How does your game fit the theme?
The core loop involves the player guessing what's behind each door.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes, everything except the music (thanks Kevin MacLeod) and the more generic hidden images were made from scratch.

Game show for the win 😎

What an entertaining game! We made our game about a game show too! It's always very interesting seeing how people have similar ideas but branch off in different directions. When I was playing your game sometimes I forgot what I was supposed to be listening out for but the overall use of audio as your core mechanic is very unique and worked really nicely.  Great submission!

Developer

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! I'll check your entry out too!

Really interesting concept. Great use of the theme. I was hoping for a big payoff at the end with some sort of reveal of what was actually going on with the gameshow host or something, so I was a little disappointed that it kind of just ends. Nice work overall though!

Thanks! More answers can be found in the good ending, to get that you'll need to save a couple people.

Amazing. This gave me Hitchhiker's Guide/Douglas Adams. Loved the unhinged host and the hidden objective. Great job overall!

Thanks for your kind words!

I love the humor in this game, allthough I did not quite get the ....story? Whats about the cake and the human parts. Where do all the bears come from. So many questions. It was perfect.

Developer

Glad you liked it! For more answers, try saving some fellow contestants. :D

too slowly to initiate , but get a interesting idea

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! There's the option to skip the introduction, which can speed up replays - or are you referring to something else?

The audio is definitely a little loud but otherwise is a very fun, silly game.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Hopefully the volume settings were helpful.

Damn you quantum stabilizer xD

It's a good thing that you can change the volumes separately because the music (albeit very fitting) is too loud and it can be hard to understand the voice, especially when English is not your first language :D

But other than that, I had fun, I loved the humor and the puns, good game!

Developer(+1)

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! We definitely should've set the default music volume a little lower..!

Really nice game! The sound design was awesome and I had fun playing it multiple times to see the different endings. Great game! Good job!

Developer

Thanks, great to hear that you found some of the different endings!

The voice acting made me chuckle! And the meme sounds and rounds had me laughing too. I like that the doors are moving from one side to the other, it adds dynamic. The lighting is also very nice with the spotlights. Well done on the game jam

Developer

Thanks for your kind words, I'm glad all my wrestling with the door animations was worth it! :)

Voice acting is great, good job!

Developer

Thanks!

Loved the voice acting and the the depth of it being more than just a game show. I think the music was a tad loud, but including the option for the music volume is a perfect solution. Well done!

Developer

Thanks! We'll definitely be reducing the starting music volume in any future updates.

Nice little fun guessing game. I liked the voice actor, and the tone. And it did feel like an actual guessing game show. Nice.

A great entry.  It was highly entertaining, creative and imaginative.  Very funny, excellent vibe and voice acting.  Unlike other similar projects, this felt more like a game than an interactive film.

This is the most enjoyable entry of the game jam I've played so far.  Well done!!

Nice game! The voice acting and jokes were great. I also didn't expect there to be multiple endings which is pretty cool. Well done!

Developer

Thanks for playing, glad you enjoyed it!

This was a really fun one! Was waiting for a gameshow game and here is was haha! Since its so very audio dependent it would have been nice if the voice were mixed a bit better, sounds like there was added some effect to it that makes it sound a bit weird? Some EQ and compression would help a lot! Just turn it up a bit would also be nice, sometimes I didn't quite catch what was said since it drowned a bit by the loud music. Overall very fun though, well done!

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for playing, and thanks for the helpful suggestions! You can lower the music independently of the voices and effects, but the default volume does seem to be a bit too loud. Thanks again!
