ok, I went into the new shop thing where you can buy handles without ordering them, and I put them in the sell box to buy them. I closed the box, and shook it quite a bit while trying to figure out how to actually buy the items. Then I looked at the sale price, and it was -2,000$! Wat? Hmmmm ok. Plz fix. I think its because the game is sensing the items are leaving the box, but not sensing them come back in? I THINK this is version 0.0.82, but I could be wrong. Also, when I got a skill point, and I went to open up the menu, I couldn't see it because the charichter looked down past the upgrade paper. So have like ten unused upgrade points. Plz fix! One more small thing. The cart is INCREDIBLY glitchy. Currently the horse is leading the cart from what I would estimate to be 2 ft to the left of the bars that would normally be on either side, but it acts like the horse is centered somehow. Also, sometimes my horse randomly won't turn. It fixes if I play with it a bit, but its really annoying. Check into it?

P.S. I still LOOOOVE this game think its really cute. Keep up the good work

I press P to view my stats but the view goes way down to where i can't even level up now... i quit the game hoping it would reset it but it wont.

Great work so far! I love the game and I really enjoy what you have created so far. I currently became a patron and got the version 0.092c and something that is still present from old versions, it's whenever I put  the ores on the box and try to take out the ore out of the box and by accident pick up the box instead of the ores all what is inside bounces away so far from where I am, because of that it makes it hard to work with the boxes...

(1 edit)

I think there's copper ingots in the anvil.
So two ingots alone can make a two-handed sword.

It can not be made with three copper ingots or another charge.

I used a translation program because I was not good at English.

WOO bugs galore.

1.  Have the cart flipping out some.

2.  Calm it down by save loading.

3. Get temporarily slapped while saving (somehow)

4. Character now at angle and skates much more frequently than normal.

5. Spots that fix skating (sometimes); The furnace, the anvil, the cart wheel (kind of hard), the crate (by forcing it against yourself to get you to a none skating area and press space bar).

Hi, I've been playing the 0.0.82 release and have found a bug. After putting parts in the shopping crate at the parts shop and leaving, the parts attach to the crate and can't be removed, this has become quit the problem for me since I want to buy from the shop. However, reopening the game deletes the bugged crates and drops the items.

This problem's already been solved on the wiki but basically  the crates are bugged and might have been fixed in the recent update but just don't use the shop crates.

from what I'd heard about the new version (haven't played it yet) it shouldn't function quite the same

However.

It deals with how the Shopping Basket is Identified.

When you put items into the shopping basket, and only the SB, it calculates price - it isn't even entirely accurate and the slightest error (item removed and put back in) can cause the whole order to be labeled "stolen" (non-preventing in .82 - but in the future, "Stolen" will prevent customers from buying it, if I recall correctly)

The main "stuck" problem is because the item's Physics are "Locked" to the "Shopping Basket" - which has a closed lid (if you closed it, if you didn't, this doesn't even arise as a problem.)

When you take the "Shopping Basket" out of the store, it calculates the "deduction" listed on it (may be negative, thus granting you money) and changes the "Shopping Basket" into a "Crate" - Not even the same "Crate" as the (Player) "Crate" - Notably the "prompt" for opening and closing text- doesn't show up.

Because it is now "Crate" when you go to "open" it, The items physics are not returned. - Because you opened "crate".... Not "Shopping Basket"...

Yep. 'something along that line' is why it does this.

(Note: Names of items above are.... Not... exact? They're just names I've 'nicknamed' them for identification purposes, so to say.)

The Easiest ways around it if you intend to continue using his store is to just not close the basket, Carefully, very carefully, carry it out with everything, Then Close it.... However I don't recall if that will "lock them" so be ready for a physics tornado to possible form inside of the crate, which may potentially still eject them through the crate. - As I said

It becomes a "Crate" but not necessarily a (Player) "Crate" like the ones you spawn with.

