This is insanely good.  I missed this during the Gamejam and I'm just getting to it now, unfortunately.  This is a 5/5 in my opinion.  Great work!

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm blown away by how well this game did. I'm super happy ๐Ÿ˜ This weekend I'll try to implement a global Highscore system - I'm not that familiar with coding yet so we'll see how it goes ๐Ÿ˜‚

This is an incredible entry ! One of the best i saw so far !

I don't know what to say, i had a lot of fun playing it. Oh and yes, badgers are OP x)

Great job !

Thank you so much. I think I'll return to this comment section a lot in the future when I need a motivation boost finish my path to a professional game dev ๐Ÿ˜

I'm coining a new speedrunning category for this game: Badger% - the board has to reach this state and the runner has to listen to MrWeebl, obviously.

But seriously - lovely game with loads of options. Of course that the first year I spent all my food on upgrades and then restarted to do the badger run ๐Ÿ˜…

Wait, someone hasn't gotten that? Am I that old? ๐Ÿคญ

So happy somebody caught it :D

Five stars across the board. This was complex, interesting, and fun to play - I was amazed that you made a resource management strategy game feel cozy, as opposed to intense/stressful. I love this game and will be playing it frequently. Please continue to work on this and add different maps/modes!

Developer(+1)

Wow what a great compliment thank you! I want to use this game to learn more about Unity, Coding and Game Design overall. So I plan to update it from time to time.  First items on the list are fixing the year 5 bug, a global highscore, an endless mode and a guided tutorial. :D

I can't wait! Really looking forward to it! Followed you for updates. ๐Ÿ

Awesome game man! Super cozy and definitely an addictive farming game! Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks I really appreciate it ๐Ÿ˜

Highly rated! Feature packed and in depth game. Great art design and style. In gameplay there was a lot to digest but starting the level off small helps. By the end you can assemble the empire as you like. I think making the food yields a BIT higher could help get to that point maybe around year 4 so you can enjoy the last year a bit more. :) Managed to get 10k score, I wonder what's the highest score you've seen! Overall impressive, great job!

Developer

First off, thanks for the great feedback!

Second I think my own highest score with the game as it is right now was about 22-24k but I know all the little exploits ๐Ÿ˜‰

From what I have seen so far your score is pretty good!

I Loved this game so much!  The gameplay was so fun 5/5 for every category.

Developer

Thank you so much! ๐Ÿ˜

Very cozy and so much depth and polish! The only thing I would take a look at is making the tutorial more action-based; it's a lot to digest via text popups. Spend some time smoothing that learning curve and you've got a seriously fantastic game. Overall fun to play - great job!

Developer

Yeah that seems to be the main criticism. I'll see what I can do about that in the future ๐Ÿ‘

WOAH! This game grabbed me IN! It has a bit of a steep learning curve, and at first I really wasn't feeling it. It wasn't till year 5 that I started to actually get into it and understand what was going on (about 30 minutes or so) then I got super into it! I started from scratch and orchestrated my master plans.

I wish it went a BIT longer than 5 years, like 6 or 7! At the end of year 5 all of my setup was THIS close to being done and ready to dish out!

I got a final highscore of ~13000, super awesome game! Keep up the work, and I'd love to see this finished as I think there are so many ways it can be improved and expanded to make a really good finished product :)

Hey Mopi, I love to see your enthusiasm! I'll use this game as a sandbox for learning more about game design. Xan did all of the coding and I'll build on that in the future, so you can expect updates.

For example, an endless mode is intended. I can't make any promises in how fast I'll be though seeing as I'm working 40 hours and studying game design at the same time ๐Ÿ˜…

Also, here's a nugget of knowledge since you're so into it: There are further economy mechanics that are a little hidden. Every animal has a tier list of food  that goes from 100 % to 30 % happiness effectivity. The tooltips tell the extremes, but the in between ranking us hidden ๐Ÿ˜‰

I'll have to rework balancing a little too, though. Some stuff is a little too OP ๐Ÿ˜‚

Rather fun and chill game. Really good if you're the kind of player who wants to optimize your play strategies.

Developer

Thanks ๐Ÿ™‚ I did a lot of calculations in the economy, but I'm not completely happy with it yet ๐Ÿ˜

That looks so cool, I would love a Second game where the plants are actually AI. moving here and there and we have to cut them to harvest

Developer

Thanks so much. I deleted your duplicate post, I hope that's okay

Incredibly polished and really great concept! Loved the music as well. Nice job!

Thanks a bunch! Glad you enjoyed it!

I really enjoyed this! Iโ€™m usually bad at these kinds of games, so between the looming winter, five-year timeframe and information overload I was really anxious at first, but finding out it was more or less turn-based and didnโ€™t really seem to have a fail state let me relax and have fun feeding the rabbits (and other animals).

Really nice game!! very similar to ours (me and my sister made it)!! Keep making these you are very good!! :D

Thank you! ๐Ÿ™‚

This game rules! Great music, design, and execution. My only critique is there is a bit too much to learn all at once when starting out. By the end my first few years I started getting the hang of it (still managed >5000 score!). With some additional polish this could go a long way. Excellent job!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks a lot your feedback is appreciated ๐Ÿ‘ The rule feedback is a regular one it seems. I'll see if I can find the time in the future to introduce a guided tutorial.

Really cool game! Very complicated, kinda falls into the same trap as mine by having a ton of information at the beginning so it takes some time to learn. You clearly put a lot of work into planning it out and its pretty enjoyable. The art and music are great as well. Nice job!

Developer

Thanks a ton. Yeah same problem as you: no time for a guided tutorial was left.

Great Game! My socre was 3827!

I enjoyed playing it and I like the art style and music very much. Well Done!
