How does the game fit the theme?
The player has to trigger consequences as they move around. There is the risk of getting hurt or getting interrupted, but they also have the chance of getting rewarded with a heal or interesting notes (and probably a biscuit, too).
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?

love the idea of the game ^b^, mechanics are actually pretty unique and interesting and i think its what sells the game
I love the idea and how the mechanics are implemented, but at some point the breath mechanic stopped working for me. Still one of the coolest ideas!
Really atmospheric game, great job!
The manual breathing mechanic is very unique, never seen that before. Took me some time to figure out, then I got it consistent to full light, but later struggled to get anything more than dim light. My timing probably just got worse, but I think some more feedback what the timing should be would be helpful.
I really appreciate how you avoided a HUD by showing health with the brightness of the character and put the tutorial as markings on the floor. It makes everything more immersive!
You really nailed the ambience with the combination of the art style and audio! It might just be me but I found myself just interacting with every consequence I found so there wasn't a lot of risk there. I was a big fan of the tutorial section using the mechanics and actually walking you through how to play while still keeping with the overall theme of the game, very well executed!
At some point, I ran out of light and I couldn't see anything. It was kinda hard, but I like it! Good job! :)
I have the same issue as Noraic had. I’m just playing on a PC using chrome with a normal wired mouse. I see the breathing mechanic working kind of, but it doesn’t seem to add enough each time you breathe, meanwhile during exhale the light is shrinking very fast. I’d love to play the game but it’s kind of hard without the light.
Man, this game is pretty good platforming game. yet it's quite hard to control the light, and i cant restart from checkpoint i keep restart the game to restart it. Great game thougt!
Oh, that is a good scenario to bring up. I did try to rush a Main Menu screen but with only 4 hours left till submission, we decided against it.
But you're right! Having the ability to restart the game in your own time (not only when your health reaches zero) makes so much sense!
Thank you for trying out our game!

I will be reviewing games later when I'm finished with my outside-dev life and I'll make sure to play your game :3
I really wanted to enjoy this game! Looks and sounds gorgeous and I love the concept. But for some reason, I'm not able to click to breathe to make my character glow after the second level, no matter what I did. In fact, every time I "breathed", the character got dimmer until there was no glow at all. I even refreshed the page a couple of times hoping it would fix. So was not very much fun when the whole thing was dark unfortunately.

I'm sorry, noraic. If it isn't much trouble, can you let me know if you played in a PC or laptop, mouse or touchpad, and which browser you used? I did get some feedback (from family and friends) that the breathing mechanic is quite hard to grasp and it's something I will re-designed when I update the game.
Thank you for trying the game still.
(⌒_⌒;)
I shall play your game later when I get home!
Hey Pang, sure thing. I played on PC using a mouse in Chrome. Would definitely want to give it a try again once you're able to update it! Hope that helps!
Love The breathing Mechanic :D , Never seen anything like this and combining this with the candle was a perfect mix of ideas as Candles need oxygen to Keep lit, essentially breathing. One point of note i did end up breaking the breathing indicator because i spam clicked it XD. But other than that the game was pretty fun, Even if i couldn't reach the end of the 3rd maze :D
RATED: 10/10
Nice one! I enjoyed it
A really clever take on the theme. I loved the mechanics with the breathing system. The atmosphere, visuals and music gave it this sense of ethereal while holding some eeriness. Well done!
The atmosphere of this one is really well done and taking risks was nicely implemented here.
Keep up the good work!
This is such a cool game, concept and art. Everything feels so well done! Such a unique idea, executed so well. The only nitpick:
Overall one of my fav idea/game so far.
Thank you for playing and for the kind feedback!

