How does the game fit the theme?
This is a game about one of the riskiest mechanics in gaming, the parry. At the same time, the hero is risking everything for his bisuit, which is the way he calls his love, who has been taken away by an evil mage.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
All code and art were made for the jam.

All songs were created by xDeviruchi, who grants permission for their use. Here they are in the order that they appear in the game:

Falling Apart (Prologue)

Decisive Battle 2 - The Calamity

Final Battle - For Love

The Final of The Fantasy

All sound effects made with https://sfxr.me/ and https://www.bfxr.net/.

I was fun. I really enjoyed the music

Neat, the boss fight was tough, art and music felt very undertalesy. fun lil bullet hell, good stuff.

Developer

Thank you so much. Undertale is the reason I first got motivated to make games so I love hearing that. Thank you very much for trying my game.

I liked how the intensity progressed with the game. The final fight was definitely tough! Nice entry, I agree that it would have been nice to be able to replay within the game, but that's minor. The music was also very cool and reminded me of old Final Fantasy games (in a very good way). Great effort!

Developer

Thank you so much for your comment. I completely agree and it will be the first thing I add after the jam. Thank you so much for playing

Very fun game! Nice choice with the music for the miniboss and boss fights, really got me hyped up

Developer

Thank you very much for your comment! I am really glad you enjoyed the game

I spent 20 minutes on this and couldn't win. Please add a save mechanic in the future.

Developer

Thank you for trying out the game, I am sorry if it was frustrating to play. I plan on expanding the game and adding checkpoints as well as a way to restart quickly. Thank you very much for your comment.

I really liked the concept of only being able to parry enemy attacks. I don't know if I've seen that as the main game mechanic of a game before. One bit of feedback I would give is to add a game over screen with a restart button. Other than that this was an awesome game. Well done! You should totally check out my game. It's very rage inducing in a good way. Feedback and a rating would be greatly appreciated :).

Developer

Thank you very much. I originally wanted to include a death screen where the hero would receive a letter from the princess, which would motivate them to try again. However, I crammed too many things in on the last day and didn't have time for that. I will definitely look into it if I expand the game later. Thank you for your comment. I will absolutely check out your game the moment I have time.

Nice use of the music. The parrying was fun. It was challenging but doable. It must have taken a dozen tries to beat it.

+1 for a restart button. Having to reload wasn't ideal.

Developer(+1)

Definitely the first thing I would add. Thank you very much for your comment

Having to parry almost rythm-like to not get hit and have to quit the game and start all over made this game very excitign and thrilling. I think with more enemies, sprites and mechanics, this game would be fully fledged.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much. I'm thinking about later on making this a mobile game with a lot more polish and content. Thank you very much for playing.

Was more challenging than i initially thought but not too hard. Good decision to call the person “Biscuit”, very fitting for the Theme. It’s also quite fun that the page in the browser looks like it extends the game but another thing i noticed while playing in the browser, is that sometimes the music would not play.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for letting me know. I noticed that once, but thought it wouldn't happen again. Thank you very much for your feedback

I really liked the top-down style, also changing the direction of projectiles. The pixel art also is well made, animations..., good job! Just that part when you lose and you need to reload the page makes the experience difficult, but the game is really awesome.

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much for your comment. I'm not an artist, but I put a ton of time into trying to figure out 8-way animations for the player. Thank you very much.

Pretty fun game and a silly wholesome story. Having to quit the game to try again is a bit annoying (especially in browser).

Developer(+1)

Very true, that is definitely the first thing I would add if I had more time. Thank you very much for the comment.

Parrying projectiles is fun! Nice and light hearted dialogue.

Developer

Thank you very much. I am glad you enjoyed it!

What a beautiful game all-round! The visuals were crisp, the animations solid and the sound design fit perfectly! The gameplay was a little challenging for me (in a fun way). Love the take on the theme as well, definitely a solid candidate for the win.

Took me a few tries to get the hang of it, but after that it was great. As someone else mentioned a feedback noise or sprite flicker when you take damage would be a good addition. Love the music.

Developer

Thanks a bunch, I'll definitely take that feedback into consideration for future games or if I update this one after the jam. Thank you

Hey! Your game description and playthrough is hilarious. It was really endearing and I found my self smiling from ear to ear starting it up because of the silliness and drama of the story.

The audio is amazing and fits perfectly and the parry collider feels great.

Would only suggest an audio cue of when you take damage to make it more evident.

Great game jam entry! I subscribed to your YouTube. Buena suerte, bro!

Thank you very much

Any chance you can add a web playable version before the 48 hour grace period is up? This looks awesome and i'd love to play, but I'm unfortunately not on windows.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for your comment. I will look into this tommorrow as I need to sleep now. Thank you.

Developer(+1)

I have added a web playable version! I hope it works well and that you enjoy it. Thank you very much again for the comment.

Glad you got this working! I really enjoyed it. I love parry mechanics in games, and the boss gives me big Yume Nikki vibes, so I really wanted to check this out! Plus music from Deviruchi! ;)

Really nice little game, the parry felt good, it felt challenging, but never unfair. And a really cute ending. Congrats on getting this done in a week!

Developer

Thank you so much for your comment and for the recommendation. I think making the game work on the web has made it much easier to play for everyone else. Thank you so much. I take the Yume Nikki comparison as a big compliment, thank you again.
