The theme is bugs...

(1 edit)

I played this game right through to the end. It was nice and relax after a few days of "lots of family!"

I loved it. I liked the vibe, the music, the art. I did hit a bug where I couldn't purchase the 6th song. The button was unresponsive, so I just saved up enough to by the 7th and played it and won.

The economics were a little weird. The regular fireflies lost meaning after a while. I amassed so many so fast. So any time I built a stall I could just upgrade it immediately. It made them feel relevant. Also, once I needed blue, the regular ones lost meaning entirely. Because I always had enough, so I focused on Blue, and the same thing happened with the red.

Overall though, super cute chill game. I played it all the way through this late into the jam, I think that speaks volumes. Solid work. I'll be following you!

D

Also, the theme and special object were used excellently.

Fun to play a dog, and a very cute dog at that! I agree with swifty, the controls felt a little janky (especially the camera). The level was cute, but I almost missed the lampposts! Also, I didn't quite see the object implemented. Did I miss it?

Overall nice work. I enjoyed it.

Fun game idea! I Liked the walking causing the darkness in order to reload. I think the animation was a little too fast, it made it feel a little too flashy. Otherwise, very cool.

Charming art. I think if you had used the full seven days instead of three you could have added some more animations and possible some more challenges/puzzles. Otherwise, great start for game.

D

Great start for a game. I think other people have already noted the music would be nice.

Simple, but very chill.

Cheers!

D

yeah. When you find all the bells the carol of the bells plays. I originally  had it as the main audio, but it didn’t feel spooky enough. So I went with the piano piece.

Thanks for playing the game!

Awesome little game. So fun. It took me one scoring round to realize what I should be trying to do, but after that I played it a few more times. Very cool.

I think it would make a nice little mobile game on a touch screen. Tap to place a bulb, hold to make a guess. Nice use of the light theme. And very Christmas-y.

Great work. My fav game so far.

D

Cute art, fun idea. I found the game description a little lacking in direction so I kept dying. I loved the idea a lot though.

D

Cool, a lot of fun mechanics. Well done. I loved the humour of the game.

I think the sound effects were a little sharp, especially since you had to ring the bell so much. I think next time trying to make it a more pleasant sound for something played so often, and maybe even have multiple ring sounds so it's not so much the same.

Otherwise, really fun little project. Nice work. The bell making icicles fall was very cool. Cheers!

D

Nice work. I liked the light expanding mechanic that would ring the bell. It was a cool balance between making it easier to find the presents but also harder because Santa would find you faster.

Very cool concept. The sound was cutting in and out at times, and I found the small circle of light just a little too small. It didn't feel claustrophobic, it just felt too small.

Overall though, nice work. The first time I died freaked me out. I almost jumped out of my chair. So yeah, you elicited the right horror feelings.

Good luck with the jam and Merry Christmas!

D

Lovely game. Art was incredible, concept was great. I did have a lot of trouble with the controls, sometimes it wouldn't let me grabs London Fog, and the ice never seemed to land right. A few times I thought I'd done something right but ended up with an upset customer. I hope you keep working on the game. It was a lot of fun! And super cozy!

D

Lovely art.

I will echo what other people have said and the labelling on the letters made it very confusing. Otherwise, charming little game.

D

Excellent. Nearly a perfect score from me.

Such a great game. Cozy, fun, charming.

Good luck with the jam.

D

Nice work. Lovely game. It looked good, it worked great. I did find it satisfying to watch the trees get built, but I did wish there was more to do in the game. The decisions felt pretty small in the gran scheme of things, and I managed to max everything out with plenty of SAP left. I did play all the way to the end though, so I did enjoy it.

Nice work.

Good luck with the jam.

D

Nice game overall. Super cute art style, and the music was nice and cozy.  I wasn’t sure what the “trippy” mushrooms were, so I hit one right away, and then I think I kept hitting them… so I mostly tripped through the whole game. Still, fun little game. Thanks.

Good luck with the jam.

D

I loved the look of the game, and the feel of it. I only played the sandbox because I'm on a Mac, but I still enjoyed it.

Nice submission. I hope you keep working on it.

D

Very lovely style and great use of the theme. I found the game trickier than I expected because it took a while to figure out the range of my 'breath', but overall it was a solid entry. And the look, sound, and atmosphere was very relaxing.

Good luck with the jam.

I had a hard time figuring out how to play, I really would have liked a tutorial. Cool idea, and nice cut scene.

lovely game. Super cozy, comfy, and cute. I enjoyed the game play and kept at it for much longer than I was expecting. It was very peaceful. I could run of the screen though... and that felt weird. Otherwise, solid entry. Congrats.

D

The art style was super cute, and the game was very cozy feeling. It was tricky to figure out how to do things, but I might just be a slow learner. Overall, nice work.

D

Awesome. Cute art, nice cut scene and story. And I love puzzle games that involve pushing things around.

Solid entry. Congrats!

D

I look forward to seeing it when you get more of the features working. The movement worked well, the concept is cool (very Minecraft). I liked where you were heading with it.

Nice work. The art style is funky and cool, I like it. I found the narrative of the cut scene a little hard to follow, but I got the gist of it. I clicked some bad guys to death and protected mama!

Cheers. Good luck with the jam!

D

Lovely game. Super beautiful and peaceful. I did find the pumpkin difficult to control so I just ended up clicking whenever which made it a bit random. Maybe if the wheel spun a bit slower I would've tried harder on it. But really, that's my only note. Otherwise, loved the game play, loved the art, the sound, everything was so cozy.

Great submission. Good luck with the jam!

Nice work! I loved the mood set by the cut scene, and the movement worked well (a little slow maybe, but maybe that's just my taste). Overall, nice submission.

Woot! Thank you! I’ll contact you soon!

that was epic. Gave me some serious air ship vibes.

wow! So cool. Very different than what I heard, but I loved your take on it. Crushed it. My son couldn’t stop dancing.

lovely. Totally a fantasy. I played it for my 8-year old and he said “it reminds me of zelda”. Can’t get much more forest fantasy than that.

thanks man.

Lovely little game. It looked great, the music was cool. But it didn't feel like there was much for me to do. The choices didn't feel that important and the game kinda just played itself. But I loved the aesthetic.

D

Cute little game. I liked the implementation of the theme. Choosing how often you can jump or move. I liked it a lot.

D

So much fun! This is my favourite game of the jam so far. I played it until it broke. I would've kept playing too. The balance felt off for sure. Some time you can't make it past day 5, but sometimes you get the right roll and you can't lose.

Still, a little tweaking in the future and this is a solid game. I would love a mobile version of it.

Cheers!

Nice little game. The images look great. It took me a minute to figure out what to do, but when it clicked it was awesome.

Well done!

totally. It’s all in the nature of game jams. They’re great for prototyping. Can’t wait to see other games you make

Nice game. Solid entry. I liked the choice of when to eat the fruit.

Cheers. Good luck with the jam!
