I really like this entry - The artwork is great and the speed running + fall through mechanic is very interesting, I don't think I've seen one like it in this jam! The lies are subtle, but they're there! Although it was a little tough at times - I do hope you make it into a full game with adjustments and a little more story to it. Even a game where it doesn't "lie" to you and you just have fun with the mechanics would be awesome. I would totally play that and have fun! Congrats on the awesome entry! :)

Rated - Neat game!  I really like the sprite art style (the white and black outlines look great, plus I like how the tiles have it too.)  Take peoples suggestions and tweak your game for the better, hope you learned a lot this jam!  Please check out my game when you have time~ good day!

Thank you for the kind comments. I'm aware of most of the issues.

 I would probably remove the die on collide thing if I make a full game after the jam.

The base code for the platforming is a little buggy and I would 've like to improve that as well, just as the music, I know it's a bit repetitive at the moment.

Also needed more time to test levels that's why the end might be a little rough.

I think part of the fun here is trying to figure out the mechanics, but here is a little help:

**SPOILERS**
The theme relates on how it tries to break expectations for this kind of game, this becomes a bit more obvious once the spikes are introduced on later levels.
Speed: If you keep walking the player eventually will change color, this means its max speed has increased. If any object in the environment also changes color at the same time, it means it can be interacted on that speed when crashing into it, for example killing enemies, reaching the goal, or collecting gems.
Score: In order to get 100% on a level you need to collect all gems, and NOT killing enemies.
Spikes: here spikes can't hurt the character, they are used to bounce, bounce higher by holding jump. Also they mantain your speed by crashing into them.

I'm not sure what your game is about. What is the goal of the protagonist? Anyway, I found the enemy attack to be interesting; how they speed up your movement when you jump. For the most part, the music is also quite nice. However, it can be a bit repetitive at times. Lastly, I couldn't make it past the enemy pictured below. I guess that I have to jump over him with an enemy boost, but there isn't enough space.

Nice mechanic. I am not really sure how it is connected with the theme. The game is great but it would have been better with checkpoints.

This is amazing. Great game design, level design, art and audio. Only the theme is a bit flimsy but the game itself is great. I hated the final level. My lunch break was supposed to be 15 minutes but I needed to finish this and just the last level took me 20 minutes alone. I kept overshooting the goal.

Anyway, great game, my favorite so far!

Innovative. I like the speed mechanic and the fall through bottom of world once mechanic as well.

Execution: I don't like the platforming, which is a problem in a plaformer. :) The character comes to a standstill immediately when you let go of a direction. I don't think there is grace jump, meaning I cannot jump once I've left the platform. Climbing onto platforms feels finicky, which will lead to some deaths that are unexpected, or wrong positionings that were not intended.

I didn't really understand how the game relates to the theme.

I liked the SFX, but I didn't enjoy the music loop. It's very present and becomes obnoxious quickly.

Graphics are great. Coherent pixel art, for the most part. The font being Arial hampers this a bit.

Cute little game, nice graphics and animations

I found the dying part when you collider on walls a bit uneccessary but at least you don't lose the progress made in the level
