I love the timing of this! You did a great job of fleshing out the motif and the pirate-y theme fits so well! Great job!

Developer(+1)

thank you!!! Ya tried to do a few different things with the motif so I’m glad you noticed!!! Thanks again!

Not exactly my cup of tea but I can see that it takes some kind of genius to come up with it.

Developer

Wow! I agree with the Jake Kaufman comparison - there's not many who can get a chiptune sounding this epic. I hope I'll someday be able to pull off that much modulation. Excellent work, cap'n! 🏴‍☠️

Developer

yaayy! I’m like so happy to hear all the Kaufman love and over the moon to be in the comparison! 🏴‍☠️

This slaps so hard. You could drop this into the shovel knight ost and I literally wouldn't notice. Absolutely crazy work. 5s across the board.

Developer

omg the honor of being compared to shovel knight! Thanks so much!!

No seriously it's 100% on par with the sk soundtrack. If you don't mind me asking what vsts/sound banks are you using? Can see you're on Ableton (I think) but is was sure you were using a tracker at first.

Developer

thank you thank you!!

For this one I was working in Ableton, but I just used the NES VST plugin for everything. I was trying to get a feel for the sounds before getting used to the tracker interface.

I just started using a tracker called DefleMask and yah I totally was cheating on how many channels I was using so gotta practice that a bit.

I saw yours was in Cubase (?). Are you also interested in getting into tracker stuff?

It really is quite similar, excellent work!

Developer

thank yoou! Means a lot to me! I’m a huge fan of that sound track and Jake’s work!