Version 0.009c

Windows 7 64-bit, AMD FX-6300 Six-Core 3.5 GHz, 16 GB RAM, Radeon RX 470

1) Game randomly crashing, only noticed this when I'm taking heated ingots off of the forge

2) Ingots not persistent when inside boxes when you restart a game. I tried storing excess ingots in a box and upon restarting the game, they were gone. This does not effect raw ores.

3) Customers do not pay proper price for alloyed weapons. I made a brass dagger and when I sold it, it only sold for 18 c and when I inspected the bill of sale, the brass ingot was not paid for.

4)Items after they have been forged occasionally fall through the assembly table

5) Customers that order shields do not leave after their order is fulfilled. If you make their weapon and dismiss them, then they leave. Only after you have made and given them the shield do they just stand there. A fix I have found is saving the game after the order has been fulfilled, return to the main menu, and then restart the game.

I hope some of this helps, the game is really promising and very fun. Please continue to work on it!

@poza07

the newest version has some bugs with the customer. Your bugs are known and we work on a fix for it.

How to do a shield.

- grab a wooden log and place it on the wood workbench outside and choose the shield type you want. Press start cutting.

- Take the wooden part to the workbench inside.

- place 2 heated ingots of the same type on the anvil and sellect shields in the radial menu.

- Hammer the ingots until you get the rim part. If you hit the heated rim again you can go through all of them.

- Cool down the rim you need in the oil bath.

- Go to the workbench where your wooden part is and drop the rim on it. The parts should attach automaticly.

- go back to the anvil to make the boss and the 2 handles.

- Place 1 heated ingot on the anvil. Make sure its the same material as the rim.

- Select shields and start forging. After a few hits you should get the boss then the wrist enarmes and then the hand enames.

- Place all 3 parts on the shield and you should get the notification that you crafted a ..... shield

Torn about posting my bugs here or in a collection in a thread again....

1_ Felt it was odd to see an Ore vein and then it changed moments before I got to it (first excursion, it'd feel normal if it was closer to a conceivable cycle period)

2) Items (anywhere) are capable of being strongarmed through a physical object. I noticed this first with the house-wall behind one the shelves I, overjoyed with the katana/curved great blade - accidentally pushed it against the wall in intention of piling tons of them there, and forced it through (with minimal effort) - Luckily, it was not through the wall where the incinerator is - so I managed to keep it. I can see how this would tie into others claiming to have it drop through the workbench.

3) Wood Memory is still an issue. - I'm not sure I spawned in with it being rare, but I recalled it being Rare when I took note of it and put it on the new table - eventually I got off without messing with the wood, and now I'm getting back on for the first time after serious gameplay, and immediately noticed that it was now "common" and not only that, it was at 40% - Which is impossible for me to have done as I do not yet possess an Axe.

4) I do not know about new map areas, nor if the Light Crystal/protection was moved - But it didn't spawn on the Not-Master-Sword pedestal - However the shield was back, yaaay. (Back as in I don't recall it making a comeback in 8, not back as in respawned, It's still where I left it)

5) I appreciate the second larger home being "usable" even though its "not for sale" (at least if it's buyable, I haven't gotten there yet) - However. I assume since it is "NFS" that it's not supposed to still be usable yet. - Well it is. So I'm making a note of it here, for now.

6) One can still cause themselves to be shot across the map through Physics based propellants - It's not as "simple" to do anymore, You're not going to fly on a magic carpet ride with your weapon blueprint scroll - But certain objects can still cause it, I should know, I shot myself from the mine over onto a mountain top by accident.  It was performed with a crate full of ore and one (or more) crystals.

7) Oh right. The most important bug I ran into that I can think of. - When I booted up, The game remembered my previous version save - that's fine and all but I wanted to start a fresh game, So I clicked new game (bug also possible with clicking main menu) - - - It tried to take me to the main menu, and froze just before the screen fishing "coming in" (It kinda fades in from darkness? I think? half-faded in, it stops) - Preventing a new game or main menu from finishing - had to delete relevant save info, as well as force-close app and restart it, to properly get a "new game" - It runs fine if I boot it, main menu, start playing - it bugs out if I try to go back to the main menu after being in game. - It's possible to be something wrong with the 64bit version or my download/install of the game - I haven't tested for that.

