I liked the game, but it glitched and nothing worked, :( I really liked the game though.

Love this concept, and the art feels really stylised!
My only complaint is that the actual platforming itself feels a little clunky at times.
Very well thought idea. Making movements tied to other character usually makes the game about looking at two screens and desync usually mean you play in turns. However combining the two mechanics together leads to many interesting interactions and player choices! I love it, great job :)
Nice concept and implementation. The level design needs more work for more clever moments where we have to enable one and disable the other. Also in the first level, towards the end, if both the characters are on the ground then we get stuck as none of the characters can move anywhere. Great job!
Awesome idea! I had a bit of trouble figuring out what was happening, but after that it was a nice experience!
Super awesome original idea with clever mind bending platforming puzzles! I love how the music was tied to which character you were controlling. The idea behind using your position in the "other" world to affect both character was super well executed and once you get in the rhythm of how to change between both it opens up amazingly! <3 Congrats on this! I am also a big fan of the art !!
I've seen this mechanic before but most of the time you have a lot less control over what your character can do, usually you can't deliberately de-sync them. This is the first time I've seen a game like this where it feels like there's multiple solutions, which I really like.
Also, the two music tracks together thing is really neat.
Hey kylebyte, thanks for streaming our game! It was awesome getting live feedback from watching you play. The first two levels were designed to be more in-sync to help teach mechanics, but that could've been communicated a lot better by us in-game. The last two levels were designed to be more de-sync heavy. Those two design principles might've caused that feeling of less control, since you spent a lot more time on the first two levels on stream. That's something we definitely made note of, so it was awesome to get to see that play out. Having multiple puzzle solutions is really cool for us as well.
Thanks again for streaming our game. If you plan on streaming other jam games, I highly encourage you to do so. Your feedback was really helpful to us, and I think others would love the feedback as well. I shared the vod with my team a little bit ago, I'm sure they'll appreciate it too :)
Really really cool, despite the movement being a bit clunky at times, the puzzles blew me away! Well done!
It's a bit difficult to work out what's going on at times, but, once you get it there's some really cool stuff you guys are doing here. Nice job!
I think that this game is a very interesting take on the trope of controlling two characters at once. The desync mechanic makes for some really neat puzzles, and I also liked how the music toggled depending on which characters were being controlled - it's a nice touch! Overall, great game!
Wow what a neat concept. took some time to get used to but was real fun. I loved the level select. Maybe have a hint about the multi direction dash ;) great music too!
Hey Simpathey, thanks for playing our game on stream, it was great to see live gameplay and feedback! I learned a lot of small, subtle things from watching your playthrough. In the first level, it encourages a straight dash. So, if I were to do a redesign, I think I would keep that, then add one or two other parts after that required (or at least, heavily encouraged) a diagonal dash. I think that would help players understand that the dash works in more than one direction, and could encourage them to experiment with it and learn the rest on their own.
I hadn't considered that the level select would be helpful if anyone got stuck and wanted to play other parts of the game. But in hindsight, I'm glad we included it so more people can try all of the levels if they want to.
I think positive reactions to the music has been one of our most universal, positive compliments. We're really glad everyone likes it, it's an awesome part of the experience!
Thanks again for streaming everything, watching everything live was awesome and we learned a lot about what could be done differently from watching you play. Keep doing what you're doing, we really appreciate it!
Really interesting take on moving two characters at once! Would love if you rated my game! https://outercloudstudio.itch.io/beat-link
A good take on a mechanic of controlling two characters at once that many people explored in this game jam. I like your version especially as it is fresh and allows for a lot of interesting experimentation, good job!
Very nince and fun. Took awhile to get controls going, but liked the consept a lot :) Great work
While to took me a while to understand the main mechanic, I has superfun exploring them. Especially the last few levels. It's a great use of the theme, with several ways to connect both sides. I see several ways to expand the design from here!
Really cool aesthetic. Keep working on the artstyle and it can be even better! I reviewed yours, make sure you return the favor! https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2021/rate/1081519
