Was more challenging than i initially thought but not too hard. Good decision to call the person “Biscuit”, very fitting for the Theme. It’s also quite fun that the page in the browser looks like it extends the game but another thing i noticed while playing in the browser, is that sometimes the music would not play.
I think this is a really good execution of the Theme and the art-style looks really good. Only having one bullet made it quite thrilling once it was shot because you were more vulnerable which was a nice way to add risk. The ricochet made it possible to make some trick shots with the wall, obstacles and enemies and once I got the hang of it, I found it quite fun to do. It’s also quite awesome that there are multiple enemy types which makes this less repetitive.
The Visuals look awesome and it’s impressive that you made most models during the Jam. This Game reminded me a bit of Dome Keeper but in 3D and instead of a cave to mine, there is a Labyrinth, but it was well executed in my opinion. I loved the way the Turret worked, that you have to move it from side to side which adds to the risk. I also found it great that the Game had explanations, when needed, to know what to press. One thing that put me a bit off was, that there was a difference off movement between the start and the Labyrinth especially the head movement but it fit the grid layout of the Labyrinth and worked well.
First of thank you for commenting. This was my first full Game made in 3D so I’m happy that the Graphics and Animations worked out well and that I finished the Game in time. I’m already planing to make a version after the Jam that would give the player more strategy and less randomness, with getting rid of shuffling the Guns.
Thank you for this insightful feedback. There is definitely a lot of polish missing which would help the game to feel better. As always with a Game Jam I wanted to add a lot more mechanics which would have made it a lot more interesting but there was not enough time for me to add them. The idea for the soundtrack sounds fitting with the style, which would be a nice addition.
It was really fun to race against yourself and to hit every object beside the track. I liked that every timeline has a different looking car and the challenge to avoid you past self made it more challenging the more laps i cleared, which i thought was done well.
But I found it a little bit annoying, that the touch controls for mobile were visible when playing on desktop in the Browser. The game’s UI did not scale perfectly to a 16:9 monitor and cuts off a bit on both the left and right edges. I guess this game is optimized for widescreen.
Nonetheless all the negatives i listed did not really affect the fun I had and still worked great on desktop.
Good to hear that you liked the Art and the Concept. The Player animation probably looks so good because it took me like half a day to do it right. The rest of the sprites didn't take me nearly as much time, but I am happy with how it turned out.
I definitely plan to do more with it because I think there is a lot of potential.
And thank you for your feedback and for playing my Game.
The Ghost definitely could use some rework if I would continue the development, and there really isn't a Storm, it's more like a warning and if you don't listen to the warning you just die.
But that's pretty much i, I originally wanted this Game to have some more interesting features, but there was not enough time to add them.
And I should have playtested more.
But thank you for playing my game regardless, and I appreciate your feedback. With all your critiques, that's really useful to know.
