive gameplay and complex mechanics. I liked that to make the fish shoot urchins they have to receive blood from the fish heads or how you can make the whole monstrosities move towards the enemy with the tails.
Very creative game. Lots of things going on! I found the mood a bit bizarre and unsettling, but in a good way
just one question: ¿¿¿¿¿HOW DID YOU DID THIS IN A WEEK?????, i'm really surprised with all this game, it's creative and really fun, the only bad thing i can think off it's that it's a little bit buggy, but overall, great job!
thanks a lot for playing @Wazinga
we have this framework we have been evolving for creating multiplayer and social mechanics so what we had to do was focus on the core building the monstrosities aspect of it and the rest the framework kinda already does it.
Somethings we only managed to fix almost last minute, but as a lot of people said, there are still lots of bugs and rough edges.
We plan to keep evolving this into something less buggy after the jam ... hopefully less buggy lol
Really impressive systems here! A multiplayer auto-battler is quite ambitious for a small jam. It definitely has some rough edges, it can use a tutorial and some refining to the match-up ranking, but it is unlike anything else I have seen in a jam. Great work!
This was an awesome idea!! Took me a little while to figure out how to make stuff work but it was cool seeing my creation fight stuff that other people had made! Thought it was a little weird that you could bet money even if you were in the negatives lol. But still, I had fun! :D
this is very unique and quite technically impressive! I like that my more simple creation was almost able to win against one that was far more complicated...makes me wonder what the optimal monstrosity build would be when considering compact and simple vs. large and complex :0 nice job! :D
Most different concept I have seen so far, congrats! Lots of people said the things I was gonna say, it is hard to understand. Also I win most of my fights with only 2 fishes, because I am small they cannot hit me, so the game dynamics can be much better if you put effort and mind. I hope you guys continue for the better version of this game, maybe without fishes but with smart dynamics. Hope you best!
I had a blast playing this! It was just so fun to create and mess around with the game, like others have already pointed out a tutorial would be great but in the end it's just a fun fish game. Great entry ^^
It took a while to figure out, but in the end was extremely fun to play! As many said it really needs some tutorial, but still for 7 days this seems like a lot of work. I had great fun!
One of my favorites I've played so far to be honest. I'm just a sucker for weirdness, and this checks all my weird boxes. The art is sort of goofy and sort of offputting and just creates a great uncomfortable vibe to the whole thing. Also, you say you ran out of creative names, but I feel like Fish Monstrocity Arena fits the vibe surprisingly well, haha.
Despite my love for this conceptually, it's definitely lacking some polish. Descriptions for what each component does would help a lot I think. The battles themselves felt a bit anticlimactic, in part because I had a hard time telling what was going on and what actually made a victory or a loss. There's some other things (giving the game some juice, tutorializing) that others have mentioned as well.
That said, I still loved it. I'm glad it sounds like you have plans to continue working on this after the jam because I would love to see where it ends up. Great work!
thanks a lot for such a detailed feedback.
the thing you mentioned and that was also bothering me is what leads to a victory (currently is damage dealt) and the lack of sound effects do not help. This leads to sometimes lose just because your creature is big and has more places to take damage. Still deciding what can be a good fair and fun winning factor.
Once the Jam is over we already have some updates to push live.
Like others said on comments, the game is interesting but it is a bit unclear at first how to construct our monster and send it to the battle.
I liked the music and the graphics are competent but it lacks "juice" for a better visual (screen shake, particles, animation... this kind of stuff)
Good job using a network. Really impressive for a game jam!
One note: I think a bug allow to buy a starfish piece without having enough money (this was suppose to happen?)
Overall, a solid entry! Congrats!
Very addictive game, I have been playing for half an hour I think. Nicely done!!
