How does your game fit the theme?
During the calm the player can build defenses to protect the island during the storm.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
No. I added the building mechanic to a game I already had made.

This is a really cool entry!  I really like that it's a turn based game, and you've got some good juice with it!  The attack sound effect sounds good, hovering over units gives them a nice highlight with HP info, I really like a lot of the polish that's here.  The pixel art is really fun as well, the red sword person reminds me of a Final Fantasy Red Mage and that made me smile.

If you plan on improving this game, two things I'd take a look at are some tutorials and moving the player units.
Tutorials are tough to get in during a jam, but once you get your mechanics locked in try and get one in there!  I didn't realize the game was turn based until nothing was happening after the build phase, I didn't notice the end turn button.

Unit movement I'd try and make it if a unit doesn't use all their movement, you can click on them again to move once more.  I accidentally moved my units too short, and wished I could fix it.  I was also unclear how far the bow could attack from so moving that unit was awkward.  I think these two things alone might make the biggest improvement to the game.

Amazing job!

I think the game is fun, but to improve it I think it misses input. At one point I had a grass selected indefinitely and couldn't continue the game since I think it broke.

Also in the beginning if you get only med as option I think you just lose the game, so I think some balancing tweaks may be needed to improve the game.

Other than that I actually think the game was pretty fun , nice job on this!

At wave 10 (cleared 9) the game started with an enemy from the previous wave, I attacked him, then it skipped my turn immediately and he just finished my temple for reasons :<

Obviously I’m not gonna say the game is pretty, but some juice is here, there is music, sounds, animations, the game is quite clear as to how to play, appart from the fact you can move around with WASD, I found about it after my run D= You should definitely add it in the description.

I liked the simple gameplay of placing a building, then it spawns a unit, very easy to tackle.

Thank you for playing.

Nice game! I think strategy-wise, I was just running away from enemies, so idk if the strategy design would work well enough for a full game. My other recommendation would be to work on graphics, the UI doesn't look so nice in my opinion, also the rain should not move with the screen probably. Anyway, it's still quite an achievement making all that content on you own so still a pretty good job overall!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. I`ve always been horrible with UI so I definitely agree with you on that. Some better enemy AI would probably help with the "just running away" problem as currently they don`t choose new targets often and when they do its completely random.

This game is truly impressive! The attention to detail and the thoughtfulness in its design make it a standout experience. It’s clear that a lot of passion went into creating it, and it absolutely pays off. You've done an incredible job—keep up the amazing work!

I glad you enjoyed it so much.

Very simple concept but very well executed. A couple points I think could be improved on would be adding sound, and also some indication as to the range of your own and enemy units would be nice as it’s a little bit hard to tell if your units are in danger, but otherwise, nice job!

Developer

That's weird. You're the second person to say there isn't sound when there is. Either I made it way too quite or there's some kind of glitch.

Hee-ho. Good, nice game

Was a simple game but had a lot of features. One thing I think you could improve is making it easier to get gold. I really wanted to buy lots of buildings but never seemed to have enough money. Great entry!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback. The reason I set the gold so low was I didn't want the player the flood the map with units because I was worried it could cause lag. It's only a web game after all.

I liked the simple but good pixel art, and the game has quite a big variety of buildings.

Love the retro style! Simple and works great with lot of features for a jam. Well done!

I`m glad you enjoyed it.

Cool game! Very clear what you need to do, it's a bit of a pity that there's no sound. Besides that, well done

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. However, I`m a bit confused because there is sound. I may have made it a bit quiet though so you might try adjusting your volume.