I'll get back at a later point with anything else I find.

Nvm. found the new Light crystal church location after I took a moment to explore after encountering the above mentioned "stay x" and no customer bug. - quitting to add this and see if that clears it.

Also found that stray tin ingot, cheeky cheeky... me likey. Now I just need to get enough for a pick still... Not sure if intentional - but When you're in water, you gradually (quickly) lose all momentum you may have had and eventually start being extremely slow... I darted into the water full speed, had a good bit of speed in water/coverage, by the time I was halfway from where I landed and the shore - I was essentially crawling at a snails pace.

Map leading up to a mountain side that makes it possible to reach Ironwill King is... either possible.. or not possible enough...

I can't tell if it was intended to get up there - although he will say something if you get close enough so I imagine it is supposed to be possible

But part of that mountain side is non-physical, and part of it is. (white non physical and the one brown/tan rockface exposed in the middle is.... Although I guess I'm not sure that's actually the proper way to reach the king (this is a face near the "Quarantined Castle" and horse.

also 8) Wood logs and Horse still have XYZ markers exposed

I question if the Stray Tin Ingot and OneH grip are intended to be the "Not Mastersword"... The Church has a peek towards the area I found them, and they're off the beaten path in a direction that lies similar to the pedestal.... Is there supposed to be a blade style and type that can actually fit the hole in the pedestal and "do" something? I mean, That chest was awfully "DO DO DOOO DOOOOO" kinda way.. I mean. The mechanics are thus there for a "Trigger" activated by the player to actually.....

I'm digressing.

Anyway.

Small Edit not going to scratch out anything previous

Found out it was possible to sorta "scale" the mountain right beside the king (rather easily)

So I assume that the other location (near the castle further away) is not intended as the way up to him, and is instead, a point in which the player can manage to scale a part of the map onto the top of a mountain range which may or may not be able to get them to other inaccessible parts - and may or may not cause issues.

9) Geoffrey sells "One hand Guard v1" and the scroll sells one hand guard v1 - But they're two different guards.

I'm guess the guy who came earlier to my shop wanted Geoff's version since I only got a 10% bonus which happened the previous time when I only got one part right (I thought I had everything right this time vs 1 out of 2 or 3 conditions)

I imagine it is supposed to actually be "One Hand Guard vG" or "v4" (G for Only at geoffreys :l )

Wow I'm flippin blind. I just realized there's also a "One Hand Guard v3" which looks similar, but not exactly like, the "One Hand Guard v2" from previous versions and the scroll -

Image will expire in 31 days

Version 1 is the bars looking one (Originally)

but v1 is also the mustache/moon looking one (Bought at Geoffs)

V2 is the one with the needle tipped silver segment (Originally)

V3 is the disc shaped one (originally)

V3 is also the full-gray, slightly smaller/differing shape/angles one that looks like v2 (Geoff)

Oh ho hooon.... Zat chest may actually be bugged or not.. I dunno. I just went back to get the handle with all the crystals in a crate cause I wanted to explore and see if the crystals did anything.

Found a new tin ingot, a mitril ingot, and handle (after opening the chest a new, and they seemed to "spawn" after it was open cause I didn't see white and red peeking through.

I can see how it could be intentional - A small little gift for those who explored and roughed the pain and a half it takes to get to it.... but I dun think its really supposed to be as I've found it.

Issue 10) Strength leveling doesn't actually seem to work... hard to say for sure. but It sure doesn't feel like its working.

