Had problems getting the game running. Luckily there were instructions in these comments below. Very well made game. It's even more impressive, when I noticed, you put this game 12 days before deadline. Awesome job!!
Glad you could make it run and play! Thanks for playing :)
Wow you managed to do all of this for the jam?? Amazing. Great job, congratulations!!
Thank you, and thanks for playing! :)
I liked the storyline about this game, maybe is the best RPGmaker game I have played in this jam:)
Hope we can rate each other XD
Thank you, I always try to put storyline in the top priority in my games :) thanks for playing!
I liked the idea of playing as an evil overlord, but I must admit that I got lost after a while trying to find all 30 henchmen. In my opinion 30 is too much, especially when the only challenge is finding them - you could have gone with way less. But the fights felt satisfying... ok, there was no challenge, but they made me feel powerful :D how dare they say no to me!
Hahahah that was the point of the fights! You got it :D Thanks for playing!
Best game we've ever play :D
Haha glad you liked it!
Maze games are not always my favorite, but this one was pretty good. I do think that it would be nice if the battles could have some sort of challenge associated with them, instead of not taking damage and oneshotting everything, though I do get why it is that way. Continuing on, I liked the sprites, music was pretty good, and it's cool to see there's a whole backstory behind the game.
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it :)
I see, you've got the whole gig going on with this one).
The music in Dungeon may summon an erratic irish dancer (maybe make him an army morale totem, heh?)
Cool minimalistic battles. However, I don't see the point of why even make the fights which have no meaning, for the main char would be victorius over his servants anyway.
I think, I'll get acquainted with stories of your realm, keep up the good work, it's quite cool.
Haha yeah I agree with you about the minimalistic battles. I guess the meaning of battles is showing that both playable characters are overpowered, that's on purpose... having Darcanos being overpowered in comparison to his minions, and the Knight being overpowered in comparison with everyone else :D
Funny about the irish dancer, it reminded me about a special monster that can be found in the underground dungeon. Not a dancer but quite different to the other monsters ;) Thanks for playing!
It might be good to have a bit of a map and a counter of how many batallions I've recruited. I've spent the past hour walking around what appears to now be an empty dungeon and whenever I try to exit, it tells me I'm at 29 of 30. And for the life of me, I can't find the last one.
Edit: of course, just after I posted this comment, I find the last one. Is there more to the story after defeating Darcanos, or is it freeform to get the achievements in the tower?
Haha sorry about it! I also noticed that could happen when I was testing but I just assumed it as part of the adventure in the labyrinth... there are 15 batallions in each labyrinth so a good trick is to finish one labyrinth and then check if you got 15, that way you know that you finished that section. There is no story after that, as you say, it's just free play and get the achievements of the tower :) Thanks for playing!
I was confused why it wouldn't run at first but figured it out eventually, nice game the art is really nice and the story is very interesting, the sounds and music go really well with it but I would recommend a hint and tutorial system and I'm wondering what did you use to make this?
Thanks for playing! It's done with RPG Maker VX Ace. The music is composed by me too :) I guess after doing so many RPG Maker games I just assume that everyone will be able to play these games without a tutorial, I hope it wasn't very annoying to realize about the controls. Thank you!
May I suggest you to add a note to your game page? one needs to right-click | install VL-Gothic-Regular.ttf to play it
Yes sure, I think I added it in the install instructions but maybe not very visible. Did it work for you? :)
once I installed the font. yes. it runs - thx :-) - and uh - sorry - you're right - your note is present (I didn't simply see it - my fault)
Great, I was worried that it wasn't going to work! :D have fun!
When I opened the .exe I got an error message saying it couldn't find the 'VL Gothic' font, and the game wouldn't run :/
Oh sorry about it :( I have re-uploaded the zip including these fonts. It seems error of RPGMaker VX...
Unfortuantely, this error message still pops up.
Sorry about it, have you tried to place the fonts in your font folder?
