Fun Concept, Had fun shooting notes, music was awesome, Great job!

What a fun concept! The execution was nice too--the controls felt good to use and I really enjoyed shooting all the lamps to turn them on. Difficulty was pretty easy but that's fine. I would totally play more levels of this. Speaking as an author, I think it would be fun to frame this with a little bit of story--maybe an idea for a later release?

Developer

Hi gwenckatz! Thank you for checking out my game. I definitily will  insert more settle narrative elements to the levels slowly on a further development. I love when games tell you everything without saying nothing and how some games can tell a whole story just with level design, so people can theorize lore and background story. In this project I was looking forward to depict a giant music conservatory complex with bedrooms, classrooms and museums that is abandoned. Sadly I didn't have the time to make the assets I needed, so I just built the scenes with free web assets that I could found that more or less represent what I wanted. What I didn't plan was the exact story of why these notes want to destroy the instrument, why the music conservatory is empty, who is this conductor with whom we play... so thank you for your suggestion, I'll plan a more explicit story introduced on the game soon :D

Developer

Also, it's pretty interesting you found it easy!!, maybe it was only the first part. The first half of the game is supossed to be actually pacific which is just gettin to the end of the level to get the instrument, but after you get the violin at the end of the level is when the gameplay  really starts while you try to get back to the start now. At this point on each room waves of enemies try to destroy the instrument on your way back and it's supossed to be very hard actually, specially the boss at the end. Maybe you didn't notice this part because it's not too explicit.

Again, thank you a lot for playing my game and commenting!

This game is beautiful! Top tier art, SE's, BGM's and controllers. Even the menu is engaging to interact with!

I just wish we could see where the lamps are in order to light them up quicker (like an outline), and that they didn't turn off again upon failling. Also, there were multiple instances where I tried to pause the game pressing esc and ended up having to start all over, so I think that there should be a confirm button or something.

I loved this game, good job!

Developer

Thank you Jhonny for your detailed and insightful feedback. I'm happy to hear you played my game and enjoyed it. Those are very good suggestions that I will definitily implement on a future update.

The art is great and music is cool. I am a little confused after what should I do after getting the violin. Did I miss some point or something?

Developer

Hi Bebu, after getting the violin, every time you enter a room there will be some waves of enemies trying to destroy the violin. You can't kill them if you're holding the violin so you'll have to place the violin on a shrine while you kill them until the wave ends. Shrines are the little black platforms that appear in the center of each room (like the one from which you get the violin). I'm planning to make this more evident on a future update, thanks for your comment and for trying out my game :)

a really nice game. 1) i am a guyu of music, so, really liked it 2) the music was... I've heard it somewhere before, or probably my imagination, I LOVE it... especially when it comes to piano. the pixel art was great too.

Developer

Thank you! The music is Beethoven Virus from Diana Boncheva & Banya. It's a famous remake of Beethoven's Pathetique Sonata, so that's why you probably heard it somewhere else. I just made an arrangement for flute, piano and cello.

This was a well-designed game with genuine difficulty. I thought the music and art were both phenomenal, and the idea of lighting lamps and fighting off enemies was a great idea. The only problem I saw was that after conducting for a bit, the baton stopped aligning with the mouse cursor, making it a little visually confusing where I was shooting sometimes. Still, I liked the atmosphere and the gameplay that accompanied it. Congrats!

Developer

Thanks a lot for your insightful review. I didn't noticed this bug, definitely will check that out to fix it. Thanks again for checking out my game!

It was hard to figure out what to do. A little more assistance at the beginning would have been nice to help get into it.

The sound design is very good and I dig the art style. Really a good looking game!

Great game. A little bit confusing at the start, but when you get a hang of it it becomes very fun top down roguelike. Game has some interesting mechanics and catchy music. All in all, good job :)

Developer

Thanks!

the visual graphic is amazing , the music was amazing , but felt abit ruined when in combat

Developer

Thanks for your feedback, I appreciate it.

Developer

Just in case you didn't play the game for too long to actually see combat, the first half of the game is not supossed to be to combat. Only after you get an item at the end of the level is when combat waves start per section.
