The movements are fine, I even found them to reflect the theme of the game, but they took a long time to get used to. I also think that it would be better to increase the jump height.

The message of this story was great. Overall, the game is good.

Developer

Thanks for this really helpful feedback! Glad you enjoyed it.

I found the movement a bit frustrating, BUT it fits the theme of the game, at least for me. Sometimes depression is not fair and it is well reflected in gameplay. Getting to the ending felt nice and I liked the way you implemented the jam theme in the story. Good Job!

Developer

Thanks, this is really helpful feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Game is good for the most part. I like the way the player moves, but it could use a little more control and maybe a variable jump height. I didn't think you worked the "less is more" in well enough and i didn't really agree with the message of the story. But other than those, game is good!

Developer

Thanks, I'm finding it interesting see people's different takes on the movement. We tried really hard with the story, what else would you suggest to include the theme more?

Submitted(+1)

Gameplay is really cool, and I like how you become sonic when you move while jumping. Good job!

Developer

Thanks, we've had really mixed reviews on the movement, but I'm glad to see you enjoyed it.

Haha, I really don't know how to rate this game. I think the movements are very erratic (short jump and super fast speed forward), the level design is quite frustrating (with a lot of small pit holes), the colors are bit crazy and the music sounds messy. On the other hand I think it all fits quite well with the theme of depression and has a humorous touch, whether it's deliberate or not. Definitely had a different experience with this game compared to others I've played so far. Thanks and well done!

Thanks for the feedback! Sorry you've not enjoyed it as much as other games.

Submitted(+1)

No no, I didn't mean that! I did enjoy your game, it was funny and interesting! Weird looking games like Undertale and frustrating games like Getting over it are good in there own way I think .

Developer

Thanks!

i think there are too many pitfalls in the level map, where you fall and can get back up. Convined with the floaty controls, the platforming is a bit frustrating at times. Cool interpretation of the theme's concept

Developer(+1)

Thanks, this is our first platformer so there's lots to work on.

Submitted(+1)

The controls are not very precise and the depression is very fast. But in general the idea is well executed !!!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

I really liked, that there were images next to the story. It was also a nice touch, that the game didn't only consist of images + story, but it transitioned into a scene, where I had to control the character.

I think the game could have benefited from sound effects.

Developer(+1)

Sound effects were planned, but I ran out of time. Thanks for the feedback about the story, that was the focus for this game.

I really like the message behind the game. And the controls feel good, the only thing I don't quite like is the music, though it fits the game and the feeling of beeing traped, it just feels a bit empty. Still 4/5 good job ^^

Developer(+1)

OK thanks for the feedback!

I really liked the concept of the game the story blocks, my only criticism is that for me the bottom and top of the screen was cut off in said story blocks. Other than that it is an enjoyable game!

Developer

Sorry about that. I will look into fixing it. Thanks for the feedback!

It's really liked it but i think the deppresion was a bit too fast

Developer

OK, thanks for the feedback, I think next time I will try to refine the speed a bit more.

A minimalistic game which is fine. I like the movement, it's quite fast-paced. And nice simple storytelling.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

I enjoyed the game; it was short and sweet. I would say that the music was a bit loud, and the controls were very touchy, but nothing a bit of fine tuning can fix. Very promising, and I really enjoyed the wholesome theme!

Developer

Thanks so much!

Love , The Game , Especially The Pixel Art!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

I like how even you if win the depression still catches you. Nice idea. The pixel art was a little inconsistent, you'd be better off making much smaller sprites that require less detail. The music fit the game really well.  The biggest thing was the controls. It was in essence a simple platform game, the biggest focus should have been on making the control of the character perfect. There is another game in this jam 'Minimal' that is also just a very simple platformer but the controls are so tight it is a pleasure to play. I hope the feedback was useful. :)

Developer(+1)

The feedback is really useful! Our issue with this game was that the focus was on the story first and the controls came second. Its also our first platformer.

Submitted(+1)

Great job for your first platformer. I understand the thought behind story first as this was how you implemented the theme. I am sure you'll make better and better games as you continue your journey :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks, this is really inspiring!

fun game. but its hard when it comes to controlls cuz the player walks so fast. maybe add a setting to slow the player down.

Developer

Il look into that, thanks for the feedback!

A very cool take on the theme! The controls seem very difficult at the start (took me quite a few tried to finish the game), but once you get the hang of it, it's fun to try and land on the correct platforms without overshooting. The music is definately anxiety enducing and the message is interesting. Good job :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the really helpful feedback. Sorry about the controls, we will try to fix this in future games.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback, glad you enjoyed it, we made it so that it would take a few attempts on purpose so that it would mirror the feeling of depression, glad you enjoyed, and I am still playing your game, I NEED to finish it.

Sorry if its not clear, you play as a billionaire who is chasing success, but is running away from the depression that is catching up to him. Hope that helps!

The particle system is a really good idea. I will look into that for our next game!

Submitted(+1)

Very funny idea, like the dialog, but the movement is a bit to fast so it makes it hard to stand on the platforms. first i thought where is the theme but after 15min i finnaly finished the game and found it. good job will rate it.

Developer

Thanks! We will work on the movement in future games!

Developer

Thanks for the criticism, I am glad that you enjoyed it, I am also glad that you got to the end, this is the first game where we have done a story, so we were more fixed on that, however, I am glad that you enjoyed it!