And I've checked the "feel" by cheating for more points - Agility works, but Strength doesn't seem to take off even one swing, let alone 500 strength worth (I just kept pouring them on after I tried figuring out if my legit points were doing anything) still takes several swings, with Titanium Hammer. (As I said  - said rare lootz zelda like chest off the ways - respawns - Which I don't think is intended. - don't get me wrong. I love that you added it, I love loot, Loot loot loot. Honestly I wish there were more of them hidden around the place, like for instance maybe on the roof of the shop hint hint nudge nudge (cause its possible to get onto the roof of the shop quite easily, btw.)

I'm digressing - but if you wanted to "fix" the chest and make them like, single spawn, and like hide one near the king, near geoffs, where the current one is, near the second shop/hill building, in the mines, etc etc - That'd be great. - you could ... well no you couldn't hide one lower on the map level because there'd be no good way to get it back to store... since Items that come with you when you "fall off" and get "respawned" at the church don't make it back up... - Though Maybe it could be a "risk reward" kinda thing and there could be a sign saying "If you want this loot, You'll have to throw it back up. Aim carefully!"

AAauuggh.. Freaaaking still digressing.

Anyway. Strength doesn't seem fully operational.

Issue 11) I've seen several ingots from said chest spawn with a grip (Chest has a chance for 2 random ingots, or 1 ingot and 1 one hand grip, by the looks of it) the grip spawns half way in the ingot because the ingots are set to spawn reallyl reallly close to each other, but the grip is.. wider.. taller? larger in diameter? than an ingot - and thus collides, causing the ingot to explode out from the chest.

Needless to say. This is entirely random where it ends up going. - It can be shot off towards the water - which I have not tested yet whether it would "live" going into the water (sink to the floor?) - However. I imagine it'd wind up like the other part of this issue.

The Ingots can phase through the rock-face (inconsistently). There's nothing more heart-wrenching when you open a chest, see a dark-blackish ingot fly out of it and go "HOLY SHIT TITANIUM?!" only to watch it phase through the ground as you  scramble to try and click it.....

Nothing...

Heartwrenching...

Until you realize the chest respawns. and Get over it.

I know the invisible customer has already been mentioned

I know the bronze sale price has been mentioned.

I haven't attempted/managed to get a customer for the above mentioned Bronze price though - by this I mean I'm experimenting with them.

Normally you combine Tin and Copper to get bronze, However.

If you stick Bronze ingots or parts back into the smelter, thanks to the smelt-down addition.

It looks to spawn bronze ore (not confirmed, just looked like it) and then resmelts that down into new ingots.... Which I have tried selling yet.

I want to see and will update with either strike-through or results - if Bronze registers if it's been resmelted into ore and then new ignots direct from their specific ore - and if this applies for brass and steel too.

I also know that it's been mentioned that a closed crate containing ingots upon save and reload - also deletes the ingots and only the ingots, dunno why only the ingots, but only the ingots... to which I say... Nothing is more heart wrenching when inspecting a crate full of nothing but handles... after you know you also put the second spawned titanium in said crate......... Nah j/k I was already over it when I realized it, I mean I kicked myself for it - I knew it before doing it that it was reported.

Issue 12) Placing many completed long swords into a crate gets weird.

I made likee.. 9 blades in an attempt to find the "Not mastersword" for the pedestal and dumped them one by one into a crate I'd placed by my workbench, and closed the crate.

When I went to grab it, It kinda freaked out a little, and when I moved it away, two swords fell out of the box, I say fell, but they simply didn't "come" with the box, floating there in mid air.

It was at this time that I dropped the box a bit aways and grabbed at these swords, fearful of Geoff'shopping basket 2.0.. they were fine.

The crate however. was not. - It came to my attention that I could not open the crate to put the swords back in... I couldn't get to the swords inside the crate at all.

after some jumbling and forcing a sword through the box, I managed to unlock the crate.. and... my worst fear came to be true.....

Geoff's shopping basket 2.0... alllllllll of the other swords were glued to the crate. - But... I could actually still touch them.

