Really fun little mini metroidvania! I played on Steam Deck and it worked great with the controller (I can’t platform on a keyboard!) The mechanics were pleasing, and the artwork is great. I also thought it crashed at the boss fight, but I see from other comments that’s just where you ran out of time. I’d definitely play a full-length version. I think a more complete soundtrack would really take it to the next level. And it would be nice if the jump was more sensitive so you could tap for a small jump and hold for a longer jump. Great job overall!
My internet is a bit ... challenged when it comes down to speed. The browser version was really laggy for me. At some point it became almost unplayable. An alternative download would be nice. :)
I didn't finish because of the lag. But what I saw is just gorgeous. The pastel colours really set the mood, the animations are great as well. Gameplay is fun and the glimpse at the lore keeps things interesting.
I'll make sure to give it another go from another PC in the future. Looking forward to you finishing this.
I really enjoyed this game, cool atmosphere and good controls once you get how they work!
The levels and movement really stands out to me here! The levels easily guided me alongside the tutorials, everything was conveyed perfectly. It felt nice to have a variety of movement abilities too. One thing I’d note is that level 3 was a little bit frustrating as I kept falling down to the lower bit and had to restart because the zipline was single-use. Overall, everything was really solid and I feel like there is a lot more going on in this world!
Wow, the art stood out above all on this game, absolutely amazing. The gameplay was cool and engaging as well! I enjoyed the combo attacks on enemies and the dashing mechanic really made the game feel a lot more skill driven! As said below, the controls were a bit tricky. Also, a few times I found myself having to kill myself due to missing a jump and not being able to do another attempt due to the zipline being used already. Overall, it was a very cool narrative driven platformer that definitely looked beautiful. Great Job :)
The lore was very cool and I really like the art style. I had some minor issues with the controllers, mainly with the jumping and dashing, but overall it was a very enjoyable game and you managed to get a lot done in a short time.
Nice one, I loved the fights, gg !
Oh man I love side-scrolling sword fights, I was so pumped for the boss battle lol. I would love to play a finished version with controller support, the little taste of narrative given is very intriguing. Definitely following you, good stuff!
Thanks so much JOS! I'm definitely working on it for after the jam ends. and I'm totally going to include controller support! :)
WoW, the setting’s vibe really swept me away, the art and text really make another world, Love that color scheme. The tutorial UI, made it really easy to understand, great villains they were very fun to kill.
I'm glad you liked it, thanks!
I really liked the pastel color pallet!!
Love the pixel art! Would very much like to see where the story goes, if it's ever finished :D
Really cool story, artstyle and smooth gameplay. Everything you would want from a jam game. Unhappily the game freezes when the boss battle starts
thanks a lot! as stated under other comments, due to time constraints I made the game just end there, leaving it at a cliffhanger, but I could've made that more obvious lmao
I love the aesthetics of this game. The difficulty curve is well set, there is appropriate feedback for everything. I wish the jump was a little less floaty but it somehow balanced out with the other mechanics. good job!
Thanks a lot, appreciate the feedback!
the game is amazing, the stage design is great, art and animation is well done, mechanic is fine and the best is the lore/story that has depth, which rarely finds in game in jams. i also like that the game has a bit of puzzle element. I wish the browser version is smoother though, kinda laggy and my game froze just before the final level ;-; Overall great experience! can imagine it'll become a good game if continue polishing!
thank you so much! I'm really glad you liked it. as for the final level, it's supposed to flash white and end leaving the battle at a cliffhanger (totally not due to time constraints lmao.)
and for the lag, thanks for letting me know about it, hadn't playtested it enough on browsers. I'll look into it.
