Damn, i have a gameplay fetish on bows and so on, it is just so much fun.
Great job!

Something strange happened after i tried to get into fullscreen after alt-tabing away. But it isnt a crit, just scary looking box white box. (im sorry, itch wont let me upload an error image, and ive lost it...)

Developer

Glad you liked it :). Yeah I think I've seen that before. I can't remember if I've been able to replicate it the issue myself but refreshing seems to fix it. Thank you for letting me know :)

Very good game with some polish in many areas could be a full game, but given what you.ve done in 10 days incredible

Developer

TYSM! Yeah definitely needs a lot of polish to get to that point :). I appreciate it :)

The bow mechanic is really fun to play with. The voice overs and cutscene is really good. The sound effects are also on point. The second dimension doesn't really have any significance to the story. But I always appreciate having more enemies to shoot at with the bow. A soldier went through wall ( Maybe he used the dimension shift magic? XD ). Some music would be great.

Overall, great game.

Developer

Lol thank you. Yeah I was having issues with unity's nav mesh system so I had to write my own pathfinding system and I didn't include object avoidance just due to time. It was something I had in the backlog but I was ok with not having it if it came down to time. Music would've been great too.

Glad you liked it :)

Best. Fourth. Wall. Break. Ever. Exclamation. Mark. I loved this entry!! OmyDog what an amazing team! Instant follow. Great stuff.

Developer

Lol thank you, I'm glad you liked that :)

It seems ı forgot to leave a review. The game is good. has very good attention to details. Nice voice acting. A bit hard because of the bow since it is not a close range weapon. I liked that there is a feedback for the headshots and that they matter.

Developer

Thank you glad you liked it. Yeah I think it would be cool to add different weapons in the future

Ambitious game for a 10 day project. Goat men? What kind of world is this? I thought the bow & arrow physics were good eventhough it takes forever to draw. Good voice acting. It's obvious that you used many different asset packs. Good job overall.

Developer

Ty very much :)

The cut scene is funny. It seems I always miss when the target is far away. Still managed to beat it by shooting close range then running away. Fun game :)

Developer

Thank you I appreciate that. I do think there is an issue with some of the arrows not registering a hit. I was watching someone else play but the screen was blurry you know. But that's something I have to look into. Glad you liked the cutscene :)

This was a really ambitious game to pull off in such a short period of time! I think it would have been more fun, except for a couple of things. The mouse controls seemed very squirrely and every time I drew the bow it seemed to pull toward the ground. Also, this may just be my lack of skill, but it seemed to take an awful lot of hits to bring a monster down, and I had no way of knowing what the enemy's health was. Finally, there was a slider for music volume, but there was no music, and the environment felt empty as a result. (I downloaded the native Mac build, for context.) Would love to play a more polished version though!

Developer

Yeah the enemy health is something I just didn't think about. The way I set it is for the big monsters, it takes 2 fully charged headshots to take them down. So a full charged shot is 50 damage and a headshot adds a 2x multiplier. The monsters have 200 health so if you don't charge your shots and don't aim for headshots it takes longer. I had my brother play test it but I think that's one issue with having just one play tester is that they're always comparing the game to what it was in the past. And before the arrows and draw speed were a lot slower so in comparison it probably felt better for him but in actuality maybe it was still too slow. I don't think there's a slider for the music, I might have made a mistake. but there should only be 3 sliders a master, dialogue, and sfx. I might have forgot to change the label text for the dialogue or something when I exported to mac though.

Thank you for trying it out :). I will definitely be adding in some more polish to it if I continue with the project :)

Submitted(+1)

Ah, that makes sense. I think I should give it another shot (so to speak). I'll have more time tomorrow. Also, you're probably right--there was a master slider, and I somehow got confused and expected music. But still, music would be cool!

Re: playtesters, I didn't have any, and it definitely would have helped me. It just didn't occur to me to try to find some because simply producing a game seemed like a lift in the time we had. So I applaud you for having anyone test out your game at all!

Submitted(+1)

Oh my goodness, this is great. The voice acting, the character saying the theme and then looking at the camera, brilliant. I had a hard time getting the hang of the gameplay, but I'm not very good at shooting games, so that might be a me problem. :) One suggestion for the web build, I would use something other than ESC for the pause screen, because that key also causes you to exit full screen mode in some browsers (I use Chrome). Great work!

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the voice acting. I can't take credit for that but that was something I wanted to try out and see how working with voice actors would work and that process. I think the process was ok. A little disorganzied because it was a jam you know but it was pretty seamless on my end. P also pauses :)

Submitted

D'oh! I should have read the controls in the game description instead of figuring them out by trial and error. lol

Submitted(+1)

"Too easy!" Just kidding, I nearly died! Satisfying archery gameplay! :) The cutscene was also a highlight, especially that direct stare into the camera after name dropping the scene. Honestly I think our wizard friend should have handed over his assault rifle instead of his dimension warping powers. Speaking of, I'm not sure how shooting all those soldiers was helpful to the people of our home dimension, but I'm sure it must have been somehow.

