This was really cool, and the level of visual polish here is staggering! I'll echo some other folks' comments that I was a bit lost for a bit at first and that some sound or music would have made it even cozier than it already is, but no other comments here! Great job! :)
Really cute game! It took me about 5 minutes to get the hang of it but I think that's just because its a puzzle game with a few moving parts, once I understood what was going in it became much easier. I would have loved some audio, maybe a bubbling noise when something's cooking, a sound when you clear a row/box/column, a sound when you satisfy an order and when an order comes in, some music, etc but the visuals were gorgeous and the gameplay very clean. One thing I messed up is that when an order came in for two of something my first instinct was to put one into each pot but that doesn't satisfy the order, it took me way too long to figure out I could put more than one of the same thing in each pot. Great job overall, this was a really fun, engaging game!
Thank for such comprehensive feedback.
I had a list of planned SFX and most of these were there except the bubbling - love that idea.
The original plan was to start with just one cauldron and get another ones later. I might do that for the tutorial if I do a postjam version.
From wife:
Stunning game! Love the idea of combining tetris, tic tac toe and crafting, it was well done and interesting.
Damn, I can't get my wife to play my games let alone playtest other jam games ๐
Send my best regards to your wife.
I can't get my wife to play full games, she always fall into demo festivals and similar :D
I can't get her to play almost any videogames. She doesn't mind board games though. You win some, you lose some... ๐
Nice little game! I feel like adding in some sound effects and music would go a long way in making the game more cozy, but overall it was enjoyable to play!
Yep, audio was on my list right after a tutorial sequence ๐
The main mechanic has 2 sides for me... either everything goes to plan and I get what I want or the game just trips me up. It's a bit confusing, but after a few playthroughs you get the hang of it. The art is cool but it's not that cozy in my opinion. Either way, good job and keep making games cause you seem to have some clever ideas!
I definitely had some playtests in which I was getting one terrible tile after another. IMO the days are short enough that a restart is not too frustrating, but if I had enough time I would consider somehow nudging the tile gen in the players favour.
Wow that's addicting ! I love the smalls caracters in the background and you can really recover from your mistakes, at least on the firsts levels. Really clean work ! GG !
I bumped up the order times so that mistakes should be mostly recoverable although it could def use some more tweaking.
Very cool game with addicting gameplay. The art is super cute too! Very good job!
very polished graphics and game play ! Kind of unexpected game !
Thank you.

About the gameplay, it's kind of special ;)
took a while to get it but was quite clever once I got in to it
good job
Had a great time playing! The initial instructions screen was pretty overwhelming but I picked it up quickly once I got started playing. Overall good fun!
Yeah, the tutorial screen is not great, sorry about that and thanks for getting thru the initial hump and playing.
Oh my, this triggered my competitive mind! Very refreshing take on tetris, I liked it. I would have liked two things though: Background music and the possibility to retry the level.
Thank you.
Agreed, music is sorely missing. By retry you mean a quick reset or smt. else?
Yes, Sometimes (well, before I found out you could use ingredients to clear out blocks :p) I found myself in a bind and felt the round was lost anyway, so I just waited there for the countdown to finish so I could start a new round.
Yeah, sorry, I wanted a pause/restart menu, but didn't have the time. ESC should actually refresh the page and reload the current lvl though. It's briefly mentioned in the probably-too-long itch description ๐
Super good game, also got stuck at some point, but I understand what went wrong, and the tetris + sudoku style mechanic is such a good idea. Didnt understand the fire boosting mechanic until later in the game after I accidentally lost a component to it, but once I figured it out it was a super nice addition. Very unique game, great artstyle, great idea, amazing execution. Incredible job!
Thank you ๐
I should have better signposted the boosting, sorry about that.
Really nicely crafted game! I kept getting stuck, bad luck I guess. Love the idea.
Lovely art style, and a fun novel concept! Wish it had some sound, some nice noises would've added a TON of juice to the puzzle aspect
Sweet entry, very creative :)

A really fun and unique puzzle game! Definitely the game that made me think the most so far. The onion and the eggplant definitely added a lot challenge. The artwork looks very nice and well detailed. I think the one thing that should be a bit reworked on is the tutorial as it did take some time to learn the basics of the game. But overall this is a well made game, Good job!
Thank you and happy to hear the difficulty curve worked for you. The tutorial def needed more love, sorry about that.
Such a fun game! I enjoyed playing it. I didn't realize I had to put multiple ingredients in the pot to make some things at first. The orange Xs on the beige background where also a little hard to see for me. The artwork was very charming and your idea is so unique. I could see myself playing this game for quite a while. Good job!
Thank you.
Didn't thing multiple ingredients would be an issue, but the UI could def use some more work as would the tutorial. The contrast on the board fine to me, but I didn't consider consider colour blindness which might make it quite bad. Sorry about that.
A little tricky to figure out at first (I didn't grasp until day 3 that what you get from columns/rows is actually listed outside the grid, and I didn't realize you had to drag the cards into the cauldron), but once I got all the mechanics down 5 minutes in, what an engaging tetris/sudoku twist! The visual aesthetic was cohesive and charming as well.
Thank you for taking the time to figure things out. I'm not sure most people actually realise how the card clearing works based on the grid.
I didn't figure out at first that I was supposed to put the cards in the cauldron, but when I did, I found myself engrossed in the game. Love how challenging it becomes after a few days. Nice work!
Yeah, it needed a proper tutorial sequence, sorry about that. Glad to hear the difficulty scaled reasonably.
I'm not really sure what's going on here. I tried reading the tutorial multiple times but its hard for me to understand without being able to interact with the game itself. And unfortunately i couldn't really figure it out while playing with it.
I'm sorry i don't like being overly negative in these reviews, but the introduction does need some work.
That's a fair point. I wanted to add a proper tutorial, but I was running out of time, so I just cobbled together the (fairly obtuse) tutorial screen.
I enjoyed this puzzle design! Once I figure out how all the pieces worked together with the vegetable cards and cauldrons, it was a neat challenge. Also, I think you used the art assets really well; it pulled together nicely and added a really polished look to the game!
Thank you and sorry you had to figure it out - a proper tutorial would have been nice ๐
I tried to unify the palette of the oaks wood set with the rest of the sprites - mine or otherwise - but there's still way less detail in those, so it still doesn't fit as well as it should.
Btw. have you rated the game? The rating count is still the same IIRC. Comments are way more useful than ratings ofc, but still ๐
I wish I could rate your game; it looks like only one person from each team who submitted can rate games, but I'll ask if my team member can do it for me!
No worries, I had no idea only submitters could actually rate. Thanks for playing, that's the most I could wish for ๐
I brought up rating on the Discord server and it was changed to whole teams, so now you should be able to rate ๐
Oh that you was you? Nice! I did notice the change last night. Thanks for bringing it up!
