Ranked from 40 ratings. Score is adjusted from raw score by the median number of ratings per game in the jam.

How does your game fit the theme?
In the game, once you reach the goal, you will replay the level with new additions. This means that reaching "an end" will lead to "a new beginning". It's not a different beginning, but a new one, because it's not completely different from the old beginning. That explains the time rewind feature.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
1. Scripts: Yes
2. Sprites: Yes (They are just basic shapes)
3. Sound effects: Yes (I did use this free sound effect: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBwkGx8uWT4)
4. Background music: Yes (That's why I added an option to turn off music)

Cool game! Screenshake and sounds make it feel really satisfying, but it relies a bit too hard on the bloom to carry the visuals. Still, nice job!

cool game

Cool game. As short as the levels intentionally are, it was quite satisfying to beat the levels. I appreciated the basic menus and sound design was great too. nice work!

Really enjoyed the game plus I love the difficulty option! I was able to finish it in 19 seconds! (on easy though)  ;)

We already have bloom, screen shakes and some sort of bobbling monitor. Tell me any other elements I should add to the game!

Submitted(+1)

Ah, ok.

  1. Making the screen shake, adding 2 particles (a small firework-like one, and a big blood splatter-like one combined), and having a more explosive sound when dying will make dying feel very satisfying, no doubt.
  2. Making the bass drop more punchier and maybe adding a za warudo effect (a quick zoom in could also work) can make collecting the orbs feel so much better.
  3. Adding trails to the player or enemies could look very neat.
  4. I don't think the music really fits the game, maybe dnb could work a little better.

I understand that some of these are a little too demanding to implement, it's just a list that i would've added given the platformer speedrun style of the game.

Okay got it!

An overall a solid game, quite a blast to play through. Not sure if it is an intended design, but i can jump while midair, and the result is pretty inconsistent when doing so, e.g: when i am falling down at high speed and i press jump again midair, i almost gain no height. Not really a big problem due to the level being very easy. Nice and solid game overall.

Developer

Yes, that was an intended feature. Glad to know that you enjoyed the game!

I love the affect the occurs when you complete a level, and it fits with the theme pretty well! The visuals are simple, yet very effective, but i think the bloom is a little too much lol. The gameplay is also pretty good, and I like the menu animations! Great job! :)

Developer

Well, there's an option to turn off the bloom effect in the main menu. Also nice to know that you enjoyed my game!

Submitted(+1)

Wow I really like noise effects and camera moving of your game!!

And also glad to see "easy mode"(because I'm really bad at control haha.)

I really enjoy this game!

The game was pretty decent, though the controls felt a bit unresponsive, which made some stuff way harder than they should've been, the jump was also a bit too high in my opinion. Another thing was that the music can get a bit repetitive after some while, maybe change that up.

But overall, this game was pretty decent!

Developer

Bro the background music was never meant to be listened to. You should have turned it off. (there's an option to do so in the pause menu)

Submitted(+1)

Simple but you've got a finished game here.

The post-processing bloom was a bit too high for me.

I really liked the rewind effect

Developer

Well, there's an option to turn off the bloom effect in the main menu so yeah. Also nice to know that you enjoyed my game!

I really enjoyed the levels and controls. Play it on hard was really fun, I was constantly trying to beat my own time. Fun and interesting game.

This is a simple and fun game! i am not a platformer and speedrunning kind of gamers, but the level design, sound and effects really makes me wanna keep trying! end up playing 3 cycles with my best time 24s.

Great game. the game is realy fun to play. It's a realy fun and simple game. It's also nice that there is a timer. and you know i had to play on gamer mode.

Really well done game. It is simple but effective idea. Congrats.

Really simple and dynamic platformer! Glad to record time for speedruns, my score is 34.09 seconds)

Honestly I think the game lacks complexity, but overall it's good

Submitted(+1)

I loved the controls of the game feels very sharp and it was fun to play :)

Submitted(+1)

It's pretty fun, the platforming is very precise but the controls feel very responsive to make up for it

This entry was really fun and especially addictive.  It's got that "just one more try" magic.

I don't play a ton of platformers but I found it very funny and entertaining that I could jump off of the air.  The platforms are kept relevant by the fact that jumps off of them work much better; I found that mechanic fun.

I don't think it's particularly on-theme; I cannot tell what's different per-run.  If you switch it to  'Gamer' mode (because there's so little room for error) it becomes very apparent that the platforms and enemies are in the same places every time.  So, endings are not beginnings in any way that they are not in a normal arcade game with levels and one life.

One last thing I'll say is that in game jams, menus often fall by the wayside - there's just not time for them - and so I particularly admire this entry for having easy-to-use, complete menus at start and on pause!

Developer

Thanks for the detailed feedback bro!

Definitely kept me wanting to keep trying!
