I really loved this game! I'm a huge sucker for tycoon style games, and before I new I was half an hour in. My only complaints are the ones you've already heard: the bee speed upgrade feels a bit unnecessary and the honey bees are too slow. Other than that, a delightful game! Great work!

what tranquility but afterwards xD tides the hairiness hahaha the store does not update itself after taking the honey

Really good game. In the beginning, the repetitive tasks of collecting pollen and honey felt very relaxing. But this feeling decreased progressively as the incremental aspect took over. In the late game I had to spend more time inside the hive, having to bring each drop of honey to the container, rather than outside.

Another problem of the incremental genre is that the upgrades should be well balanced. For example the honey collector bees couldn't keep pace with the pollen collector bees, especially after buying the honey multiplier.

Apart from these issues, the art and music are great and it's overall a nice game.

Thank you for the kind words! The honey collectors were made intentionally slow so that it was more visibly apparent how much faster you were making the honey, but you're completely right they get outpaced very quickly and it's just that little balance (plus the terrible implementation of the Speed upgrade) that really bogs down the experience. Still, thank you so much for playing and rating!

oof! i really got sucked into this one! great job :) i loved the simple loop of flying down to the flowers, flying up to drop off pollen, collecting more pollen, and then harvesting the honey that developed in the meantime! it had really sweet slow-paced vibes. i think my biggest suggestion is that personally, i didn't enjoy having a queen bee speed upgrade! i think in a game like this, the joy comes from increasing the automation. by making the queen faster, it made the other bees a little less useful, and also took away from the sweet slow-paced vibes! maybe a "honey carry capacity" upgrade for the queen bee could have kept the game still feeling calm and chill, wall also allowing you to upgrade your player character.

that was a long way to say i really enjoyed the game! thought it went great with the theme and the controls were smooth and had a blast just watching the little queen trail as i zipped along. also is there an end state to the game? i hope i didn't miss out on an ending haha

Thanks for the kind words! I agree completely about the speed upgrade, almost all the complaints about the game are centered around that one upgrade so maybe after the jam I'll implement something like what you suggested! Unfortunately there isn't an endgame, no. I originally planned for the queen to have 15 days (each day would be around 10 minutes or so) to collect enough workers to fend off a random encounter, but I decided for the jam to just keep it simple and let people play for as long or short as they wanted without feeling pressured to "finish" anything. Maybe something for the future, thanks for playing!

What a nice relaxing game! It was nice getting the upgrades and making yourself more efficient. Was really happy to see that the worker bees are fully automated and do well by themselves. Must've been some work to implement the AI for that!

Thanks for the feedback and kind words! The AI was tough, and honestly still is kind of buggy, but that was really the part that I wanted to nail down the most, and I'm glad it worked out in the end. Thanks for playing!

I love these types of games, and I think you did a wonderful job at a fresh take on the genre. I had to eventually stop after spending 30 minutes just collecting honey so I could start playing other people's games! I loved the small details in the movement especially, the lil worker bees slowly deccelerating towards the honey, the trail following the queen, oh and the cells being highlighted when over them was a spicy bit of visual feedback. I guess my biggest criticism would be the speed multiplier, which made me feel motion sick when it got too fast - though I'm pretty sensitive to that stuff.

Thanks for making it, I'm going to go back and collect some more honey :)

Developer

Hahaha, yeah, the speed increase is something that I need to SERIOUSLY tone down in the future. I was trying to make it so that you were pretty guaranteed to get up to at least 7 if you tried in one sitting but I made it a little TOO easy! Thanks for playing, and for the feedback.

Game was great! I'm a sucker for an original incremental game and you had me hooked on this one. The queen bee was a nice take on the restriction! I spent way too long flying around this hive, but I  had a real good time with it! Art is super cute and I played until my eyes hurt from the bee flying too fast

Also should add it looks like the web build doesn't work for anyone who is coming to it, you'll want to download the windows version

Rip web ver. :(

Windows ver.:

Super chill game, and a charming art direction!

Started off pretty slow, but it ramps up quickly, so it's fine imo.

Optional tutorial is a big plus.

Thanks for playing! I'm not sure what happened to the web version, I hope once the jam is over I can fix that. Thanks for the feedback!

Game looks really cool but it wont load for me.  Is anyone else having this issue or is it just me?

Developer

Sorry about the issues, for some reason the web version must not have compiled correctly. For now the other versions seem to still work, so downloading is still an option. Thanks for checking it out!