And after a LOT of tweaking and shifting, I managed to one by one, get the crate to recognize something was inside the crate, close, and then open it again. releasing the swords one by one.....

There are... Other.. instances similar to this... but not the same.

12A- Instance one is carrying an empty, open crate through the woods. - At times it lights up its text and says there's actually something present inside the crate, it can be closed (click to close lid, or whatever) - One of these areas was near aforementioned Chest.

12B There was /several/ instances of closing crate near said chest, and the items and crate acting "strange" when moving them or moving around with them. Sometimes the crate even seemed to float and rotate away from where I was holding it at. - Shifting view to try and keep up only seemed to worsen it until randomly or enough viewshifting, caused it to go "Oh shit I'm not right, reset" and it'd go back to normal for a while...

Managing to keep the box closed in this condition and getting it home was followed by opening it and its contents exploding around the place, so forcefully that the crate shot off and away from under the forge overhang, along with a few of the pieces that were in the crate.

Hello.

I'm playing the Alpha 0.0.9 version of the game and I can't seem to load my old save: it just lets me start from day 1. I've checked the save file from the location and it's there. Does the game bug out, or do I have to do something on my end?

That's strange.. but I'd have to assume it deals with something you have present in your save verse being an old save.

Perhaps some items were in places that would be overrode with new objects, and couldn't be purged or moved so it considered the save corrupt.

Most alphas force players to start over every time.

This isn't necessarily the case here - as when I downloaded 9 the first time, I was greeted with my most recent restart save from 0.0.82 which was like day 27 that time around.

This is why I state it must be something specific of your save, and that causes it to not load.

But honestly, you'll probably want to restart anyway.

There's some new areas (no mining I don't think)  - And the return of the shield on the pedestal - not sure if it can be sold or what - There's not a "whole lot" of gain from restarting really, but it'll probably feel better

There's,... Some things that will help immediately throw you to the top if you're lucky....

like... Almost giving you the best metals.

I may have talked about this elsewhere...

Thanks for the tips!

But by ''old save'' I ment 1 day old save, since I ''bought'' the game a couple days ago; Started playing the game, when it was version 9. But since the save loading works fine for you, I guess the problem's on my end.

I'll try to do something about it while waiting for some miracle-post telling me how to fix it.

So Your save is version 9 but it forgets it the next time around? everytime?

May want to try running in administrative mode if you can - since the save goes to users/appdata - There may be some restrictions in place to prevent it for permanently saving there....

That's the biggest thing I can think of off the top of my head.

Other that that maybe some kinda other method of folder restriction that prevents it from writing or permanently being written to.... perhaps check folder options and such... I can't imagine how some of these more vital folders could function, possibly being read only, but I mean. if they could manage to function being read only, and were in read only, that would be something that could prevent saving/writing to the necessarily location...

Fixed it.

I went to the save folder and manually deleted both files. It seems that the game refreshed it saving function? maybe I just got unlucky the first time saving, and the save file got corrupted somehow?

I mean... it's possible. Lots of things really are possible.

For instance it's possible to accidentally shove items through physical bounds/objects... I can't imagine what might happen if an item was saved whilst inbetween boundaries - I've seen, for example, a Katana blade/curved greatsword blade, fall halfway into the workbench with the most minimal amount of it sticking out, at one point, it was entirely inside the bench, not one ounce of it was exposed....

I eventually worked it out, but what happens if its something you don't even realize exists, that spawned and fell into something it shouldn't have, and then you save/exit?

But anyway. Glad to hear it's "working" now. - Hopefully, by the sound of other recent reports, it stays working and doesn't fall back off the deep end....

When i first installed the new 0.0.9 version, my horse was there, but i wanted to start over and made a new game but my horse and carriage was gone. every time i try to start a new game they never appear. is there a solution?