If you aim an arrow and then put your bow away it causes a glitch where the player is holding an extra arrow at an odd angle for the rest of the game. Also, the first thing I did upon entering the other dimension was run up to that sports car and try to get in, only to find out it was intangible!

Developer(+1)

Lol yeah. The story doesn't make too much sense with the context of why you're shifting dimensions. A lot of people have mentioned the rifle thing. I think if I continue the project that's definitely something I'm going to add in Maybe driving too 👀

firing the bow felt really crunchy, such a satisfying feeling! I didn't see the second level though because monsters kept beating me up :( Great game! had lots of fun!

Developer

Thank you :). I'm glad you liked the bow even though you didn't get to see the cutscene :)

Submitted(+1)

Wow! What can I say that Voice Acting was spectacular. It felt like I was listen to real voice actors nice inflections good emphasis on words. It was immersive. I loved the breaking of the 4th wall camera stare from the wizard. I wish there were some spell effects but it amazing that you got such good art in here, I can bet with everything you did you just did not have time for the spell effects. The arrow play was good. The only thing is that I felt like tweaking the bow pull back timing to be a bit faster would make it feel better. A health indicator for the enemies would be nice as well. That was a great game.

Submitted(+1)

Heyo o/ what a treat this was, especially the bow mechanic. I really felt like aiming with the bow mattered and also being rewarded for headshots was nice :) cutscene was a pleasant surprise as well! I think the scale of the world could be smaller, sometimes the buildings felt too big for the player, especially the terrain in the first city, it was a bit tedious running around looking for ogres. That being said, it was a good time regardless. Good job!

Developer(+1)

yeah definitely the second level was a bit too big I think as well. glad you enjoyed it :)

Submitted(+1)

Nice game! really enjoyed the bow mechanic. Great job!

Developer

Thank you :)

Submitted(+1)

Really fun! Mechanics and feedback felt nice and chunky, definitely made me want to properly aim and time my shots. Voice acting work was top notch!

Developer

Thank you very much :)

Character Design and Sound to go with them are amazing, its great hearing some VO work for this aswell.

From a dev perspective, this is great work!

From a players perspective, the only critisism would be that it feels a bit slow and clunky maybe, just speeding up a bit

Developer

Ty :) Was watching during stream

Submitted(+1)

Great job on this one. Cutscenes and VO were well done. I would have liked some sort of marker on the ground indicating where the arrow would land to help with aiming, but I kinda started to get the hang of it. I really wanted to be able to run, too. Fun game though!

Developer

Ty :) The running is a feedback I'm getting a lot. I will definitely implement that if I continue with the project. ;) I was thinking about adding in a target at the point of contact but I thought maybe it wouldn't be too advantageous because the arrow is a projectile so since the targets are moving and when you release the arrow it wouldn't be accurate to where you wanted to hit. But something to think about. I looked at other games with bows and saw how they did it. And they also didn't show the location. But maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea. I would have to test. Ty for feedback :)

Submitted(+1)

I liked it :D it's a prototype for sure, but the cutscenes were amazing. Especially "Life in 2 dimensions " and the look behind the shoulders :D  I was hoping, when I switch the aggro drops, but at least I could move away. Music would it make so much better. For me the voices were a little distorted. But overall it was a nice game!

If you have the time, play and rate mine, too :P

Developer(+1)

Thanks will check yours out! I'm really glad people are liking the cutscene. :) Glad you enjoyed it. Definitely need some polish if I continue :)

Submitted(+1)

I loved the bow mechanic, great job! Really fun game! I'd add some music though.

Developer

True ty glad you liked it :). Will add music if I continue with the project :)

Oh my gosh, i haven't played such a game in ages! It gives off Venetica vibes, and Kabol was called I think?

Brought back a bit of nostalgia. However, that nostalgia was shattered when i saw the mage inspecting a freaking scar! i was not expecting that! I believe that you'd be a good addition to a team which creates games with a lot of gags! The game in itself seemed to have no issue whatsoever. I enjoyed the free exploration bit as I love to explore games.

I have found one bug, which i cheesed. In the last level you can climb up the wall and the mobs AI won't know how to get to you lol. It was a fun experience.

Developer(+1)

Thanks I'm glad you enjoyed it :). Yeah I'm surprised people aren't coming into more bugs during the game. But there is definitely a lot of bugs with the AI and bow mechanic. I'm glad you liked the little jokes. I thought they might be too cheesy but seems like some are enjoying them :)
