Omg, i can not believe this thing could be done in a week, the graphic, sound and UI just super polish, also the game have a great great atmosphere, color and game feel.
Great job!

In what way does your game fit the theme?
It ties in the strength you get with the one you love. Or at least, based on the demo it'll seem that way.
Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Aside from in-game props and a few sounds, the entirety was made by me.
I've always looked up to Obra Dinn Lucas Pope before Obra Dinn when that game was in production. The look and feel was ripe with giving retro aesthetics a new life in a new medium. Definitely something I wanted to experiment with for the first time in my indie career. Glad you liked it! The new shader system comes closer to the aesthetic than the demo.
Will be showing off new screenshots in tomorrow's first post-gamejam announcement. Def stay in touch and stick around. :)
Wow! This is so professional... I wouldn't have guessed that it's a game jam entry, just a demo. There are even animated menus and a variety of settings O.o
I love when games tackle psychological themes as I would say they are the best medium for that.
The visuals are great, so is sound design. I also like the little text animations.
Really amazing atmosphere overall, genuinely scary. I very much enjoyed it, great job!
Hectic! I was genuinely scared - the heartbeat sound with the other sounds works really well. And I enjoyed the art style as well!
The UI is amazing, there's even an options menu! That's super cool. One thing i didn't like is that the animations are too slow, sometimes i accidently clicked on a door and had to wait for solid 5 - 6 second for the animation to finish. That's the only complain i have, other than that it is an amazing game.
This game is different from most of the games in this jam or any jam. I really love the graphic and the story, and obviously, there is a big story behind it, I'm looking forward to seeing it.
Some suggestions:
1. I think the sound is still worth improving. A piece of good background music and some sound effect would add more to the atmosphere.
2. Maybe add more animated items. I think it might be a time limit reason, but I really like the grass at the front door. maybe something randomly moves, a shadow, or a water drop, might add some flavor in the game.
All in all, I really like this game. Followed you and want to see a full version of it!
Thanks for the suggestions. I can definitely get behind all of that and I think I can push a bit more on how things can be more animated and interactive. I love interactivity so I think I can make that work in the grand scheme of things. Definitely more audio, tho the reason why I didn't include any music was to prevent taking too much time on scoring it, but that will definitely be something to come at least when I start releasing alpha/beta builds leading up to the full release.
Glad to have you on board. :)
I like the graphics and game design, just the fit into the theme seems a little bit confusing. Can't wait to see what happened with Chris.
Please feel free to rate and play my game
Really liked the music, art and the ambience it would be great if you could get a bit more background for he husband since you barely know him and the dialogue choices don't really have much weight due to that, but i guess since it's a demo it will get more content added, I can see it's going in a good direction keep it up.
I loved this, the interaction brought me back to a bunch obscure adventure games I played as a kid and the old print style of rendering works very well with it too. I loved that there were more rooms to walk around and really had the urge to explore the house. Great job.
This is such an amazing game and I'm blown away with what you can achieve in such a short amount of time. The artistic style is so unique and the sound design, especially in the tenser segments of the game, is so brilliant at conveying the emotions of the character and the intensity of the situation. I can't wait to see the game be further developed and would definitely pay good money for a full release!
I must say the game looks and feels and plays incredible. It's amazing what you've achieved in just one week. I love the overall art style of the game making it look all grainy like seeing it through an old crt tv. Additionally the story is well written and I love that certain words have additional effects like the characters bouncing around very nice detail and I also really enjoy that the character seem to react (for example I already got the cake form the kitchen and got a corresponding reaction).
Overall amazing game and I really enjoy the amount of polish that has gone into this game.
Glad you caught the cake choice. That sort of thing I want to capture throughout the game. Then again, I tend to always incorporate choices in my designs, no matter how small it is.
Glad you liked the text effects. Wrote the interpreter during the Jam, so it was fun experimenting with different functions I wouldn't have done in previous works. Definitely stay in touch. Hope you get a chance to play the full game in the future!
