I'm not big on poetry but this was a really insightful experience

The poem was pretty sweet

really nice, love the poam! ;)
love that you did someting story driven! :) (I would love to see more do that during jams! :))
but I think that some soundfx would be a really big improvement ;) (that would give the story significant more impact ;))
great entry :)

Thanks for the glowing review, in my next game jam I will be sure to put more emphasis on audio.

I loved this! Very lovely. Thank you for sharing your poetry.

The presentation was wonderful, and the poem was very nice to read, I honestly don't enjoy walking simulators that much, but this was lovely

Developer

I figured I wanted to spend as little time as I can coding, and focus more on art, so a walking simulator was an easy choice I guess. Thank you for playing the game.

I always enjoy a story based game, and the art fits really well.

The only thing I can think off to improve is that I thought it was cutscene/dialogue at first and didn't understand that I can move. Maybe a WASD to move or something idk..

Well done!

Developer(+1)

I thought about drawing a little WASD tutorial on top of it, but I forgot about it in my hurry. Thanks for playing the game, I will check yours out too.

I always enjoy someone taking a different approach to these game jams and landing more on the artistic side of game design! I enjoy what you did and hope you are able to continue to build your skills to provide more explorative games in the future!

Good job!

I really liked the concept and the art. There are definitely things about your game that I feel can be elevated such has having music or even sound to accompany your writing. The black dot was cool, but I personally would of preferred a character of some sort to help immerse me more into the story. Definitely has the potential to be so much more!

Developer(+1)

Sadly, I couldn't get to the music in time. I actually made this whole game in about 6 hours cus I had 2 extra-long shifts at work during the game-jam. The black dot was really added in the last second cus I realized I didn't have a player model yet (lol).

Thank you for your kind words.

Interesting concept. I feel the art could have accompanied the text better, but overall it was a relaxing experience. I appreciated the poetry and the story, but I also feel it could have had a better ending. Overall a good experience for me!

Could not play the game. I guess you need to import the project in Godot, and run it from within the IDE. I really need an installer, an executable or a web version to play this. I'm sorry!

Developer

There is a web version of it posted. Have you looked inside the game's page? (https://cutipus.itch.io/on-the-bring-of-link )

It's different than the GMTK submission page.

Hey @Cutipus, thanks for the reply (I had the WebGL disactivated somehow).
Updated my votes to reflect the actual experience 👌

I like the idea of exploring a poem in an environment that informs the narrative. Cheers!
