I like the noisy and gray shader, intro and everything around it. Keep on going with it!

Developer

thanks Paulsen!

Fun and simple concept! The one-button system really does this game justice! The intro is great, and the game feels nice to play, although adjusting your aim is very awkward.

Good Game! Enjoyed it a lot!

Developer

Thanks! thinking of adding a laser pointer to help with the aiming

I loved the intro so much, it was so cool!!! Also loved the character design and how you used minimalism as the key in this game. And giving power with just one button felt amazing!! It took me a while to get used to shooting mid-air, but after that, it was fun to play. Also, I think it would have been better if there was a metric to tell the skull's health so that we can think of dodging at the last point or not. Overall, amazing work and also a great choice of music. Thank you for developing this and showing how minimalism could be made addictive.

Also, I'd really appreciate if you play and review my game. Thank you!!

Developer

Thanks EliteOne! yes, showing enemyHealth is a must going forward with the game

Well done! Really cool game difficult at first but when I realized it was better to sometimes dodge rather than shooting them all I got better haha! Great use of the theme and surprised me how much you could do with only one button! Oh and the Intro was brilliant!!

Developer

Thanks! yep some skulls are just impossible to kill :P

Thanks!

Really great game! visuals were on point and the game cut scenes were just excellent! theme was a bit disconnected and the skulls felt like sponges but i loved it! mind playing my game?

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks! in an eventual update, the skulls are going to be weaker that's for sure :P

this game is awesome, but not very accurate to the theme rate mine

Developer

thanks! yeah i took the theme in a more abstract way, linking it to "minimalism", no so much in a literal way

its still awesome

Music was pretty good, and the shooting mid air blowed my mind with how good it feels. But the game itself feels pretty short, and aiming is really awkward.

overall pretty good game to make in just one week!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! thinking on adding a "laser pointer" of sorts to make aiming easier when the jam ends :P

First off super dank intro haha I was very impressed. Gameplay was difficult at first but I think I got the hang of it after playing for a little while. I like the midair shooting!

Developer

thanks!

Personally, animated pilot during shooting etc. is awesome idea. It make game much more immersive :D

This has a solid foundation for a mobile game!

Developer(+1)

YES! i have make everything "endless" and add some kind of progression, but it could be an awesome idea

Very nice little game that perfectly fits the theme because the theme is implemented by using only one key, by having a straight and linear shooter without frills, by having only one (main) type of enemy and by having a very simple UI

My 5 Highlights:

  • Very nice Intro!
  • It actually has an end!
  • I love the screen filter
  • The checkpoint function - That was essential because: if I would have been thrown back to the start or worse, back to the intro I wouldn't have played it a second time. With the checkpoint function I played it for more than 10 minutes
  • Good feeling when shooting - The enemies were neither to strong nor to weak and shooting felt very responsive and comprehensible

My 3 wishes!

  • In some situations it felt like there was no way to prevent crashing into an enemy (but maybe I'm just a bad player)
  • I would have loved the buildings to be a bit more detailed and to have a river front with something down right of the screen (but then again "less is more")
  • A function to start over after finishing the game (by hitting space ^^)

All in all: congratulations!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! yes, i totally forgot about the restart button at the end haha

It was fun! Cutscenes make this game feel finished. Nice theme interpretation. Good job!

Developer

Thanks!

Ok. the name got me. And it was pretty fun, but it was difficult and the angle of the camera was a bit tricky for me.

Developer

Thanks! you are right with the perspective, i think it may have to do with the lack of shadows of the skulls, hard to figure out the height of the enemies
