Ranked from 33 ratings. Score is adjusted from raw score by the median number of ratings per game in the jam.

How does your game fit the theme?
The game revolves around running a foodtruck and selling burgers to customers. While there are only a few customers around the player can prepare his patties and other ingredients. Because after two minutes the rush phase starts in which far more customers will visit the foodtruck.

The quiet phase is "the calm" before rush phase "the storm".

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes! We used the Unity engine and did all our 3d Models, Sprites, Sounds, Music and even the Font ourselves.

Great interpretation of the theme! Having worked in a restaurant, that is exactly how it felt! I played this on Firefox, so I ran into a bug that I think you might have been aware of - the mouse stopped responding on day 2. It was fun to play through day 1 though! That aside, the flow of preparing for a rush during downtime is a great idea. Here's a few things I would do to improve it a bit:

  • Support all browsers (I'm sure you knew that already)
  • Mouse sensitivity slider - the movement was a bit too fast for me
  • Put the burger ingredients at eye level so it's a little more clear where they are and how far away you can grab them. Maybe also add an indicator when you're close enough to pick it up. A lot of my playthrough was spent walking to one of the boxes and slowly inching forward while clicking until I was in range to grab it.
  • Add a trash can of some kind - I picked up a bunch of those long red things before I knew what to do with them and couldn't figure out how to get rid of them, other than throwing them out the window. Same with the burnt patties

Overall great game though!

Developer

Thank you for playing our game! And thank you very much for you list of improvements! We will definetly try to improve the compatibility for all systems. We also actually added a mouse slider in the "P" - Menu but we also need to improve on that because it is currently not pausing the game. Furthermore I really like the idea with the indicator if the user is close enough to the boxes. Maybe some sort of outline around the boxes. And the trash can is also a great idea! We thought about that but had no time to implement it before the jam.
Thanks again!

Cool game!

Developer

Thank you! :D

I enjoyed the game well enough. There was a fun rhythm to getting burgers ready in advance and throwing them on the counter so they'd be ready for the rush. I days were a bit long though. I played for a while and never got past day 1.  Fun game!

Developer

Thank you for playing our game and for the feedback! We noticed that the days are a bit long. They are currently 12 minutes long with 3 calm phases and 3 rushes. But we might reduce it to just 1 for both per day.

Really cool game! I loved the art style. The gameplay was fun and I enjoyed having to come up with a strategy to make sure I could complete all the orders. Good job! :D

Loved this game! Really captured the feel of the rush hour. The visuals work really well, i like the cartoony style. Well done!

I failed to deliver single burger in time :D

It's really good.  I feel like the day is a bit too long tho.
I play both web version and the download version
I have a bug on the web version where if I press ESC on day 2 I can't get back to the game. (I used Edge) It's still running but I can't do anything. (A long-running game with no pause is a bit hard for me)
so I switched to the download version.
Unlike the web version, the download version player movement is jittering for me(The web version is really smooth)
Still, great job!

Thanks for playing our game and for your feedback! We also noticed too late that the days were a bit long. We are thinking about removing the second and third rush and keeping the day only 4 minutes long. Thank you also for the detailed bug report!

5 "Days" at "Eddies" - hilarious title! The tutorial was pretty good at demonstrating wat to do in the game, good work on that one. I found the patty the hardest part as well actually for some reason, just like the game says. Really cool game, works really well! If you walk in a certain way in one corner, it's possible to glitch out into the area outside the food truck, and I don't think it's possible to go back in. However it was interesting that this area was walkable, and there was actually a real area outside the food truck, even if I don't think it's intended to be used that way.

Really nice job on the game!

Developer

Thank you for playing or game and for the kind words! =)
We had not time to fix that glitch and thougth that no one would find it :S
You are the first one who found it. So congratz on finding it! xD.

