The game was really fun and i really loved the aesthetic. Also it was really cool and I honestly wouldnt know that it was made in that short of a time period.

Developer

Thanks for your nice comment. I´m happy that you liked my game and had some fun with it :D.

Cool game!!! just loved the aesthetic of the game! The idea itself is really good too and, as I've read in the comments, an AI would do great in this game. Really nice job!

I would really appreciate if you could check out my game!!!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

I´m happy that you liked my game. Thanks. Of course I´ll rate your game.

Submitted

Like the game only problem is that I have no friends ;-;

Developer(+1)

I´ve just added a trailer so you can have a closer look at the gameplay. I´ve also just rated your game.

Thanks

The sound effect made the game fun. The game was kind of basic as the abilities didn't help you catch your opponent.

Developer

Thanks for your nice comment. I´m glad that you like my sound effects. The abilities were mostly made for dodging the other player and with some luck you can even rewind your opponent next to you so you can catch him/her :D.

Really fun game, the premise and everything down to the sounds was really enjoyable. I played this with another person and we both were really getting into the game. We found a bug where you don't progress to the next level after someone wins, so we had to play on what i assume from your screenshots is the first level, which had this big white text on the screen which was kind of obstructing our level. Regardless we still had fun! there is a lot of potential in this concept and the fun character sprites along with the sounds fit nicely with the vibe of the game.

I would add a computer opponent for those who cant experience the full game due to not having a controller or person to play with. It is really f u n.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your nice comment. I also had that bug while testing but after some time it idn´t appear again so I thought I fixed. it accidentally. Actually I don´t know how to fix this but I´ll try my best.

A lot of people are asking for an AI so I´ll try my best to add it after the rating period.

The game looks nice. i like the graphics. i think you cant do much or see much of the game without a second player and controller. but i try doing all the abilities i could has a lone player lol. I like the Graphics, the animation and effects. the music goes along nicely. being able to fight against an AI would have been a perfect option, maybe that would have been to hard to implement in time. But if you are alone you cant play the game and an ai would have made a big difference. Overall nice game and it deserves a high rating :) multiplayer is a powerful feature in game. Just got to make sure to be able to play alone too :D

Developer (2 edits) (+1)

Thanks for your nice comment. I´m happy that you like the music because I think it´s very annoying :D.

I had no time to add more features since the time was nearly over. A lot of people said that they can´t play because they are alone.

I decided to add this feature after the rating period. I hope I can do this since I never used AI.

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! Once we got it working with the controller this was a lot of fun! We really enjoyed the sound effects and the overall aesthetic and game feel was really nice. It did take us a couple of stages to figure out how to play but you could fix this by just adding a simple tutorial in a post-jam version. Keep up the good work! I would also suggest making it so two players can play on the keyboard just to make it more accessible as not everyone owns a gamepad. Still a great submission!

Developer(+1)

I am happy to hear that you enjoyed my game. Thanks for your suggestion what I could improve.
Unfortunately I had not time to add Tutorial (also because I new did one for a game) so I put it into the description.
Unfortunately it is not that easy to make it that to two player can play on one keyboard with the new Unity Inputsystem but I´ll try to add it.
:D

Submitted

Yeah it is quite fiddly with the new input system to do it "properly" but it can be done though! I'm sure you're up to the task!

Developer

Do you know any script to like "split" the keyboard into two devices?

Submitted(+1)

Sadly not. The quick and dirty solution I can think of off the top of my head is just having a single Input Action asset that has actions for both first and second player and then have a input controller GameObject that sets the inputs of both the first player and the second player. I'm not sure how this would work when a controller is connected though so it'll get a bit complex from there. I hope this is helpful!

Developer(+1)

Interesting idea but then it would probable not work with controllers and both player would join at once. Thanks anyway

Submitted(+1)

Oh yeah that is true. There is probably a janky workaround in there somewhere. Tell me if you find a solution! It's a problem I have come across on occasion too. I usually just go back to the old one in those cases :p

Submitted(+1)

I like the graphics, and the voices are so funny ahahah but unfortunately I have not a gamepad. Can I play with just the keyboard?

Developer (1 edit)

Unfortunately not.
It´s a hard to make a second player on one device in the new Input system. I´ll try to patch it into the game after the rating period is over.

Submitted(+1)

Fun game! I loved sounds especially the "Whee" while rewinding. Way to go on the controller support too!

Developer

I´m happy to here this. Thanks!

Hey! so sadly I cannot rate your game as it is a .rar file. If you would be willing to send me a .zip file, I can play it, but since I do not have WinRAR installed I can't extract it.

Developer

I think it is a .zip file. You could also try to use the WebGL build.

Submitted

Opp, sorry! I posted this in the wrong comments section. I was meaning to respond to a different game

Developer

no problem :D

Submitted(+2)

Is this a multiplayer game only? That makes it hard for jams since voters tend to be single players and don't usually have a second player than can jump in as need to play with. Sorry, I could not get the full experience. Maybe make a video to see what the game is all about for those who cannot play multplayer. That might help at least understand the goal especially since you put so much effort into building everything during the jam.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for your nice comment. While the rating period I noticed that it is hard to get ratings with a multiplayer game, especially a local multiplayer game. For my next game jam I'll perhaps make a singleplayer game. Since it's my first game jam, I'm just happy that I finished a game.

Iike the idea to make a video about the gameplay. I'll try to do that as soon as I can.

Submitted(+1)

Really wanted to see this. But it was only multiplayer.

Art looked amazing. I will still rate you what I can! Good job!

Could you also play and rate my game?

Thank you! I am glad that you like the art of my game. At the moment I am not at home but as soon as I am back I'll play your game.

I sadly don't have friends to play with but the game looks cool :)

Developer

Thanks. Maybe you will find somebody to play with.

Submitted(+1)

good game well done. love the sounds effects and the art.

Developer

Thanks! I happy that you like my game.
I´ll try your game too.

Submitted(+1)

I played it with my sister (after finding out that the game was a multiplayer-only title after quite a while) , but it was kinda difficult to get what we were supposed to do.

The concepts behind the game are interesting and quite original, therefore they are in great need to be explained to the player. I'm also not that sure about having both the power to rewind the opponent and yourself, maybe the latter would be enough, but it's just some random thought.

I think you could work more on this to make it a small multiplayer gem (but you should add support for two player to play on the same keyboard), good job!

p.s.: 10/10 sounds effects

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your nice comment. I´m really happy that you liked my game because it´s my third game created and I´ve participated in a game jam the first time.
In the end I ran out of time. That´s why I had to put the tutorial in the description. I´ve changed my banner with a note that the tutorial is in the description.
After the rating time is over I´ll try to make it possible to play on one keyboard or is it allowed to make small changes during the rating period?
I´ll have a look at your game too.

Submitted(+1)

Running out of time and disregarding tutorials and such is a problem that I always had too, indeed this game jam was the only time in which I actually saved time for those things, ahahah.

Usually it is not allowed to make changes during the rating period, except for fixing game breaking bugs, but you can work on it and upload it later!

Developer

Thanks. I´ve just searched for letting players play on one keyboard but it seems like there´s no good solution for doing that with the new Input System. Do you know how to do that?

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

From your nickname I assume you're using Unity, so I can't really help you with that, since I use Godot to make games. But still, I think that the simplest thing you could do is to have to have the first player controllable with WASD and Q/E/F and the second player controllable with the arrow keys and something like J/K/L I guess.
