Neat concept. Game felt a little tedious, second level being a great example of this. It was easy enough to figure out what to do, but not particularaly fun to do. Concept has potential but the actual control and execution needs more work.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, Dan!

Good job! I enjoyed the two character gameplay and the interesting scenarios it created. I could definitely see the "joined together" aspect in this game. Also, the music change between the characters was a nice addition as well as it gave each character a more unique feel. Overall this was a solid entry to the jam and I had fun playing! :)

Developer

Glad you had fun, thank you for the feedback!

Nice concept and execution! I really liked the dash ability, it felt super satisfying to use. The gameplay was a little confusing at first, but I got the hang of it after a while. Good work!

Developer

Glad you liked the dash ability Elan, thanks for the feedback!

Really nice simple idea, and lovely art/music. I thought the controls were a little fiddly, with SHIFT hard to press (but then again, I'm not a PC gamer). Thought it was a well-crafted little game.

Developer

Hey Chris, thanks for the feedback, especially on the controls!

really big stand out to me was the music, it was pretty cool and im a huge fan of synthy stuff. I saw a lot of nice level design and polish, great job!

Developer

Glad you liked the music and level design, thanks for the feedback!

Hi beanc16!

The part of this game that stood out to me the most was the music. It was excellent that it kicks in when you first activate a character, and fills out when both characters are active. I thought that the "tutorial" was pretty well integrated into the game. Although it wasn't super obvious to me that the dash was unique to the bottom screen.

The polish was great, the music was great, and the mechanic was pretty fun! Great job and good luck in the rest of the jam!

Best,

Brandon from TheIndieDream

Developer

Hey Brandon, it is a bit unclear that each character has their own unique abilities (dash on bottom, "pogoing" / "goomba stomping" across obstacles on top). I've shared the feedback with the team, thanks for the help!

Really cool game. I felt the puzzles were really unique and fun.

Developer

Glad you liked the puzzles!

Nice concept, Movement animation felt a bit delayed, you can fix it in the animator and uncheck the exit time and transition duration, also I would love to change the character from some different handy keys like probably arrow keys, its just my suggestion, over nice game good job :) guys

Developer(+1)

Hey, you can also control the characters with the arrow keys, it just wasn't explicitly stated in game. Thanks for the feedback!

I really liked the music blending between the two games! The mechanic was pretty cool, being able to toggle the activity of either of the characters. It took me a while before I realized that the dash was in any direction and the physics is a bit wonky in some places. Other than that, the puzzles were pretty cool and it felt nice bumping off walls and just flying through the air to the goal flags. Nice work!

Developer(+1)

Glad you had fun! Thanks for the feedback, that's very helpful :)

A game that really well fits the theme! I think the central mechanic is one that is a simple rule that could lead to a lot of emergent mechanics or outcomes, which is always a good thing in my book. Gives me the feeling of "control two characters on the same map" where you can adjust your relative positions by smacking one against a wall, but here you have direct control - which is what I think opens up a lot of the possibilities. It becomes more of a game of map positioning than character positioning, in some senses.

I don't know any good fix, but I think the views for top and bottom were a little constrained for me - I sometimes had a hard time conceptualizing a plan because I couldn't quite see enough of the map at one time to fully mentally map how the spaces could interact. Given at the beginning and end you can see the "tapes" of the levels being offset when you sync / desync, I think an option to zoom out would both be aesthetically cool but also help for those who think more visually than abstractly. Then again, this all just could be the fault of my chronic inability to focus so I deliver a singular grain of salt to take.

Overall had a really fun time with the game!

Developer

Very different feedback from everything else I've read. That's super helpful and makes a lot of sense, thank you!

That's a lot of lore for such a small game, has different tracks for each side. The UI is a bit confusing, same with the controls, but overall it's pretty cool!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback Cutipus! Really appreciate it :)

Really cool concept with nice execution!

Developer

Awesome, thank you!

I really enjoyed the mechanics in this game, it's clear a lot of effort and work went into this one. It's also always nice to see a big team game in the jam! I really liked the ability to switch on and off the characters, however things were a bit finicky at times.

With a bit more polish around the controls this could be made into a really cool game post-jam!

Good job y'all!

Developer(+1)

Hey, glad to hear you enjoyed the game mechanics! Thanks for the feedback, we appreciate it :)

Really cool concept. Got a little stuck on the level where you have to go up. But with a little more polish this could be a really nice game.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, Adam!

That's pretty cool! I like the idea of needing to use elements from one screen to solve problems in the other. Bet the puzzles were tricky to design.

Developer

Hey Jeff! The puzzles were fun, but tricky to design. I did the tutorial (level 1) and others did the other three levels. The tutorial was real fun to make. Thanks for the feedback!

Interesting idea, especially your uses of audio. Found the game quite challenging. Nice art.

Developer

Hey James, thanks for the feedback!

Good Job.  Love the art!

We're glad you liked the art, pjz987. Thanks for the feedback!

Amazing game, strangely my favourite part of this game is that each of two screens have their own background music and each easily exists on their own but they also combine perfectly well

Developer

Hey andrground, we're glad you liked the music!

Submitted(+2)

Hello! Original mechanics with some interesting interactions as a result! We especially enjoyed the multi-layer audio tracks, they provided a nice feel for enabling and disabling different views. For improvements we'd suggest looking into a different way of activating the two views, since the views are placed vertically to each other while the buttons are placed horizontally there's a certain mismatch when making snap decisions. Overall a cool entry!

Developer

Hey, we're glad you really liked the music! We knew the controls for activating and deactivating cameras were a little confusing but hadn't figured out a better solution to them. Your suggestion makes a lot of sense, we hadn't thought of it that way. Do you think there's an obvious solution for this problem, or just trial and error through prototyping? Thanks for the review!

Submitted (1 edit) (+2)

Prototyping is probably the way to go yes, trying out the up and down arrow keys could work.

Developer

That makes sense! Thanks for the idea :)

another brain melter, good stuff!

Thank you!
