This is sososo fun but so hard. Best i could get was B. This has such an unique style with the diffrent tabs and the spam, really really cool! Such an attention to detail, for example with the cake! Funny smart really fun! I love the diffrent characters, but its so difficult, maybe they could come in after one another? I HATE THE FRIES! Very cool very fun such a good game
NOW I HAVE AN A
🥳🥳🥳
Thanks for playing! I'll take your suggestions in consideration if I ever feel like revisiting this project again.
I should've added some randomness to the timer that spawns the costumers, but I legit forgot to do that DX
Also, you're the first registred fry hater, instead of a sandwich hater :D (lol)
Quite challenging but a fun game !
We loved the concept of multi tasking the orders which is a unique way to play ✨
Thanks for checking it out! The multitasking came out kind of accidentally, given the way minigames work with windows and all.
I'm just glad it fits the setting :P
this was super fun and unique, i love the pop-ups so much and, despite being initially really confused on a few things, i kind of love being thrown into it with very minimal direction. super cool! :)
Thanks for playing! I'm glad you liked, because I didn't have the time to implement tutorials lol
I guess that's how the business goes ._.
Extremely chaotic, very impressed by the amount of minigames you managed to incorporate!
I will also consider myself a sandwich hater lol but it was a very fun experience trying to micromanage everything at the same time!
Thanks for checking it out! I swear to God on one of my attempts it took 1 minute for the damned correct ingredients to get selected, I really need to make the minigame more controlled if I ever touch this series again.
sequel confirmed???? :O (mayben't)
This game is super cute and I think the pop ups are a super smart way of displaying the mini games and making the game more engaging between orders. If you ever update the game I think it would be interesting to progressively make the game harder by having the game start off with 1-2 customers and 3 mini games with more unlocking each day until all customers and mini games are unlocked.
Really great work!
Thank you for playing! I'm not gonna lie, receiving so much feedback is almost tempting me on doing a sequel with major improvements lol
Yes! I think it could be a full game if you add days/levels, especially with the ranking system you have already! I'd love to see what's in store next. :)
I really really loved the aesthetic and ideas here, was giggling the entire time. (We really loved the pop-up ads!) The fact that you were able to design so many mini games is astounding, the sandwich one was especially diabolical. We did run into some gameplay issues, but there is no lack of wonderful game design and innovation here! We love the vision!
Thanks for checking it out! It took about 18 hours to finish every minigame - and 4 of them went on the infamous sandwich minigame! After some hours my creativity was running so most of the minigames are really simple, but I guess that helps with the fast-pace part ._.
loved the visuals and aesthetic! I thought this would be a chill game but then I got stuck forever on the sandwich mechanic and I got a C rank lol, but I consider that my own failure. extremely cute and fun idea!
Thank you for playing! If you scroll down a bit on the comments, you might notice that the sandwich minigame is a repeat offender on the crime of "being too damn difficult", I should've balanced it before lauching the game but time was running dry ._.
Cool game! Really impressive how many different minigames you managed to fit into the game given the short amount of time and the gameplay was chill but also a little stressful when I started want to get higher ranks. The sandwich game is cursed. Great work!
Thank you for checking the game out! I will forever be haunted by the fact I created the sandwich minigame ._.
I enjoyed trying out and learning all the different mini games ;) I lost the first three customers as I learnt how everything worked... but I guess that's a lot like life! X'D
Thanks for playing!
Cafe Couteau's costumers sure are busy people, you finish putting together their plate a second late and they're already gone lol
I had to add a limit to the costumers orders, because everyone would leave and only L'homme would stuck around buying stuff forever because of his massive patience 😭
Felt like you tried a lot of interesting mechanics with this game! Needing to complete a different mini-game for each item is a cool idea for a Diner Dash style game. The Internet Aesthetic is also really cool, I had a nice "Aha!" moment when I figured out I could multi-task with the minigames (Letting the fries or coffee go while I do other stuff). And with that said, the internet ads popping up really added to the charm and aesthetic this game has (Along with its hectic nature). The fact you were able to make this many minigames in a jam as quick as this one is also really cool!
