A concept very different from anything I've seen before, but no less enjoyable for that! As others have said, the movement feels a bit slow, but it's a very good game either way!

Really cool concept, I think it'd be even better if it were faster and the tentacle spawns were more forgiving, I keep getting stuck on them when they cover the safe zones of the big wall obstacles. Nice game I liked the art a lot!

Very unique and creative spin on the theme. Maybe if the speed increased as you reach further would be good but I still had fun playing it.

Your animations are awesome. The skateboarding in particular looks really good. Seems like getting a high score depends a lot on where the tentacles appear but I still had fun with it. Nice work!

Unique idea! The art is very nice, maybe the skating should feel a bit faster or build the longer you go? I also had a strange glitch where I suddenly got a game over during a decent run. If I had to guess a tentacle might have emerged at my current position, some indicators to when this is going to happen would be nice. Maybe a bit of animation on the tentacles too, just to make them feel more alive.

Developer

yeah an overlook on the spawning of the tentacles was a problem we noticed near the end, definitely would've made things better. also increasing of the speed, it seems like everyone wanted that.

cool concept and good execution. i especially liked the overhall style, i think a button to increase the speed would be pretty fun because once you get the feel of the game it become really easy

Developer

I agree, we had problems implementing it and having weird glitches occur, thanks for the comments!

Never would have thought of skating and eldritch horrors and yet here we are! Very creative idea loved the art direction with the characters and all. So great job overall!

I really liked the full hand-drawn animations. It does feel like it was a little slow, and I couldn't increase my speed. I was in the middle of nowhere with nothing around me and I got a game over unexpectedly. I would do some work on it, but it definitely seems like it's worth doing some work on.

Developer

Yeah we ran into some problems with speed and the length of the game so we coded in a hard end. Definitely will come back to it to polish and finish it up so it can be truly infinite

loved the art my bro dudes

Really really great art! I kind of wish the game moved faster, and from a design perspective it doesn't seem like there's a reason to ever just jump when flips accomplish the same dodging ability and attack the tentacles. Maybe a solution there would be to make the flip lower and jump higher? That way there's some obstacles you can't flip over that would require a jump, and naturally it would make jumps a bit more punishing, using them in places a flip would work would mean you're in the air longer and potentially hit a different hazard.

Another thought is currently tentacles just appear but it'd be neat if there was some warning like the ground cracking or something like that? I'm not sure they do damage immediately anyway but it might help not freak out the player lol

Developer

All great notes and will definitely take them into considerations. overall balancing and play-testing was needed to clean up these problems which we didn't have too much of a luxury of with this jam.