I have the same problem. and no idea to fix it

(1 edit)

In this version whenever i'm trying to play its taking up all of my CPU's processing power. Its causing the game to lag quite a bit. my cpu is an intel core i5-7600K @ 3.8GHz. I have tried it on minimal and maximum settings and its still the same.

Ok, nevermind. After tabbing in and out a few times and changing the graphics settings multiple times it stopped... weird.

v0.0.9c

Sometimes I cannot hammer anything that is on the anvil. I can chop trees/logs and mine but hammer wont swing on the anvil. Happened few times with copper hammer but more frequently with tin hammer. Everything else works with left mouse button but not anvil hitting. I have no idea how this problem comes, I just notice that I cant hammer. Usually quitting the game and coming back helps but not last time. It doesn't matter what you choose to do on the anvil or what ingots you have on it.

Also an issue with if you make bronze tools, customers will come asking for any type of material weapons/shields (for example titanium or adelite). But if dont have any alloy material tools, they only ask that material or lower.

System specs:
I5-4690k
GTX 970
16 gb RAM
Windows 10

Customers asking for Titanium will accept anything you give them, provided it is a lower quality (and price range within their budget) than Titanium.

Example

Customer asks for Adelite Greatsword

You already have an Iron Greatsword on hand.

You can hand them the iron Greatsword, You won't get a "Customer Type" (Customer's Type) bonus

You cannot, however, Exceed their price range. If they ask for Copper, You must give them Copper, They cannot afford Tin or better - Logically.

Example again - 1 Titanium ingot is 100 gold, If they ask for a Titanium Greatsword - They're prepared to spend around abouts 400gold give or take.

They can afford anything under 400 gold.

If they ask for Iron Greatsword - which is like... ridiculously less than that, They won't be able to afford even a Titanium dagger, Let alone a more expensive greatsword - heck they probably can't even afford an Adelite dagger.

hmmm..... Maybe I'm wrong on that. Ugh... I dunno. So much confusion between my first save and my second save now.

Literally had the "Adelite" great(hammer) customer - But he refused even Copper.

I suppose maybe if they specify to the detail "grip - head type" they absolutely won't accept a metal that isn't the type listed? - Or maybe there was some kinda quirk in the code on my first save that was letting me selling  (example: Adamantine Instead of requested Titanium)? I dunno. I guess just ignore my post unless it's helped you in some way.

(1 edit)

Double ignore.

If they just say "Type" "Item" - and nothing else. You can serve them up whatever.....

Unless Bronze is Higher than Adelite....... Which maybe it is somehow coded higher because having Brass, Bronze or Steel makes it so (insert Metal level/max?) can be purchased? ugh. I dunno.

Anyway.

Had a customer ask for Mithril One hand Hammer, Nothing specific past that,

Sold him an Adelite One Hand Hammer - cause I didn't have enough Mithril... (that's a lie, I could've smelted down a sword i'd just made... but I didn't want to...) He took it and paid/left

Edit - ignore the bronze higher than adelite - forgot I tried to pass off a Copper replacement for the Adelite one previously, which is definitely lower. So I'm just being stupid at this point.

If they go "Mithril one hand hammer, with an uncommon grip, and a mace head" They will /not/ accept Adelite/copper (comparison, replace mithril one hand with Adelite great, and adelite/copper with bronze/copper and I've "verified" that rejection

If they go "Mithril One hand hammer" They, as I just verified, will accept "Adelite one hand hammer"

Probably go ahead and make a second one, don't wanna keep it going back to an old page eventually if I wanna use the area to report them...

Anyway.

Issue 13 - There's a spot in the map where the floor is missing, You can fall through this area.

Its hard to describe the location though, as there's no real specific markers or names for these locations.

But I assume.

The Door, at the back corner of the map, which is between Church and "Current" mine - I assume, is another, planned mine, and is a closed door just for now. I assume.

Anyway.

Near /this/ door, somewhere along the Mountain line on that side of the path - That hole exists.

Issue 14 - Gold Still can zero out when met with too much funding.

