Enjoyed the music. A mini-map mechanic would've really helped. Wasn't sure what to do with all the water. I had 12 breads and still died. I wasn't able to make it to the portal. Environment was nice. Well done!

I had a pretty cool experience, but unfortunately, I didn’t make it through. The music was really nice. Overall, it was a great game that ran smoothly on my browser. Kudos to the developers!

Submitted(+1)

It played very well on my browser despite being 3d, congratz!

The game is really confusing, like I can't figure out where to go. Also the music is out of place.
Maybe with some thing that could help you to know where to go and a different music if could be way better.

It was an interesting experience! I died :-( Had a hard time finding wheat or tomatoes.  The music was nice to listen to while on the hike!  Nice entry :-)

Developer

Thanks!

cool graphics, it froze a bit via browser, good game

Developer

Yeah, I did my best to avoid that, but it still lags pretty hard on the browser.

Pressing ESC and quitting the game without warning is very hard. I can't stop pressing ESC to leave the crafting menu. Other than that, good job!

Developer(+1)

Yeah, I should have thought of that. lol.

This was a really cool game, the music made a lot to immerse myself into the story.

I loved the mechanic to craft the cookie to feed you, even though, maybe the hunger bar was going down too quickly for my taste. I also couldn't really find where to go, as there was food everywhere, but not a clear path.

Nonetheless, I really enjoyed playing it, the controls were smooth (If we forget about the camera twitch time to time), and it was kinda fun to explore the world.

Please, continue to makes game, keep the good work!

Developer

Thank you! I will definitely keep making games!

Environment and movement was great! Sometimes the camera kept clipping on me, but that was probably just me. I couldn't manage to find the portal, but it was still a good survival game!!

Developer

Thank you!

really stunning! absolutely loved the environment design and the simplicity of the gameplay!

Really impressive scale for a jam! Enjoyed this one quite a bit, and really liked the mountains and environment design!
Great submission!

Thank you!

A simple and good gameplay loop. I didn't find the portal but did find the movement good

Developer

Thank you!

Spent a while on it, and couldn't really figure out where to go. Beyond that, I think the music choice was a bit jarring, and got pretty grating after a while. Still a very unique idea, that with polish could be something very good! Making something of that size work at all for a jam seems impressive, so nice work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I do think the music was a bit off and I didn't really give any guidance as to where you're trying to go. We started 3 days late, so we didn't really have time to polish. lol.

Submitted

Such is the way with jams I suppose. Even more impressive since you started so late honestly.

Developer(+1)

Haha! Thanks!

Interesting game, though id recommend the hand crosshair to not be so big, especially not in the middle of the screen, always enabled. Other than that, a fun little game, nice crafting mechanic and pretty slick map. Keep Up The Good Work

Thanks!

Didn't find the bride or the portal. But I collected food like a gremlin and ate it all until I fell in the water. Nice music

Developer

Hahaha! Thanks!

Didn't expect to see a survival game! Very enjoyable despite its simplicity!

Developer

Thank you!

Great game! I wasn't able to find the portal. Not sure if anyone else experienced this, or if this was just intentional game design, but the movement/looking around felt very jittery. Possibly because of lag? Otherwise, great game!

Developer(+1)

Yeah, my best guess was that it had to do with the object physics, but i couldn't pin it down in time for submission.

Submitted

That's okay! It was still playable!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Ah, that's good! Lol.

You mean the player's direction facing suddenly flipping around? That's because the game's just tracking the mouse position, but the mouse is still there, so when you reach one end of the screen with the mouse, it teleports to the other end, else it can't keep going

That teleportation is what causes you to suddenly look in a different direction, idk how you could fix it though

Developer

The game actually tracks mouse delta, so it is not effected  by the end of screen. The issue is that a sudden drop of framerate causes the delta value to spike. Something somewhere in the code is causing the framerate to be over compensated.

Submitted

No, it does indeed track mouse delta, but it's not the frames being weird

Think about it, your mouse is all the way on the right side of your screen at like x = 1280, y = 200, and then teleports to the other side of the screen to x = 0, y = 200, turning your mouse delta to (-1280, 0), causing the giant flip

It's not lagspikes, just start spinning in circles and you'll see it happens constantly

Developer

The mouse doesn't teleport though. When there's a lag spike, the mouse moves much more in one frame because that frame is longer. Something in the code is overcompensating for that and making it jump. The cursor is snapped back to center every frame, so it never reaches an edge. If you move the camera around when there's no lag spike, there will be no jumping around. There is no teleporting of the muse cursor. Some games have that, this one doesn't.

Good work on this game. I feel the music would probably have fit better if rain was lashing down and the trees were swaying the wind. :)

Didn't manage to find the portal, but looking quite hard.

Not sure what you used to build this, but good work on the 3d character movement and rendering. Solid effort and creating a barebones walking sim.

I wonder if you could also allow the user to place a marker in the distance with the central cursor and then there is a pointer towards that, so a bit like the compass and quest marker in many games, but it is just the dropped pin from the 3d view to allow the user to remain locked on. You could even have the user being able to climb up for a view and then add multiple markers to go and explore for in the future. Not sure where you are taking this, but ideas for thought.

Great work team!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! That's actually a great idea!

This game has a lot going well for it and seems like it may be randomly generated? In which case thats really impressive given the scale of the terrain, though there does seem to be a bit of a glitch/bug out when it re-renders so may be something to flush out. Like others have said it likely requires a bit more guidance and direction in terms of where to go and continue the journey. Many games have visual cues or subtle or not so subtle hints about where to go and proceed. Also maybe a little less of a journey to the next checkpoint or interesting encounter would keep the player engaged and follow along for the entire journey. I like where the game is going and programatically must have been a beast to do in a week. Congrats on the submission!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! It is indeed random. We actually started 3 days late, so it was certainly a lot of work. lol.
