Really like the designs in this one. Core mechanic took a bit to get used to but it's pretty fun! Good work
Very interesting game! I do like the premise of having your graze being your main way of attacking enemies, and having to mix your limiting movement alongside range and graze box makes the game challenging!
Some feedback I have for the game itself is that having the graze bar completely reset when getting hit is way too punishing for this style of game, and lead to me snowballing into a game over multiple times due to not having enough graze to defend myself. Reducing the punishment so that it depeltes only half could help.
Good luck!
I've beaten the big round midboss at the end of the ascending sequence once so far.
I absolutely love the game.
It looks and sounds great.
The way you implemented limited shooting is a very good implementation of the theme, and the mechanics works very well. The game controls and feels perfect. At least the part I already managed to see is very well designed, both the enemies and their placement.
The game is hard but fair just as you want it to be, learning where the enemies are beforehand as well as learning to apprehend each sequence the best way will spare you a lot of headache with many less bullets appearing, which is perfectly fine in this sort of game.
Excellent entry, both extremely fun and polished, congratulations.
Get into the cab. Pulled the levers. The fur moved. I started walking back and forth. Didn't know how to jump. Opened the manual. Learned to jump. Met with enemies. I did not understand how to shoot and lost.
After 10 minutes.
Flying over the battlefield, fighting furiously, but still losing.
Great control feel 10/10
Art design is great, interesting shooting mechanics, and good level design.
Unless you want checkpoints and so that after the hit they don’t remove the graze point or remove only a part. I've already taken damage, I'm already punished for being careless.
Really cool looking game, and the audio is nice too. The controls are a little confuse tho, way too hard to properly aim for a bullethell too. I don't get why I can shoot while jumping, but I gotta say it's fun and implements the theme way better than many games here, just that, even if aiming is limited, that may not be the best Idea, but with polish I can see this game being a full release
Holy, yet another amazing game!! I really love everything about this artstyle, and the music is super fire! The sound effects are also pretty satisfying and the game is well polished all around. The gameplay itself is also extremelly fun despite the clunkyness, it really clicked super well for me! this is already another top spot contender imo.
Sadly I didn't finish it yet, but the keyword is *yet*. I'm totally going to give this game another shot later, it is actually already on my mental list of games I wanna try no-hitting for the fun of it (wich this jam seems that will be flooding it up ngl xD)
I only have some minor nitpicks as critiques tbh, like, I didn't really understood what the limit break did at all, and I also didn't really understood how to trigger it, there was a moment I tried pressing space while my gauge was blinking full and it didn't budge, but then at another moment I tried again and it worked but there was no enemy nor projectiles nearby so... yeah, I couldn't really test it at all.
I also feel like the only thing that holds the controls of this game back a little is the lack of horizontal control on the aim-locker so hitting some certain enemies is usually more tough than it needs to be, since positioning yourself right can be quite dangerous when there are a lot of bullets around, and since I'm kinda a highscore fanactic of course I was trying to kill every single enemy and dying to that lol. I tought that you could have some sort of "recall" command for the crosshair, like, holding A or C to make it move towards Bunny so it marks down every enemy on the path, this would make dealing with enemies on close proximity way easier and satisfying.
This is how far I went btw, but I sure wanna fight that epic looking green plane boss later tho:
(you can also see me doing the accidental limit break on the end lol)
Felt like controlling a heavy mech. Not in a bad way there's just a lot of stuff to do and it's a bit clunky to move around. But I like the movement a lot, there's definitely some potential and originality! The visuals are amazing and charming but I'm sure you've heard that a lot. A bit tough to dodge all those projectiles but great game nonetheless!
very good game, I loved it. I really liked the mechanics too, they're a little hard at first but once you get the hang of it they're pretty cool. great game, congrats.
Very fun game, the visuals are amazing! everything is nicely polished, the audio's good and the feedback upon doing anything is good as well, the only thing I would recommend is to tinker with the controls a bit since it did feel a bit weird to play, other than that, cool game.
Wow what amazing art (even the transitions are super cool!). The gameplay is pretty unique and everything is so well polished. It looks like a game that could be built for the switch or something. I'm really impressed. The controls did feel a little clunky to me, but other than that it's a really amazing game :)
Superb spritework and music !
I especially like the design of the mecha bunny ^^
Gameplay wise the mechanics feel really unique with the graze to charge your own shots, however the controls themselves feel a bit odd with having to use the up/down direction to aim but having the cursor auto centering back, though i’m curious if these would feel better on a controller rather than on keyboard only.
With that said it is still fun to play, and the lock on with an autofire feature is really welcome :D
Game is sick as hell, great visuals, good content, good mechanics, but whew is it hard. Especially that vertical section where you actually have to make use of the turn-around button. Still was fun to play.
Incredibly polished GBA-esque aesthetic, and a truly unique gameplay system! I found the controls a little too frustrating though, and couldn't quite wrap my brain around the movement options in a way that would make the gameplay feel fluid. But this is certainly one of the most unique and interesting games I have seen in the jam!
Game is beautiful but I’m having an impossible time with the controls/keybinds for the game. Adding gamepad support would be amazing.
The art style is very good. There are good feedback in movement and shoots of player. This game reminds me megaman games ! But I think commands are hard for me, it was difficulty to aim :').
[got walled pretty hard by the boss after the ascent section]
Very nice presentation and the main homing attack mechanic is interesting, but as a whole the game is quite difficult to get to grips with.
Initially I had a very hard time with the controls, so I went and used JoyToKey so I could use an Xbox gamepad instead which felt a lot more natural.
Afterwards, the controls made more sense during the grounded sections, but when the ascent section happened it made me wish more that you were just flying by default.
Limit Breaks being tied to your ammo/graze meter in practice meant I basically never filled the graze meter that high unless I intentionally milked an enemy due to how slow it fills. Perhaps if it was its own resource entirely instead of sharing it with your ammo or if ammo was unlimited?
Bullet visibility is rough at times, namely anytime the background is the indoor rocky area and the bullet is grazed/darkened.
love the art style and music :)
Incredible presentation, reminds me very much of Cave Story. Amazing.
The GBA art style looks awesome and you did this in only 10 days gg
