Didn't beat it, hard platformers is hard for me. But the game looks good and limitation is done well. I like it

Finally beat it! I like the game's unique ice physics - you go in expecting it to work like sliding in zelda-likes, but how the force and sliding works is actually a bit more nuanced. Much like how things work a little differently in dreams.

Loving the sound and visual. The really simple gameplay really hooks you

Really frustrating but ultimately very competent. Check out my review at https://www.twitch.tv/scalphamission

This is so freaking hard but it's super fun! Love the pixel art

I love the music and the art! The character's animation is adorable. I also think the idea of having the physics randomized is a super creative use of the limitation and really makes the runs interesting. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but the levels switch between 'grass' and 'ice' depending on the amount of friction right? If so, wonderful touch that makes the randomized physics a little less annoying, such as to not make the player unexpectedly go careening off a cliff (which I did anyways :P)

All around great entry!

Okay, just some more praise for the game, I wrote the review, went back to what I had been doing and now the song is stuck in my head. Very catchy tune!

absolutely, yes! the palette is selected depending on how slippery it is, giving both indication of what to expect and a bit of aesthetic variety :3

Hi Fox! Super fun gameplay, really tight controls. The platforming itself is really solid and very responsive which makes this a joy to play. Got a little hand cramp due to fighting for space on the keyboard between A and S/F :D but it was worth it. I loved all the crazy little levels and the idea of having to collect them in the correct order to progress collecting ALL of the shards/crystals, super neat idea. Sounds were perfect, not too much and felt very arcadey (I could of played for a lot long) I managed to get the birdy which was really nice too.. would of really enjoyed seeing what other controllable characters you came up with and how they interact with the level!

Super solid little game ( Oh and ps. I loved and hated the slippery snow level... >_< )

I became a bird.... 10/10 would bird again. I really liked this entry.  It would be nice to have a running counter of how many gems I have left to collect while I am playing.

It feels like an old arcade game and I love this! :D

The sound design is great! This game is frustrating but in a totally good way, because of the way it subverts your expectations (it seems that the jump height/gravity/friction are all random, right?). That makes it so fun to play.

Having the time shown at the end makes me want to try again to get a better score, and this is the catch: by trying to go fast you usually fail because you assume the same levels are going to play the same. Really cool entry,  great job!

thanks so much!

absolutely, yes! i expected most people would go for procedural generation, and wanted to see what would happen if i went for procedural mechanics instead. getting the best time requires getting good luck in the physics rather than good luck in the worldgen :3

Very cool style, the movement is really cool, just wanted more levels to suffer on. Great stuff :)

Waouh ! Really nice one !! :D I love the go back effect when you change the direction :p

nice game. you can play as a bird which is beutiful

Submitted(+1)

Small yet refined. Enjoyed the challenge and got suitably angry when sliding off of higher platforms. Becoming the bird was the best thing to happen to me all morning haha.

Cute tiny game.

I love the artstyle! For me it was S and F to move and A to jump instead of ZXCV not too sure if that's intentional!

ah! that just means you pressed to begin on the player 2 controller. PICO-8 has keys assigned for two controllers by default, and i read only from whichever was used to start the game. with gamepads attached, it makes for a turn-based multiplayer setup. Will add a note to the description indicating that, thanks!
