nice and fun game. the enemies need more work. they need to look more different compared to each other and their AI needs to be a bit better.
Gameplay and graphics reminds me of Hotline Miami, while the gun upgrades is similar to Contra.
As a big fan of both of those games, I enjoyed my time playing this one. Maybe increasing the bullet speed and player speed would've helped in the "action" of the game. But the game is already enjoyable in it's current state. Congrats on finishing the jam !
This was super fun! I just love the combination of strategy and luck here, i.e. being able to save your best dice for critical moments, but never being sure exactly what you'll end up with, making you adapt to all kinds of weapons (and there's a good amount of them for a jam game)! The only annoying part was ending up with the chainsaw in the middle of one of the later waves, but that's the gamble I made, and it's far from the weakest chainsaw I've used in a game anyway. I also appreciate the enemy behavior in that they've got solid pathfinding and aren't too unpredictable, which makes it feel like I could probably get a very good score after practicing the movement and all the weapons.
Really interesting way to incorporate the die. I liked how the players kinda stuck with the weapon that they rolled until they ran out of ammo, I can see it forcing people to learn how to play with different weapons, and it gives the opportunity to add a little more variety to how powerful each is. I think that one big hindrance was having to press space every time to reroll, which really slowed down the pacing. Other than that, I think if you were to continue development, cleaning up the assets would be nice, but that's kinda just like a nitpick. Really fun take on the theme! Good job^^
It's not super original, but it is a lot of fun and it got me hooked for a while! I died after I played for maybe 15min or something, but I don't know for sure, because there was no score at the end. Even though the guns are random, I like that there are still packs to choose from, however, it's a little annoying to go through a menu every few seconds. I would maybe automatically roll after your gun is empty and have you switch packs either with an extra button or between stages (if your planning to add more). Also reminded me a lot of Enter the Gungeon.
Cool game. I got to wave 11 or 12. Once I ran out of tier 2 guns, the wave of shot wielding soldiers finally overwhelmed me. The chain saw was definitely the weapon i did not want to roll. The mini gun on the other hand was super fun and evaporated a good wave or more. I good solid take on this genre.
