Really nice graphics, liked the planets on the top of the screen. Also nice with different enemies who had different attacks. Well done!
I really liked this experience!
I think the introduction of ranged enemies on the cliff tops was done really well, especially with the stage that served to show that you can shoot on top of those (I was interested as to why that was the case and then went "ah ha!" on the stage directly afterwards).
I noticed that the cursor disappears if you're in the bottom 30% or so of the screen, but unsure if that's just HTML5 canvas issue stuff or a general issue? Tracking down web export bugs is the worst but it may be an issue with viewport vs resolution size.
The ending reminded me of the ending of Toe Jam & Earl which is one of my favorites, so thanks for that smile!
fun little complete game and tight controls! the planets on the top banner of the game are a nice touch. completed pretty easily. good work!
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I love the animating planet bar at the top, looks great. Feedback is good, stuff like hit sound and changing enemy color on hit. Walk animation is nice polish. Good difficulty progression with increasingly dangerous enemies. One minor nitpick is the end level sound was a little comparatively loud but overall you did a great job.
Gotcha will definitely look into that sound issue. Thank you for playing! Glad you liked it!
What a funny concept! I was not prepared for that. I love the shooting system. You also passed a nice message in the game. I actually played until the end and saved the planet 😄 If I can give some feedback. I would say the player was sliding a bit too much. I guess you used a rigidbody and added force to it. If that is the case, you should look into playing the velocity by yourself instead of adding forces. It will make the player feel much more in control of your games. Otherwise, you got yourself a wonderful game that I had fun to play! You can be proud of what you made 💛
Hmm that's odd I used velocity of 3 for all horizontal and vertical movements with 0 whenever the player isn't clicking any of the keys. I'll have to look into it more, nevertheless I'm glad you enjoyed the game. Thank you for playing!
Loved the presentation, the visuals of the planets at the top of the screen really sold the atmosphere. Nice work!
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Nice game. was fun to play. I really liked how everything became green when you finished a level. The shooting and bullet mechanic could feel more precise. It was very hard to gauge how long a shot is traveling.
Great submission.
I'm glad you liked the transitions and I will definitely fix the shooting post jam! Thank you for playing!
Nice concept for the game, maybe sometimes it feels a bit clunky, but overall it's nice to play. Keep it up!
I'm glad you liked it, you're complexity right, I need to fix up the shooting post jam. Thank you for playing!
nice idea and cool concept! I would prefer it to be more on theme, but nonetheless, it was a great game. I really liked the idea of the champion being able to cleanse the others but not himself. He could save others from death, but not himself. IRONIC!
Great game, well done!
I'm glad you liked it, the idea for the theme was that you were regrowing the planet with each level you beat the planet comes back to life, it's a bit out there but best I could come up with. I didn't even consider that bit about the champion, very cool observation. Thank you for playing!
Calm music and nice messages are a cool twist for a shooter. Congrats!
I'm glad you liked it! Thank you for playing!
The transition from "dirty" to "clean" is a little jarring and it took me a bit to realize "Oh, I am still here I can move on to the next screen by walking to this path etc." mainly because it looked like it was going to auto-take me to the next level :D Cute little story and lovely take on the theme. One of them even asked me for a date and but the work of giving people baths is never done :D
I'm glad you liked it, and hero's work never ends even if there's a date proposed. I wanted to give the player a little down time between levels to go see the dialogues between the different characters they rescued so I didn't auto load next level. Thank you for playing!
I found this a bit too difficult to enjoy, with the crosshair being so large, covering up the enemy bullets so I couldn't see them in time, as well as being offset, and the bullet range being so short but at the same time going through walls. That said, there's a good concept at the heart of this, and I'm willing to give it another try later on.
All fair points, I will definitely be working on the shooting system for a post game jam patch. Thank you for playing!
The guy I saved in the second stage pushed me across the stage as he said you're my hero, and on rhw later level, pushed me towards the enemy killing me as he thanked me. Cracked me up! I beat it and they all hailed me as a champion! I loved it!
I clicked on something offscreen on the right on the 4th stage and the whole screen went blue, and stayed like that (but it was still playable), and then I clicked something offscreen on the left and it fixed it!
I'm glad that the game was able to bring out so much fun, I'm gonna have to look into that bug, haven't seen it before but than again didn't get a chance to play test it before submitting either. Thank you for playing!
Really like how the panel up top constantly shows the planet, doubling as a text bubble. Cool game!
I'm glad you thought so, I was very much inspired by Binding of Issac for the layout. Thank you for playing!
I love the simple game play and you implementation of the theme! Great work! I struggled a little with the shooting guys that were in the middle of those rocks, but eventually figured it out. Good job :)
Yeah the shooting systems are still under-cooked, definitely gonna fix them post jam patch. but I'm glad you were able to beat it! Thank you for playing!
Very original idea. Good work! =)
Thank you for playing!
Great job! When I finished the last level, and moved to the screen with all the happy little guys, it made me really happy too.
Awww I'm glad, really tried to go for a wholesome vibe. Thank you for playing!
Fun game. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the one-liners. The shooting was a bit off like you said, but it was still fun!
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for playing!
This was super wholesome. He difficulty scaled well. I kept going because I wanted to read more wholesome little speech bubbles lol.
The main feedback I have would be to make the aiming reticle smaller, it often felt like where I was aiming wasn't where the projectiles went, but I think that might have just been a perception issue since the reticle was so large, it was hard to know if it was centered on the enemy while focused on dodging enemy bullets.
You're definitely right, ran out of time to make the shooting work perfectly will definitely patch that post jam. Thank you for playing!
This was amazing.
The attention to detail here is top tier. Having all the characters have a little one liner was really funny. Having the visual representation of the planet at all times was a really nice motivator as well as seeing the level change. Combat also felt like a puzzle, in a good way. It really made you think about the best way to approach them.
The only issue I had was the projectiles. They were a little too slow for my liking and I found that they never went to where I was aiming.
But other than that I really enjoyed this.
The combat really could use a bit more of tweaking, will look into fixing it up for post jam. I'm glad you enjoyed the game!
