How does the game fit the theme?
At first, there are fake trolls that won't actually kill the player. Things may take a turn...
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
The player graphics, music and sound effects. Proper credits are in the game. Shaders and filters were made following YouTube tutorials

Fun little platformer with a nice twist. The random map changes doesn't feel unfair, but it would be nice for the player if somewhat warns him about that. For example make the spikes wiggle for a second before you move them. Also the hitboxes of the spikes were a bit to big. The level design was good!
Fun game, really enjoyed the gameplay and the level design was really good! I also enjoyed going through the level twice but with extra twists! A few things though:
- I don't think the controls made it very fun as a precision platformer. The best way to improve this is by giving the player lots of control while controlling the character, such as the use of variable jump height or allowing them to jump for a small window after leaving the ground.
- I couldn't see how the game fits with the theme, mostly because of a lack of context. This doesn't have to be a full-fledged story but I think giving the player a short description of why their in-game goals are is useful to giving the player context as to why they're playing.
Overall though, I think this was good fun especially the gameplay so congrats!
It was frustrating but somehow still kept me playing XD. I think you did a great job building in a sense of humor with just a few gameplay elements!
Really fun and got a few genuine chuckles from me. You walked the line between rage and funny really well and I love how you designed the levels/checkpoint system so it wasn't too frustrating. Really great job on this game!
Fun little game, perhaps the first in this game jam I actually played from start to finish. Challenging, occasionally unfair but since the checkpoints were generously placed it felt more like comedy than frustrating. Fine line but you got it right imo. Nice twist in the middle with the level design 😉 How did you do the pixel death animation?
As a suggestion, I would make the death collision on the spikes a little narrower such that I can touch them from the side without dying.
A very nice platformer. I liked the fact that the traps were well signaled by the placement of the coins and the overall nature of the traps felt friendly rather than antagonistic!
A couple of potential comments: 1) It would be nice to include some flexibility for players by making it slightly easier to avoid traps and easier to land on platforms (roadrunner time, etc.); 2) I found the movement speed and responsiveness to be a bit slow when controlling the character.
Other than that, great work!
I liked the game. It wasn’t too hard and it was simple and fun. The animations are decent. Visuals are plain but alright. What was the use for the coins? I would have liked it if the trolls were at least all possible to avoid, if you, for example, knew about them.
played and rated!
really nice little platformer, loved the death/respawn effect :)
It took me longer than it should've to beat this game but there are some really tough jumps in there! I think this game would really benefit from adaptive jumping to make the character easier to control. I would highly recommend this tutorial:
(P.S, is the vignette supposed o hide some of the spikes)
