Seems to be fps (might have been a freak correlation but cleaning my base up and removing excess light sources helped cull the issue down) tied and easily triggered on reloads and by leaving a bunch of drives cluttered near the slots in general.
If you loaded the game with the drive in, you have to restart it again to reset the slot.
It can also randomly trigger when removing/plugging in drives, but you can correct it by plugging the bugged drive back in UNLESS YOU STORE IT- I keep a dummy drive on my desk to test slots before loading my drive box up to send off as prevention, as if you load the bugged drive into the box, you cannot fix it without reloading the game, even if you take all the drives back out of the box and try to plug them back into the offending slot.
You can retract the cable plug by looking for the option on the coffee maker end of the cable.
This working for all machines with cables.
A bit strange, usually if something falls through the map it teleports to the top of the world and falls near where it fell down- it might be in a bush somewhere nearby but it's probably easiest to put the password changer in the mailbox, save, start a new save, run to the mailbox, get the password, changer, and get the book in the new save and put the password changer and book in the mailbox and save. You can do the same with anything you can put in your inventory- hopefully the book can be picked up (don't see why it couldn't be) as that is the only requirement to using the mailbox besides being in story mode.
The problem is that Winrar nowadays can have issues extracting every file from an archive. It's definitely worth tossing it out for 7Zip.
I'll give that a go, thanks, I can't remember if I may have accidentally reset objects before since it's been a while since I've played, hopefully I haven't, another thing is that I have saved the game in the morning while I am outside the base, entering the garage seems to be what causes the whole footsteps running off and the inability to save suddenly (this was done solely cuz I wanted to check if there was anything obvious outside that would prevent saving/sleeping, but there wasn't, it's just simply entering the garage that stops all saving and sleeping), but yeah, I'll give that a go and see if anything happens, if it fixes it then I'll let you know, if not then I guess it's either a bugged save or theres something I'm missing
You must use 7zip or winrar, the default windows compression and extraction is horrible and only handles default .zips and some odd formats.

(If you are unsure which to get, the first option under 7-Zip 23.01 (2023-06-20), for windows 64 bit is the latest stable release.)
With an archiver installed, it should add an option to the right click menu, and from there you can "extract to (folder name)"; avoid using "extract here" as it will just dump the folder contents out of the folder. You can also compress your own folders to save space or make backups or share stuff faster.

Well, i have a really bad problem, what if im downoloading game, but at some moment the downoload just stops and i can continue it? Maybe file is damaged? Also, in other version that im downoloaded before, like 7.0.0 without patches, there was no folders for custom music for radio/custom images/ custom models for printer. is there any solves for it? Well, in shortcut, i just cant downoload VoTV normally, on one moment it just says "Downoload canceled" and i cant start it again.
Do you know how to get to appdata? If not, I'll explain how, if you do then ignore all this. It's not in the actual game folder, it's a common outside directory for games and other software's saves and settings and such so that they don't get accidently wiped For some reason it's a hidden folder by default, so even if you know the directory you can't navigate to it without using a command or changing a setting. There's two popular ways to get there, I'd recommend doing the first, it's takes a little bit of setup but it's not complicated, and makes it ridiculously easy to access in the future but 2 is effectively instant and easy too:
Option 1: Open file explorer, go to the "View" tab at the top, and on the far right of the tool bar that opens, there will be an options panel. Open the options, and go to the "view" tab in the new window that pops up. 6 option down *should* be "Hidden files and folders"- select "show hidden files, folders, and drives", hit apply, and close the options. After this, you can navigate to the appdata manually quite easily and pin it to the quick access bar on the left. Simply open the drive windows is installed on in file explorer, and go to Users>(your username)>AppData (it will be grayed out to show its normally hidden, but is now shown and accessible.) Right click it and near the top should be "pin to quick access", and you can now instantly access it from the left any time you're in file explorer.
Option 2: Simply type %appdata% in the windows search/cortana bar and hit enter- This will take you to the WRONG folder for some reason, not actually the appdata folder, but it is within the appdata folder, so you can simply click "appdata" from the navigation chain in the address bar, or hit the up arrow beside the address bar (the shortcut is alt+up if you want to do it even faster)
From there it's as we said, there should be all your folders for saves and assets and such in appdata>local>votv
If you knew all of this and running the game as admin did not fix the issue, it's definitely a bug, but you can probably build the folders yourself, they're not super complicated and there's no special files in them that wouldn't already be generated for the game to even be able to run.
welp, guys, what if my posters are not working? Like, im put all png's i wanted in "posters" folder, but there is basic poster, not custom one. And if im trying to use it, nothing works.
definitely a bug, a large object like a mannequin or curtain or pallet should give numerous trash piles each

