How does the game fit the theme?
It fits more story wise than gameplay wise. A man made a deal with a devil believing the cons with the contract weren't as bad as they seemed and that nothing could go wrong.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
The font I used wasn't mine. I also didn't make the code for dying. Credits are in the description.

Innovative way of playing, i really like it !

Super innovative mechanic, there's room for many levels with this! The overall experience could use some polish (sounds) and a slightly better control scheme (I suggest WASD for the figurine and mouse to move the hand). Keep working on this, it could really become awesome!

I’m actually working on this post jam and I’ve already switched the hand to me mouse controlled

Very interesting mechanic1 Tutorial was indeed useful, but still took a bit to get used to the controls lol. But overall it was a decently well designed game! Nice job!

Loved the mechanic!! So cool.

Its too hard for me and when dying it takes me to the start of the entire level which is a bit unfair. But the mechanic is so fun, I believe with more work this can become amazing!

This is a very unique idea! I really like the concept and the mechanics. It took some time to get used to the controls, but I don't think that's a problem. In fact, I think this is a part of the charm! I could see this being expanded further by adding sounds, visual effects and maybe physics when tugging the strings.

Pretty neat controls, I like the theme.
The lack of SFX is really limiting the enjoyment.
I wish there was another level or two.
Thanks for creating it!

This is truly one of most unique games I have played. The controls while familiar make the game all that more difficult cause you gotta rewire the brain. Develop this further, I think this could be something once the demo has animations + audio and more fine tuned physics.

Good luck and please take a look at mine if you have the time :)

Very interesting idea! I didn't mind the controls, the audio was missing sadly :(. Congratulations on your first jam! Hope to see you in later jams too!

The idea is interesting, but the controls are hard to get used to. Players with gaming experience are already accustomed to using the W and S keys for up and down, rather than for left and right movement. Perhaps the control bar could be operated with the mouse instead? This way, the left and right hands would be separated, creating a stronger feeling of one hand controlling and affect the other.

Anyway, the game is still quite innovative! Well done.

Congrats on your first game jam! I really like the mechanic of it! Definitely something you could expand upon!

What a unique concept that I had a lot of fun playing! I could definitely see myself playing this game in the future if more content gets added to it!

The controls could be better, but the concept of the game and the art is very good! I enjoy It a lot

thank you!

Played and rated! Honest review, i hope thats ok! Really really cool concept, could definitely be something very cool! At the moment, the controls could use some work, W,S for side to side movement of the hand is very unintuative, i would suggest using the arrow keys instead, there's no need for the whole game to be played one handed. Also the level design was tough, i could not figure out how to reach the top right switch in the first room and i did spend a while trying. If theres a certain trick to it, maybe introduce that 'move' in an easier and more obvious setting first. Beyond that, some sound and animation would go a long way, but still very cool, great job :)

no problem with an honest review, gives me more to work with. Thank you!

Beautifully made for a game in 1 week and as a solo dev! It's one of the that I would play in my free time if it was polished and completely finished. Please keep working on it, it has a lot of potential!

I really liked the idea, and it was pretty good for a first game. I think it would have been better if the hand was controlled with the arrow keys

Developer(+1)

yeah, I’ve got a few complaints about that, def changing the controls post jam when I work on this

Really innovative idea for a platformer! I feel like the controls could be improved, maybe mapping the puppet to WASD and the hand to the arrow keys. It would allow for 3-direction movement for the hand which could lead to some really cool levels. Amazing job!

Developer

Got a few new movement ideas, I'll add this one too look at. Thanks!

I really liked the games puppet controls, With some ragdoll physics and more levels this could be a great game. Awesome work!
