Interesting take on the theme and nice palette swapping effect! I did find the jump a bit too much, maybe some sensitivity so a small tap makes you jump lower would have been nice, also thought there should have been more screen shake on the death and the one on the jump felt like too much (at least for me) as it would make me lose track of where i was in the room. Also if I died, and was still holding a direction, there was no pause on respawn so i would then instantly run into the spikes again and continue like this for a wile (this might just be me being bad at the game lol). Overall a great jam game, cant wait to see the postjam version with the level editor and stuff, keep up the great job :)

In what way does your game fit the theme?
In Budzia you play as a lost soul trapped in a dungeon, looking for his friends, or 'budzia'! As you collect your friends and reform the group you have more strength to break the blocks around you, eventually letting you escape!
Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
All the Coding and Art was made in the week by myself (BLANKDev) and the music was created in the week by MightyJor.

Lots of great points there thank you! I did include a lower jump if you just tap, maybe I didn't make it low enough but I'm sure it's there my bad! I have comments from others from the screen shake being both just right and too much so I don't really know what to do with it! The moving after death thing was just a total mistake, I completely forgot I do apologize! Although the 'its not a bug it's a feature' in me quite likes it as the game is all about fast deaths. The level editor is actually fully working just polishing the UI and making the video now, so that should be out very soon :D Thanks for playing I really appreciate everything!
I thought this was very polished, and I think its the perfect length for a game jam. The design for the levels were also pretty fun though the difficulty curve didnt feel quite right. I also really liked the art and the color palette switch mechanic. In the end, this was really fun to play, and after 3 attempts I beat it with 9 deaths.
This is by far one of my favorite games from the jam! It was simple, fun, looked amazing, and was very well polished! I loved the screen shake as well as the particle effects!
Fun little game, the platforming is pretty difficult at times. The movement was nice, I liked the different wall jumps you could do. The game seems very fast paced, and can be expanded on nicely I think. Good job!
This game as certainly well polished and pretty entertaining to play! I love the color changes everytime you get a new budzia and the parkour you manaded to add, although the red background on black kind of made it a bit unpleasant for me somewhat. I would of loved it if this had more levels though, but overall, this was an awesome game entry!
Also, the sprite couldn't turn sometimes to destroy the bricks. It didnt affect the gameplay much, but I just wanted to throw that out. :D
Can't say that it fits the theme perfectly but i like the concept of it! The puzzle an enjoyable too! Good game!

That screen shake is incredibly awesome! Difficult at times, but definitely doable! Great job :D
Art style and color palette feel very unique. The game is not as challenging as i thought it would be - at least till I try deathless run... good that it is optional. Also wall jump is a bit to sticky, I mean, you slide down really slow, and you cant fall off the wall by simply pressing opposite direction key. Overall , great entry with just minor issues. I would appreciate if you check out my game!
Really love the game mechanics of this game the sound effects are on point. The controls are a bit hard to get used to but other than a very polished 2D platformer
i think you did a wonderful job with the movement in general. it's very difficult to make maneuvering around a platforming game feel satisfying, especially when you only have a short time to do it. the art is easy on the eyes and everything's purpose is very clear. my only suggestion would be to give the player an option to remap the punch to a keyboard button. good job!!
Dude, you are so stinking good at this. The game was amazing! I've wanted to try this low bit style for like 4 or 5 different games and had to start over because they just didn't look right, but you nailed it. Controls are tight, game is fun, took me awhile to realize the guns only shot when you jumped, but that was part of the fun of learning the game! Music was ok too I guess ;) crank that up to 11 though! Finished it with 20 deaths.