I did consider making the player faster when they are in full health. But the idea came when there was only two hours left to submit and we were having issues.
( ̄▽ ̄*)ゞ
But you're right, I think faster movement would be a good improvement.
I actually found it kind of relaxing tbh. The inhaling mechanic was really unique and in a way it made me "breath" with the character. I really enjoyed your art and the special effects and tbh would like more content of this kind!
Great work :)
This comment makes me happy!
(*˘︶˘*).。.:*♡
The intention I had when developing the game is to help people become conscious with their breathing. Deep, conscious breathing reduce stress. With how the world is right now, I think we need some time to pause and just be.
Thank you so much for giving my game a try and for your kind feedback. Really appreciate it ♡
i think its really fun! but tbh sometimes i felt there wasnt a risk, like for example if there was a risk bubble right outside a hazard, it was always a heal ( from what i got, maybe i was just lucky )
also had a similar issue to someone else in the comments who could see in the dark bc of screen brightness, the one teleporty level seemed to actually lower the problem of that, since you couldnt really cheat it
In the first stages, I did nudge the probability so that the player almost always gets a heal from being damaged from the previous level. But after the level "Enemy" the buttons are pretty much random, so you are indeed lucky!
Yeah... The brightness thingy was because I did not understand Godot's 2D lighting system. I think I'll use a Clipping mask or convert it to a 2.5D game instead :P
Thank you for playing and for your thoughtful feedback!

It also had a lot of potential to be a kind of analog 2D horror, and I loved playing with darkness and light. Honestly, I had fun with the desperation of having to breathe and not seeing anything at all.
I love/hate horror games (It's complex!) and my partner did tell me to make it into a top-down 2D Slenderman-like game, but I wasn't sure I could pull it off.
But you know what? I might give it a horror version and release it for Halloween.

I am sooo interested in one of your games (the Trastorno) but I don't speak Spanish, unfortunately. I followed you in case you give it an English-translated version.
( ´ ꒳ ` )
Haha, the same thing happens to me with horror games, but I think this installment is going well, so I'll wait until October to see it.
Ooh, and thank you very much. In fact, Disturbance was also an attempt at horror, so we'll be releasing an English version soon so you can try it.
so so so cool!
what a relaxing vibe, I was breathing along with it for a while ahahah
it was tough to remember to be breathing and exploring while trying to play the game.
PS the way you introduce mechanics in an interactive way is the BEST thing. Outstanding design work there :)

You are sooo kind. My goal in this game jam was to practice game designing (especially designing levels) and your comment gives me hope that I will eventually make well-designed games in the future. Thank you!
And yes! In real life, breathing is an automatic activity that we tend to minimise its importance in our day-to-day lives. The game tells you that it's good to pause and be conscious of your breathing. It helps clear your head especially during stressful events (like taking risks!)
I hope you and your wife (and Nibbles) continue making games. I will look forward to your future games and perhaps we will stumble upon each other in the next game jam!
°˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°
i'll tell you a secret, nibbles is not real 😂 nibbles is just the cat in the game
(But we do have a dog called rolo and he is very sweet)
BETRAYAL!
(ノಥ益ಥ)ノ
But for Rolo, I forgive you.

Really interesting concept! Kinda spooky somehow as well. I think my monitor brightness settings are set a little bit high, so I may have been cheating a bit and reading all the messages over the levels through the darkness.
Keep it up!
Hey, thanks for stopping by and giving the game a try!
(⌒ω⌒)
Remember CanvasModulate? Yeah, I couldn't get it to work so I ended up making a Node with really low alpha value to make it look like it's dark. If the alpha value was 0, you won't see the light at all, unfortunately.
But shhhh... Don't tell anyone about that secret!
(„ಡωಡ„)
And I am glad you read the messages. Now I know at least one person got trolled...
(ง ื▿ ื)ว
i don't think i quite got a hang of the breathing mechanic, very ominous tho!
Thank you for trying it out still! The game is meant to teach conscious breathing (like the breathing exercises for calming down) so the player is meant to pause, breathe and continue forward
Your feedback is quite useful, though! That means I need to work on how to introduce the mechanic better :D
I'll pay your game page a visit. I don't think I have played your game yet :3