Had the same issue. Is there a way for players to force bad sun to re-trigger while the next update cooks? Also the wisps don't seem to despawn during the day, not sure if that is intended since the mode description implies they should only be around at night. Though kinda hoping it's supposed to be like this, making a mad dash for a shaded part of the roof when one came for a visit was a fun moment.
Press whatever you have bound to open the inventory MENU and it should restore items, that fixes it for me at least. And spawning in facing directly north is always how I've spawned, even before 0.7, so I don't think its a bug personally, but maybe it is.
turn on the funni, dum (it's an actual setting so you can turn off silly easter eggs and such to make the game more serious)
Upon leaving the inner part of the cave, fell out of the map for seemingly no reason, while getting the ATV missing warning. Fell for a few minutes before pressing "." to teleport to base; had Autosave on so the game saved in this state. ALL objects are gone from the ENTIRE map, nothing remained, including all of the servers, main room consoles, meat from the meat room in the basement, event related objects, etc. All of the trash and grime, as well as chunks of meat on the roof, got reset. Later decided to check with debug camera if there's anything beneath the map(to see if maybe everything fell under the map like I did), instead found the purple crystal from the inner cave which isn't present on other savefiles. So I assume that the game saved the objects from the inner cave and then imported them onto the main location, causing everything to disappear(maybe not? I don't know really).
So uh, is there a way to fix this? It's my main savefile so I really hope there's some way. Doubt it, but I will cope until the end.
Lads, What do i do if my Posters, paintings, stickers dont work? They are just basics or they have no texture.
Weird radar issue.
I have 4 cameras set up at every Dish, 4 on the Tower, and 2 at each of the 3 transformers. (4*24+4+3*2 = 106 cameras)
With the player and and the ATV, I should have a total of 108 pinging radar entities.
However, the cameras set up at Foxtrot and Uniform pop into and out the radar.
I removed the cameras at Foxtrot and Uniform and now the radar entity count stay steady aside from a deer wondering in and out of range near Victor.
.......As I say that, I try collecting the drives from around the Processor slot, save, reload, then it works. Leaving this up for anyone else who encounters this issue.
In Solar Mode did not recieve the daily task tried it 3-4 times to confirm the issue still not got the task Idk if it is a feature or not but I thought I report it anyway
When i try to play the game on my school laptop it says fatal error and nothing else.
It loads into the menu but when I hit tutorial and play it just loads for a few seconds and then it crashes

GAMEBREAKING CAVE BUG
so my friend was in the cave mining and he ragdolled / fell out of the map (there wasnt any info on what happened) and when he returned outside, EVERYTHING WAS GONE, he recovered an old save, but he might quit VotV, all the trash was there as if it was resetted.

I wanted to edit my previous report, because I noticed smth new about the problem. I fall immediately, after trying to stand up from a "crawling mode". Each time I accidentally, or in need press Crawl, it ends the same. I can't stand up after that. If I try, the falling starts immediately on the same place.
I discovered that I can disable it by interacting with computer or console screen, while crawling. After that I just press esc and character stands up, with ability to walk normally again. But still, with that problem I can't use "Crawl" anywhere.
And no, there's no sick or hungry notifications.
Hi! It sounds like your 'crouch' button and the 'ragdoll' button might be getting mixed up. By default, 'Left CTRL' is the button to crouch/uncrouch (or crawl as you called it), and 'C' is the ragdoll button which will make your character fall over. Maybe your keybinds are messed up, or it's just a habit of pressing 'C' to crouch? I hope this helps!
yup! Totally normal event! You can destroy mannequins without activating their aggro by destroying with a hammer/wrench/rocks or what I do is bash their head into the grounds lol :X
Edit: best way if you can afford is buying the wood chipper because you can just sell the garbage !
in the keybinds option you can see what the keybind for "return home" or something like that this will put you in your base.
you could also drive with you atv out of the hole by driving on the sides of the hole
im asuming you are talking about the hole with the argemina close to uniform if not you can go to the menu click on the save file and hit "reset atv" this will RESET your atv so you would have no fuel but your atv will be in the garadge
Do you maybe have 2 screent that have different resolutions if yes you can change it in the settings in your laptop/pc
And if you do not have 2 screens maybe it is still that you settings is not on the right screen resolution you can fix this by going to the settings -> screen -> advanced -> resolution. I think
aahhh that is a rare event its caused by having a special signal with a red skull to not get this ending youll have to find the drive and delete it if you arn’t sure which drive it is just wipe them all clean to ensure that you can progress with the game you cane wipe the drives in the main room on the right side of the glass against the wall next to the sever room

that's a glitch with the new update, only fix that might work is setting the day to 26 and possibly skipping the event. Haven't tried it myself because I never got to day 26 on the previous version.
Well, somehow im downoloaded it, but, why is there no folders for images for custom paints, also there is no folders for sounds for radio. How i can fix that?
