i managed to get three endings of the endings (somehow unlocked all four on the menu tho?) and it was really cool trying to figure out what i needed to do :D and as always the art is absolutely amazing! (also are the things on the menu from septembit? cause i feel like I've seen them before lol)

Developer(+1)

you got me good Malek!
Great work! Some of the endings do fit similar criteria I should have safeguarded against hehe

Indeed, you are right, reusing the Septembit assets to fit the narrative I wished to convey

More beautiful pixel art! Nice sound effects and incredible color palette choice.

Developer

hey HugBug! Thanks for dropping by! Glad you enjoyed these aspects of the game!

Continues to be a fun art style! I will admit that I still only have a light grasp of what actions are happening and how one thing relates to the next. After seeing one of your tweets, I realized there was more than what I initially encountered. I went back and was able to unveil the glitchy red book, but still I’m definitely not getting all of what you showed off.

I’d be curious of a walkthrough video to find out what I missed, even if it was just a no audio no voiceover recording. I did notice the dice showing up, but couldn’t understand why sometimes they would disappear after re-opening a book, or why sometimes the numbers would be different. I can understand trying to walk the fine line of obscure but rewarding for those that can figure things out, others below certainly managed, I guess I didn’t 😅

Developer

Hey Patrick! Thanks for giving it a go and leaving feedback!

Maybe some of my tweets ended up being confusing as I might have decided to exclude stuff or things didnt manage to make it in the game hehe.

Of course, there was a slight bug that refills the well by consuming one blue cat, so that makes it all the more confusing hehe

I will definitely give you a shout once I make such a video! Endmark games plays it at 01:42 https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2090879520 (if that helps)

Thanks for sharing that! Yup Endmark’s playthrough was very similar to mine, even the mental points of aha’s of uncovering new animations and so forth. Though I was somehow less focussed on the cats disappearing or changing, maybe because the animation of the button and the laser firing was more prominent I didn’t notice.

I will always love your art style!! Also, can't get over the books flipping pages!!
I had to get the evil kitty ending!

Developer

Hey LordHermes! Thanks for the love and the support!
Glad you managed to reach it!

As always, love your art and style.  I keep going back and forth on if i think the story/gameplay are too obscure or just the right level of obscure.  Certainly a fascinating game to explore!

Developer

hey Hazmatt! Thanks for the support and giving this a shot!

A very confusing title. The gameplay was interesting, and I loved the way every object sounded. Finding the corrupted ending was really fun. I got 3 different endings.

Developer(+1)

Hey Potatuetata! (that was pain to try and spell properly lol)

Thanks for sticking with it and getting 3! I know how weird it can be, having seen people stream their confusion a few times now hehe.

Glad you enjoyed the corrupted one! It certainly was fun to animate and see how the eyes worked XD

Always love your art style and game entries. I couldn't get the second of four endings it looks like. I'll try again when I'm done playing and rating the rest.

Developer(+1)

Hey Dev Pirates!
Thanks for dropping by and for your kind words!
Congratulations for getting to an ending first of all, and for being patient to find more than one! I tried to leave a comment that links to a tweet that has some suggestions if you REALLY want to try for the other ending. But to be honest, after the bugs that made it in, there might be another way you get the ending that I am not aware of yet hehe

Forgot the screen capture I took:

I'll definitely keep trying.

woohoo! Flex! Thanks for sharing!

I admire your commitment!

All the art and animations are awesome. The gameplay is confusing, but fun to play around with. I didn't quite get the story, but I still enjoyed picking up and moving cats. Also, I love the pun in the title!

Developer(+1)

Hey Q34! Thanks for playing! Glad you liked the art (and the cat picking and the pun :D )

I tried to communicate without language, so I didn't include the math language either. I just used points on a dice to show or actually "hint" progression to the player. When you pick and move cats, and put them in the grinder, things appear and ... move along the story you chose. It has technically 3 + 1 endings you can choose. As a player, you are also going through your own story. "How long will you keep playing?" and "what will you notice?" and "game full of bugs makes this more confusing than it needs to be" (this is my story hehe, a few annoying things I forgot to control make the game even more confusing). Hopefully i'll make a YouTube video over the next 3 years about this, so it will all be revealed there :D

I played through the whole game twice and still don't really know what was happening? The art and animations are superb and adorable. A bit more instruction or direction for the gameplay would have been nice. Overall well done.

Developer

Thanks HalfSmore for trying it out! When you mean you played it twice, meaning you got to see my logo splattered across the screen? XD

You have a set of actions you can complete. Points in dice go up (“no language” was part of the constraints, so not even Arabic numerals used hehe).

Then, depending where you invested your points, you might get one of many endings. Thanks for the support!

Thanks! Maybe I'll try to play through it again and see if I can do something differently.

The animations, particularly the way the books open and shut are awesome. I also liked the ability to pick up the cats and basically clicking on everything to see what it did was fun. Best of luck in both jams

Developer(+1)

Hey GameFavorites! Thanks for dropping by! Glad you enjoyed the animations!

Thanks for playing around with it and thanks for the kind wishes!