I loved the visuals and this type of games is my favorite. My issue was that the length of my reach for interactions could be a little further and when I drop an item, it should just drop and not be thrown because I lost many patties and ingredients this way :D But other than that it is really great!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing our game and for your feedback! There is an option to just drop an item (Right-Click) but we should maybe change it up or make it more visible. Thank you!

Hee-ho. Cool game. Nice gameplay. But I have issue with make burger (Sometimes, components aren't connecting and fall)

Developer

Thanks for playing our game and for the feedback! Some other people already reported the same issue. We will look into this! Could it perhaps be that the patty burned and you didn't notice? We will try to improve the effect of the burned patty so it is more noticeable.

Nice game! I found the mechanics and tasks amusing, especially with the constant rush to keep the meter from going too high. The visuals and pacing were well-balanced, though it would be interesting if the difficulty ramped up over time. Overall, fun experience!

Developer

There are actually multiple days in which the frequency in which the customers come gets more difficult. But we also noticed that 12 minutes for a single day seems far too long. Maybe we will shorten the days that only one rush per day happens.

As a food court veteran I can confirm this captures the food service experience in its entirety.

Weird bug in the tutorial. Overall good concept though.

Developer

Thank you for your feedback! We will look into the tutorial, would you mind sharing what the bug exactly was?

Not sure if I miss understood but the patty wouldn’t go in the burger to complete the order. I tried putting it on the tray but nothing happened.

This is pretty fun. I liked lining up my patties and some premade burgers in anticipation of the orders. It's timed well. I was constantly doing tasks in the kitchen, but I could serve most of the customers. I appreciated the extra details to open the freezer and stove. Love that the business and posters across from the food struck were named after the devs - really cute. The sizzle on the patties was a nice touch. If it wasn't sizzling, I was out of gas. On that note, this game needs sound to be on, otherwise you won't know if the stove has gas. It would be great to have a visual indicator for the gas running out in case sound isn't an option.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your feedback! About players not playing with sound, that's actually a really good point we havn't thought about! We will keep that in mind and try to imporve the visuals on that, Thank you again! =D

Love the graphics and the game idea. Not sure if it was a bug or if I messed up something but had to redo the tutorial because it didn't register the steak on the cutting board. Other than that grat job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback! A friend who tested our game also had the same issue in the tutorial but we think that he just didn't notice that the patty got burned. We will try to add better visuals for that. Maybe some particles comming out of it when it gets burned and an even darker color for the burned patty.

Submitted

I think that would make sense it was burned. Cause the second time I went a bit faster. None the less enjoyed it a lot

Camera is a bit excited but other than that - great game! :) Also like the self drawn style :D

Submitted(+2)

i thought the graphics were super charming! simple but effective :D the camera/movement is a little jittery for me, and this'll definitely be a game i'll have to revisit (i'm way too slow at making the burgers LOL). i can see this becoming an even bigger project post-jam, especially if you decided to upgrade the menu! very great work!!!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much, we will continue working on the project and we're planning on adding more to the menu! And we will definitely work on the camera. Thx :)

Submitted(+2)

It's a fun cooking game! I love the graphics, they're so colorful and cute. And although it's not super complicated, it's still pretty addicting. GL! :)

Submitted(+2)

Cute little burger game! The movement was a bit shakey but once i got found the patties it wasnt too bad.

I use Opera and this lagged the hell out of my browser. I'd like to give it a fair rating so I'll hold off, but can you maybe add a downloadable executable to this submission as well?

Developer

Thanks for the Info! We added a zip containing the executable.

Starting to think this thing isnt very flammable lol

Had a lot of fun being a fast food employee virtually, which surprised me. I eventually just had like 5 of each burger premade and sitting on the counter so I overcame the challenge pretty quick, but if you were to expand this into a full game with more challenges and a larger menu it could get way hectic way fast. Great concept, could be a fun one to take further post-jam. Loved it

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. Really glad you liked it! We had more items planned but had to skim down the menu for the jam due to timing constraints. We are planning to add those items soon :D
