How does your game fit the theme?
You have to prepare for an endless barrage of typhoons by placing buildings in islands.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
All of the code and assets are created by me. However, I used Godot 4 as my game engine.

I found the optimal strategy is to just spam farms until the map is filled with them and you have enough money to place a few more when it rains and turns 4s into 3s to place more on. Then pick a tile at 5 elevation and constantly plant trees on it for the rest of the game, filling in farms on every tile that becomes available. Once there's no more space for farms you spam the spacebar and plant trees on the last tile for the rest of the game.
If I had to change something, I would add a score value that increases by the total remaining land in the game including elevation. That way you're encouraged to hold onto multiple tiles instead of just one. Also more buildings with special effects that can affect neighboring tiles or move clouds
Very well done for a first jam submission! The game is well designed, the tutorial is great, the audiovisual side is good enough, though the music could've had more variety. Of course there could have been more buildings, like something to raise the island size, or something that moves the clouds, stuff like that.
Great game!! Was surprised to see that this is your first jam submission. Very well done!!
The basic rules are easy enough to understand, lower farms are higher reward but also higher risk investments.
I didn't find myself building trees at all (maybe besides one tree at the end).
It almost feels like the story of an apocalypse with ever rising sea waters slowly destroying the earth - kind of tragic and beautiful at the same time. "The calm before the storm" feels like the period where you still have land compared to the last few turns when you're scrambling to build anything for your poor island denizens.
Overall enjoyed it a lot, great work! My Islands survived 199 days.
Cool game! It also had a nice relaxing atmosphere and great music.
Very nice concept and execution for a solo dev and your first jam! The gameplay is solid and the tutorial was well done, the game was fun!
Absolutely stunning! The world you’ve created is immersive and beautiful, and the gameplay is smooth and fun. You’ve truly made something special!
This was great! I stayed afloat for 260-ish days. This is a fun and engaging concept for a game! Very nice presentation, too. I feel like with more types of building to add variety this can be a killer mobile puzzle game and very addicting. If you decide to put any more work into this I sincerely reccomend looking into making an Android version, as it would be a perfect fit.
Nice job on the tutorial! It made the game easy to follow, and I appreciated being able to take my time with decisions. I enjoyed the progression over 190 days, and adding effects between adjacent islands would make it even more engaging. Keep up the good work!
Very helpful tutorial. I appreciated that I could take my time with the placement. It was fun for my 190 days. Would be cool if adjacent islands had some effect.
Waw amazing game concept, for first jam this is awesome I love this game, personally I want to make this kind of game but could not have solid game concept like this, thank you I am glad playing this.
Very fun concept with an interesting take on the theme. I personally feel like the game would have been slightly improved if the next day auto played but otherwise I enjoyed it
The game looks and sounds really great. My only complain is that after placing something on every tile there is not much to do except for replacing buildings after they got destroyed. But the concept overall is really solid and cool.
Thank you! I was really strapped for time, and haven't really thought about it on what to do when you've filled them all.
Thanks a lot for the advice, I found it useful! Glad you enjoyed!
Nice job, especially for a first jam ! Fits well the theme, and great polish. Well done!

Cool concept
Basic but fun. It really just needs some more buildings.
The game has a clean look and feels polished. The tutorial is helpful and concise. My main complaint is that it doesn't feel like there is much to do, with only 3 buildings.
The progression feels a little slow, but I enjoyed playing it! I think the biggest thing I have that's a problem is that it doesn't seem like the tree building really has any use because early game it costs too much to waste the money on, but late game it doesn't have any value as the weather tower buildings do the same thing but better. It is cool that you could have multiple island types to start with though!
Also, since we have similar games, you should try out my city builder!
I started playing and then realized I needed the tutorial. My suggestion would be to have that start automatically but allow a returning player to skip it. Once I understood what I was doing, the game was pretty interesting. I made it 216 days in North America.
Thank you so much for your feedback! I'll take note of it! <3
Game was good, I like the detailed tutorial. Audio and visuals were not bad. There were some parts where I felt like I had to go for 20 days in order to be able to do something. I tried playing it different ways each time.
Thanks for playing! <3
i didnt understand the point of the game 😐
