very fun little game! love the character designs - both charming and functional. levels were well designed and just the right amount of trickiness. The music is really nice. not too loud (I can not understate how much I appreciate not getting my ear drums blown out hahaha). good job!
very fun submission, i can see this being expanded with a few more characters to turn it into a really good game outside of the jam too, great work
Really cute puzzle platformer! Love the setting and mechanics work fantastically, all I have to say is add more levels :D
This was actually super fun! I have to admit when I saw the front cover I was expecting something average but this is a game jam master piece!
Great game! Graphics and audio were great, and level design was brilliant (Although some harder bonus levels would be nice). The first level was tricky as I didn’t know what I was trying to do, and the particle effects for the end spots were subtle (noticeable, but not eye catching and clear that I need to get the characters there).
I read the hints after finishing the game and saw the double jump thing. I completed the game without this because there seems to be a wall jump glitch. (I thought that’s was what I was meant to be doing.)
The menu also looks pretty great, animations are great, just great art all round. A future addition could be to build in those shell wires into the background art so you don’t have green lines going straight through the game.
I enjoyed the hell out of this game, great job guys! and it's really interesting to see different spins on the idea similar to ours :)
I love the peaceful feeling that soundtrack and voicing creates, it goes well with the nature of meditative puzzle-solving. although I felt that on the second level the projectiles are a bit too aggressive and tricky to jump over.
hoping to see more of Turn the Tide in the future!
Incredibly solid entry. Im personally not a big fan of puzzle games, but you pulled of a great game!
An really fun puzzle game. It took me a bit to get used to the switching and attaching/detaching of the characters, but that's just the nature of a game like this. I really liked the animations, they gave the game a cute feel. I feel you really gave thought to the uses of your mechanics, like (spoilers) being able to attach to either the top or the bottom of the other character, and the jump-boost when you detach. I also appreciate that you are able to switch level at any time, as I was stuck at lvl 2 and wouldn't have finished the game otherwise.
Cool, colorful game! I always have a bit of trouble coordinating 2 separate characters and switching between them, but the game's reasonable pace made it manageable!
Fun characters, funky audio, interesting joining mechanic! My only point is initially I wasn't sure where to go on the first level - the end section particles are quite subtle and I even stood next to them for a while looking for where to go before I realised. I think maybe I assumed the 2 needed to cross the finish line together, so I was looking for something more like that. The yellow 'rocks' stuck out of the players reach looked attractive to me, I thought I needed to collect them somehow. Overall, great fun and quirky! Love it!
LOL , the cam need some work dude, other then that it's a cool experience over all
The a-ha moment when I realized I could stick Olly on top OR on the bottom! I loved it.
My only complaint was that the double-jump mechanic was a bit finicky to pull off. It might be handy to make it like other double jumps (press space bar twice) and then have it detach on the second jump.
Otherwise I thought it was really cool and would love to see it expanded on!
Super fun game! I really liked the puzzles, and having the two characters with very distinct strengths and weaknesses felt /super/ good! Great job! :)
This is very similar to the mechanic in my game and I'm glad I'm not the only one who used it
Great job this is a great game
Great theming! Every element tied together really nicely with the aquatic art style. I enjoyed the quickness that many of the actions required and I'm impressed how you built on the mechanics you showed! Great job!
Wow this art style reminds me of the underwater section in super mario bros 3. The characters all felt unique and well made.
