How does the game fit the theme?
I interpreted the prompt as 'This is a high risk situation, so better everything runs smoothly here.' Since the game is about a neurosurgeon, we have the high risk there. Also, the rhythm part of the game is really (at least for me, really, really) challenging, and there is also no room for mistakes, so 'Nothing can go wrong...'

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
For the Code the .mid reader is from the AssetLib from BrainFooLong.
The drill and robot sounds are from pixabay.
the color palette is AKC12 from lospec by drip knuckles.

It is insanely hard, but I still love it. We played it as a two player game (one person playing the left buttons, the other the right ones) and then it became actually doable and even more fun!

Can’t wait for more levels :)

Good idea, but instant game over when you make mistake is not better choice. Visual are interesting.

I love this but Jesus Christ it is wayyyyy too hard. Getting even a single input wrong will restart the song, so suffice to say, I did not play this game for long before quitting.

Would love to see a polished full release in future!

Very nice take on the topic, fits well the theme. Love the graphics. The gameplay is too hard though, I got stuck in the first few seconds. The difficulty should be more progressive, otherwise it's too frustrating. Anyway good one!

Smooth and hard at the same time. Unique visuals and good choice of color palette. I liked the sound design and overall the whole gameplay.

I love the art style so much! As others have already mentioned, I also had trouble getting past the first part, but I do love what you have here. Great stuff!

I love the theme here. Very immersive. The game is a bit difficult to bit, but still, awesome works!

Nice concept! I'm not great at rhythm games so I could only play the first bit of it, but I liked the theming. Great job!

Yeah it's REALLY cool, concept is great, but - as has been said before - too hard! Essentially the first melody you are asking the player to sight read a two hand piano piece using the keyboard perfectly in time, I play piano and I found it unforgiving still. But this is all solvable by having the difficulty ramp up as the game goes on. Anyway, still loved the game, wish I could play more!

Developer

Thanks for the advice!

I definitely should have made it more accessible and ramped up the difficulty as the game goes on. I must confess, the only way I was able to beat it so far was with another person, each playing two of the notes. I just figured people would be wayyy better than me at rhythm games. Definitely putting playtesting as a higher priority next time!

What a difficulty curve, great game!

Visuals and audio are so good. But this is so hard. I liked the game and wanted to play more but couldn't pass the first level.

Developer

Thank you! Yeah, you're right, I should definitely adjust the difficulty. After the jam finishes, I'll update the game :)

The game looks and sounds good and it follows the theme of the jam but it being so unforgiving and strict will probably only hurt it in the long run. If the game is going to end at any mistake it would probably be better to not immediately make it difficult because after a few attempts and only getting maybe 20 notes in I just gave up and moved on to the other games and I imagine others would give it far less time.

There is a reason why these types of games allow you to make multiple mistakes or have a scoring system.

Nice visuals and audio.. but truly nothing can go wrong so just a bit "hard" game.

Really like the visuals! The color scheme is pleasing to look at.
It's really hard, which fits the theme.
Nice job!

Good!
