Judge feedback

Judge feedback is anonymous and shown in a random order.

  • I wish the gravity wasnt as punishing, it makes the jump feel heavier than it should compared to the velocity of the "up" part of the jump. Other than that, the health mechanic with don't stop moving made it refreshing to play as a platformer!
  • Oh my goodness, the little death animation and the physics that will keep your body THROWN across with momentum are hilarious. I love the art and character, so quirky and cute. VERY strong physics that take some getting used to, but goes with the theme! Nice job!
  • I think the concept for the game is really unique and interesting, and the art style is really cool. I think the controls could be tweaked a little to make the game feel more responsive. Other than that, the gameplay is really fun and polished.

How does the game fit into the theme?
In DON'T STOP MOVING, speed is linked to your health. Standing still decreases your health, and moving increases it. However, you can't just jump in the same spot; to progress, you have to keep moving forward :)

What premade assets did you use if any?
I used premade textures and sound effects, which I modified to meet my needs. I also used a movement platformer template I extended for additional features. I also did not make the music. All credits are given with links at the bottom of the game description :)

Cool game! Love the grafics and the idea, really fun

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! Really appreciate it :)

NIIIICE! Really like the art! Good work!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Most of the sprites come from Kenney's 1-Bit Platformer Pack, which I either recoloured for gameplay's sake or created new sprites to match with them (like the slide and death sprite) :)

Submitted(+1)

Nice game, you did a good job stitching together all of those premade assets.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for your feedback! I didn't have a lot of free time, so I wanted to focus on polish and level design since those were my biggest weak points. I made sure to have the VFX and SFX be consistent with the vibe of the game so that the differing assets didn't clash with each other. Thanks for playing :)

Submitted(+1)

The best game I tried so far even tho I was way too bad LOL!

Developer(+1)

Sorry for the difficulty scaling! But thanks for playing :)

so fun and so polish. i love it

Developer

Thanks for playing! :)

nice game slide is a bit long sfx are awsome with this art feels good, ngl controls kinda messing up when playing on brwoser ctr + space opens my serch tab etc hahah

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing my game! Sorry for the controls messing with your browser hehe,

Submitted(+1)

Liked the concept, the art was really nice. The game felt nice to play, and I don't think the lack of sound made it much much worse. The controls were ok, but I accidentally did ctrl+w which closes your tab so.... But other than that it's perfect! (I switched to using the space to jump lol). I would really enjoy more levels because the difficulty curve is steeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep. Great Job!

Developer

Thanks for playing and for your feedback! It might be a bug I haven't come across yet, but there should be sfx and music in the game. The main reason for the alternative controls was for that reason actually; on the first version my playtesters kept bookmarking or closing their browser XD

I liked the concept, it was a bit difficult at first, but I managed to advance through several levels.

The art and presentation are very good.

Good job! :D

Developer

Thanks for playing my game! I would've liked to have the difficulty ramp up more steadily over time, but I'm glad most can still get through most of it :)

Really impressed by this game! The level design is top-notch, and the difficulty progression is really well executed. I really liked how you added variety to the levels with timed buttons, traps, and keys to use.

Regarding the theme, I think it fits really well too.

As an area for improvement, adding a bit of narration could be cool to give more meaning to this race against time🫡

Developer

I really appreciate your feedback! I agree with the narration bit. I wasn't exactly sure how to explain that mechanic, and it didn't help that I kind of left it to a last-minute thing haha. Thanks for playing!

The gameplay was fun and the music was nice. Managed to beat all 10 levels. For feedback, I'll say the level of difficulty ramped up pretty quickly. Would have liked to see some more obstacles implemented with the sliding in mind.

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! I did actually have an obstacle that required sliding, but unfortunately, I ran out of time to put it on another level :(. Thanks for playing! :)

Really nice and responsive controls for a quick gamejam platformer. Great job!

Developer

Thanks for playing! The controls weren't implemented by me; most of the heavy lifting was already done by DawnosaurDev :). I did port it over to the new Unity input system for gamepad support, however!

Man its like undertale and super meat boy. I love it MAKE IT HARDER! :D also the jumping is bugged kinda :?

Developer

You might be surprised to know that the levels were a lot harder than they are now, but I'm glad you enjoyed it! I've definitely come across some weird jumping bugs too which I'm still trying to figure out, so sorry about that :(

Awesome game !

Very tight gameplay, incredible game feels, insane music and art, honestly great job !!!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much!

Submitted(+1)

Real nice! I gave up at the fans level, might be a bit out of my league :)

Developer

A lot of my playtesters told me that they got stuck on that level, too, so you're not alone! Thanks for playing :)

Submitted(+1)

Loved the gameplay but definitely made me sweat. Play if you like a challenge!! Might have to beat the last levels later today haha!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing my game on stream last night! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and once again I'm so sorry for putting you through such cruel level design haha

Submitted(+1)

It feels like a professional game. The difficulty level is very well set and it is very challenging. The best game of this jam that I have tried so far, clear winner.

Developer

Wow, thanks! I appreciate your words :). I'm glad you enjoyed my game, although I think I might have messed up with balancing the difficulty with some of these levels, but thank you for playing :)

Submitted(+1)

Nice game and clean presentation! Only drawback is that the time-crunch aspect of the healthbar clashes with the precision required for some of these puzzles.

Developer

I appreciate your feedback! I do agree, I had a bit of a struggle with balancing precision and speed during level design, but that's a lesson I can learn from :).  Thanks for playing my game!

Submitted(+1)

Really like the idea! The game is well made and I like that the music changes evertime I die, keeps it fresh and interesting somehow.

My only complaint would be that, at time, the character controller doesn't feel as tight as it should be. I would have like to have a little bit more air control for a precision platformer like this.

But except for this, I love it!

Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for checking out my game! Sorry for the air control issues. I've had to change it quite a lot, according to playtesting feedback, but the last changes to the character controller weren't playtested as much. I'll make sure to update it post-jam; thanks for playing! :) (I'll play your game soon hehe)

Submitted(+1)

No worries, I understand that time is limited in a jam. I do like to point out possible improvements, since that's the best way to get better :)

Really unique mechanic! But I got stuck on the fan one cuz I suck!!

Developer

Thanks for playing my game! Sorry for the difficulty spikes; I had quite a bit of trouble balancing the levels out, haha