If it's ok to offer a bit of constructive criticism- I would love to have a chance to learn some of the mini-games & get an order or 2 out before 4 of the Customers run it at once 😅 I had to restart a few times, as I write this I realize I wasn't sure if there was a lose condition but the sort of vibe I got from it was that I was doing something wrong. I think it might also be cool if we started off with orders that asked for 1 or 2 items, to ease into some of the more abstract mini-games. I was confused on the infinite donut hole because it seemed like the most "out there" game, with the changing numbers. Once I figured it out I realized it wasn't so bad, I just originally thought I had to keep going down.
Thank you so much for submitting this game! I think you've got a really cool concept on your hands & I'd love to see you explore it more! :)
Thank you for playing! It were originally intended for costumers to order less itens, but at some point I forgot to implement it lol
And yeah, the game has no tutorials unfortunately nor pratice functionalities, which is a big flaw.
I tried to mend it with the bold texts on the background, and accidentally loved the aesthetic lmao
About the defeat flag, the game checks how many costumers remain on the cafe every 10 or so seconds, when everyone leaves the day ends!
And about the donut minigame, I wanted to implement the functionality of having to dig deeper to find donuts but I often found it impossible to get donuts! You can get donuts very easily aside from the "???????" because it is intentionally impossible(I made the screen close after 5 or so seconds as a hint).
If I ever revisit Cafe Couteau, I will take your criticism into consideration and maybe add a tolerance limit for the costumers, where they only leave after getting considerably mad at your service instead of imediatelly leaving lol
Thanks again!
I loved the uniqueness here. It's a game I won't forget the style of. I do think that there should be a little more guidance when first starting the game.
Really cool. Well done!
Yeah, sorry. I planned on adding small cutscenes and textboxes explaining the controls but time was running kinda short, so I will add the controls on the description of the game. Thanks for playing!
edit: Added a short, helpful section on the description with some useful tips, thanks for the heads up!
Really creative! Nice work with all the different minigames. I get that the sandwich game is frustrating but I felt like that one had the most "meat" to it, like I could see that being a core part of the gamplay if it was developed more and it's what I had the most fun with. Just my two cents. Great work!
Thnak you for playing! There's a reason for the sandwich minigame being so complex while the other are so simple: I spent so much time making the sandwich minigame I didn't want to do it again lol
I'll rebalance it if I ever visite this project again.
I'm so impressed you managed to fit so many mini games in, in such a short period of time -- this is pretty awesome. The constant barrage of windows is spot on, and I can't for the life of me make sandwiches, haha!
Sandwiches were definitely my biggest fumble here, if I ever touch this game again I might have to balance it!Thanks for playing!
All the little mini-games are amazing and the art to go with them look great! And this game is certainly hectic. Really captures the feeling of working in customer service
I'm glad you liked it! Even though Café Couteau's costumers are really polite even they seem to have a bit of a short temper sometimes... Can't even wait for a sandwich! >:(
Thank you for playing!
Love the sharp art and the fun customer sprites. It was interesting figuring out how each game worked.
I never had so much fun programming something, specially since I had a friend doing sprites while I worked my ass off (phew)
Love the visuals and the mini-games to prepare the food. C'est adorable !
Merci beaucoup!
I really like visual and vibeee - the music is chill but the game is definitely not LOL my visual brain is definitely stimulated in a good way!! fun game!! tu parles français? cause the game name is very French lol
Yeah, I picked up a french class recently on university, and you know how after you learn a language you find every word on them very cool? I'm on that place currently :v
One of my favorite games so far! The combination of web style and cooking games, each small game is very creative!! I had a lot of fun after practice, but it was still hard to make sandwiches……
Yeah, sorry about the sandwiches. I admit they're the difference between a fun time and actual hell, but I spent so much time on that minigame I couldn't:
1. Remove it
2. Spend another minute looking at it's code
So that's on me, I'm so sorry lol
Really, really visually pleasing! It's reminiscent of those old-school eatery games that came with Windows in the 2000's. The multiple windows popping up is very silly, but definitely adds to the game with needing to manage all the orders.
Thanks for playing! The windows 2000 style was kind of an accident(?) as I only intended to use the windows pop up on the internet router minigame, but then I thought "Well, I already have it might as well use it! lol
After that I embraced it and tried a "Purble Place" aesthetic on the left hud, had a friend covering me while coding which made the whole experience less stressful!
