Great pixel art! controls feel good and a nice overall experience. GG!
Absolutely loved it! The only thing that would have made this even better is maybe a speed running timer and also the dropping feels a bit slow. I loved the art, sounds, gameplay and music. Great use of the theme and the game feels really good to play
Thank you so much for checking out and enjoying the game! Funnily enough I did think about a speedrun timer, but I ran out of time to implement it, lmao. I'm working on a post-jam update that should hopefully have it, alongside a lot of other fixes and tweaks!
Love the art, and music, and all the polish. Also the enemy guy kinda reminds me of Celeste which is always cool. What I didn't like was the difficulty!!! Idk maybe I just suck but the enemy guy seemed way too fast and it took me forever to get past just level 1, and when I did get past, I think it must've bugged out somehow because I just died and it sent me to the next level without me actually beating the level lol. Still really great entry though.
yeah, many people have complained about the difficulty, and there’s a bug where your dead body can still collect candles, which is probably how you cheesed the first level - and if i’m being honest, that’s how I completed it my first time aswell.
Thanks for checking out the game, Ben, we really appreciate it :)
Yo, Ben! Thanks for checking out the game! You're not alone, pretty much everyone that's played the game said it was very difficult, hahaha. I've been working on a post jam update to make it a bit easier, but I'm glad you liked it despite the difficulty!
The textures, music, animations and lighting are fantastic! Personally I found it really difficult and wasn't able to get past the second level. Great work on UI (something I tend to lack). Fantastic ork for 3 days, good job.
The art for this jam submission is legendary and the sound is awesome. The music is epic while your doing a complex maneuver. The only thing that I noticed was that the platforms have a half second delay. The crow art and animation looks great and the four colors look great. Very Well done!!!! :D
Thanks for checking out the game! Yeah, the platforms are gonna get fixed in a post-jam update.
thanks about the music aswell btw ;)
It's a really pretty game, I LOVE the sprite work, and the music is also really nice. It's really hard, though. The Raven-Spirit is a little overly aggressive for how early it shows up, and it makes it really difficult while you're still trying to figure out how the game works.
because the game's quite short, the crow has to appear relatively early on for the game not to be too easy, and I'll speak to my teammate about making the prologue possibly longer in a post-jam update to help get you used to the game a bit more before you plunge into such a difficult situation. The crow will also be nerfed a bit, because many people have complained about the difficulty of the game. Thanks for the positive feedback as well, it's really appreciated. :)
Actually I've decided to slow down the crow on the first few levels to get you used to it. It's also been nerfed a lot like my teammate mentioned as well ;)
Because my skills are too low, looks like i cant play the game properly, Exept for that, graphics are nice, the whole idea of the game feels simple and easy to understand
Yeah I've been getting that a lot hahaha. My best friend even directly compared it to Dark Souls. Thanks for checking it out, though!
Okay, great game but turns out it’s hard enough for me to suck at it!
I loved the presentation of this game, but since I'm just trash at games, I didn't get too far. But what i did play was extremely fun and enjoyable.
Very polished, maybe make it clear that you can double jump, and I fell off the world in the prologue by going too far right lol. Music/sounds and art is great.
I'm impressed! This game seems really polished. Loved the art style and the music soooo much!
The only problem could be that it's a bit too hard, or I'm just bad at it. But overall very fun and solid!
Thanks for reviewing! It is a pretty hard game, you're not the only one, haha.
It's so polished and so fun!
At first I was wondering where, you know, the crow was? And out of nowhere you get into a chase sequence and have to collect all the candles.
It really reminded me of a certain section in Celeste, I'm curios if that was an inspiration.
THE SOUND EFFECTS (and music): that reverb on them made them feel so much more impactful and juicy. The songs were also very catchy!
The pixel art was also really good (I also like the palette a lot) and the added lights made it pop off even more.
Overall it was a really good game and you did an amazing job considering the deadline!
Thank you so much! I've been getting a lot of comments comparing it to the Badeline segments in Celeste, but I was actually inspired by the Cosmic Clone levels in Super Mario Galaxy, hahaha.
Props to my composer for the music ;)
Amazing Game ! The graphic, music, sfx all are wonderful. The gameplay was fun but a little difficult. I was not able to dodge the crow many times and the double jump and S takes a little time to execute.
The game itself is awesome, i both loved the graphics and the gameplay, but i have to say that it is quite unforgiving and difficult...
Overall i have nothing to say but that it is probably a jam winner, very good job :)
(Also theres a bug where if you die in the gates of the first level it gets you to the second instead of reapearing in that same level)
Pretty fun but for me it dosent seem that the limitation of 4 colors has ben used with all of the effect light it creates diffrent colors
Post-Processing Effects such as the lights don’t count towards the overall colours
Pretty fun and finally a jam game that has consistent pixel size, but the double jump felt very janky, some times it jumped and some times it didn't and that caused problems and going down the platforms worked 30% of time, I literally needed to spam the s button and it still took like an second to go under it.
yeah, the platforms are a bit janky, and many people have complained about them, if you hold S it should work, although it’ll take a second. This bug is intended to be fixed in a post-jam update soon, and thanks for the positive feedback btw :)
Enjoyable, if very challenging. The crow made me think of the Badeline chaser/s from Celeste chapter 2, as it seemed to follow exactly behind me. The one thing I would say would be to make the crow a bit slower, it was hard to figure out some of the levels/puzzles while it was chasing me, although I guess that's the point (maybe making the hitbox more lenient would help??). Overall good game.
very fun and cool game and insane art
Damn, this is amazing. I love the art style and the music is amazing. The gameplay is also amazing, its really fun and feels like a full game. Probably one of the best submissions I’ve seen.
Wonderful game! I loved the art style and gameplay, and really appreciated how you took the time to create such immersive puzzles to let the player figure out what to do instead of just giving them the answer directly. Of course, like a lot of people have mentioned, I would've liked to see the hitbox be a little more forgiving as sometimes I had trouble getting around the crow. Also, there is a little bug I noticed. If you get hit and die by the crow, you can still collect the candles, so in level 1 if you die next to the gate, you can actually collect the last candle without unlocking the gate. It's the little things. Overall an amazing submission!
Yeah, many people have noticed that bug, and my teammate’s planning to fix it in a post-jam update. Thanks for the positive feedback!
