This is an amazing hard turn-based game :D I didn't play these genres, but I have really big fun playing it. Unfortunately, when the map appeared I didn't understand what I should do. I thought this is a loading :D But I found the first level which was almost the same color as the closed ones.
The gameplay is an awesome and interesting idea about grows theme :) I didn't think this could be possible :D
Others have already commented on an obvious area that needs a tweak. Other than that a brilliant entry. Tiles, strategy and felt RPG-like to me too. Really enjoyed playing.
This was a really cool rpg/puzzle mashup. I love that I could map my own path by drawing it too, instead of it be automated to the most "efficient" route like other tile based games do. It eliminates having to do multiple clicks to move precisely the way you want.
My main constructive feedback is the level select screen was not very intuitive. I am embarrassed at how long it too me to figure out how to start the game lol. Need to make the available levels stand out more from the unavailable ones.
Really great game, the mechanics are super well thought out and the number of levels is super impressive. The only thing I'd say is you need some kind of indicators for the levels because it's hard to tell what level is open to play and some indicator that you gotta drag the player's path around because I was stuck on the first level for a bit of time not knowing how to attack. Otherwise great work! Keep it up!
Great presentation in this game! The scene transitions and art style all looked really nice! One comment on the map. I sat on the screen for about 10 seconds thinking it was a loading screen until I realized I was supposed to do something. I think if the levels were colored with green dots or something it might have stuck out to me more. From a gameplay perspective, I think with a bit of polish this could be a very nice minimalist puzzle game - nice work in 48 hours!
A strategy game with functional AI in 2 days. I'm amazed. I couldn't figure out the meaning of the extra numbers and really struggled after the first few levels. I get that the enemies grow stronger if you take too long to kill them though, and that's definitely in theme. And so many levels! Wow.
I love this concept, feels like both a strategy game and a puzzle game combined! Only issues I had were not realising when I had a second usable character, and sometimes the ground colours were too similar I couldn't tell what was water and what wasn't. Overall definitely one of the most polished games I've played.
I had a hard time finding the levels at first haha but once I got into it, I enjoyed the strategy. Great work putting this together in such a short amount of time!
Thank you for playing, it warms my heart ๐ I'm happy that you see the complexity of the AI, not easy for everyone to see how hard it is to do this. It's the strength but also the weakness. Because I spent 3/4 of my thing on this interesting game mechanic, I couldn't spend it on readability which is crucial in all games. Thank you for playing again!
Cant believe that you made so many levels in such a shot time. After spent about half an hour to beat the game I think it's really interesting.Great job!
But I'm also bit confused about why sometimes the enemies did not attack me in their turn. And it's difficult to find where level entrance is on the map of the first time.
Thank you for playing and thank you for the feedback!
I got to say that it was quite a challenge to do the AI and shot myself in the foot from the start. I have to spent 3/4 of my time on a final state machine and A Star pathfinding for the AI. I completely agree that the game could've been more readable, I need to learn from my errors and spend more time on making the game polish rather then full of features ahah.
Again, thank you for playing, I'm glad you had fun progressing around the map ๐
I had the idea about growing monster (and went into a strategy/management game :D), but it wouldn't have been into a puzzle like this, great idea!
The music is nice, the world map is nice but I thought it was broken at first, maybe put a hint into the description where to click (I found, but if I was lost, I think I won't be the only one :p)
The atmosphere is really nice, a bit of trial and error at first, but I got the concept pretty fast, well done!
Thank you for playing and thank you for the feedback!
I got to say this one was quite a challenge specially for the AI. Doing A Start Pathfinding on an hexagonal grid was troublesome but worked in the end. I would've love to spend more time on the readability of my game. Like you mentioned, many things needs to be guessed from the player but the fun you get from playing compensate once you understand!
Again, thank you for playing ๐