Suggested Solution, Have another currency that titanium sales can't even really hope to max out

because it kinda seems like "about 20x titanium (2000 gold) give or take a couple pieces = too much money congrats now you got none" - Which isn't hard to reach at all.

Having some way to store Money in a separate data-field, purchase other items that can be sold for equivalent cash, or making it so "about 20x titanium" is but a drop in the bucket of "max cash capacity"... Is pretty necessary.

Issue 15. - Not really sure its an issue or what.

The Heater Shield located at the Sword Pedestal - It's rim and handles are copper, its a heater shield/wood, but has no Boss - You /can/ give it a boss, you can remove its handles, but not its rim, In none of these ways, Can it be sold. - I dunno if that's intentional, like it has something to do with triggering the whatever to whereever, however.

But....

The actual issue.

Issue 16... - After futzing with said shield, Perhaps before too but I can only verify after ("After futzing" = removed the two handles, Put the two handles back on, and then added a boss)

the Shield can be used for Magic Carpet rides much like items of the past. - I dunno to what extent, Just that when I pulled it towards me, It smacked me, and pushed me back, Then I tried to whip around to try and see if I could pawn it on a customer, and it tossed me into the bedroom, with my vision turned upwards (non broken, just seemed like it caused a spike of lag and exaggerated my movements) - I'm 92% sure as of writing this that It does what I actually say it does  (Magic carpet ride,, I.e, can stand on it, pull it towards you, and begin to fly in the air, with slight movements enabling directional momentum) - but - I didn't actually test for it, Was busy at the time and then I vaguely recall screwing something up by trying to be slick about resolving an issue and the game decied "Nah. Screw you, I'm frozen" and then decided "What, staring at frozen visuals aint good enough for you? F you (black screens)"

anywho.

Still ain't gotten the chance to sell alloys that have been resmelted. Will probably scrap this save and make a new one since My coin chest now reads 0, again...

(2 edits)

interesting... I started anew and the shield at the alter is now.... Iron...? looking.. maybe steel...However.. My copper hammer cannot smack off the handles this time....

Does maybe "Initial spawn" start it as "just an object"

but then saving and reloading maybe turns it into a "Shield with no defined ingots, with a hand grip and wrist grip"? that it then automatically makes Copper because its undefined?... Cause honestly, I didn't really remember it being copper looking in the first place either, I only remember seeing the copper every other time I paid attention to it, which was after reloads...

Or has it been made that you need a hammer of quality or better to break down items, to allow for giving of "better items" than hammer, which would have to be turned away (can't be repaired/dismantled) or just "can't be dismantled into something that the player can exploit" (Note, the first part is a "this is kinda just introduced thing" for the event of possible repair in the future - not saying there's actual repairs in current version (which I do not know if there is or isn't, but I haven't seen it))

Is it also possible the heater shield is randomized?

Edit - Note: the shield pre-boss, pre-reload as it spawned immediately after a fresh start, not even 1 day of rest - Is non-physical, I can't smack myself at all, I can't walk on it, I can't pull it into myself, or anything.  And I literally just started so I have no way yet of testing for "Post-boss"

edit 2- Reloading Converts the Iron-y looking Heater shield into a Copper, physical shield - Confirmed. I went off to get crystals and all the loots and stuff to bring back, had a save and reload in the meantime - and came back - I can now walk ontop of the shield, its rim is distinctly copper looking, not chrome/iron looking.

and I can. Indeed, Stand on it, and grab, and levitate into the air, like a magic carpet.

So I guess "shield with no physical/defined ingots" is quite likely to be the "fact" for that, and reload looks at it in the file and reads "No defined ingot? the fudge? Uhhh... I guess I'll just make it copper... "

Finally tested selling a Double-smelt Bronze (created a bunch of bronze via combining tin and copper - then REsmelted the created bronze (to produce "cooled Bronze ore" in the smelter) into new bronze ingots and attempted to make items - A customer finally asked for "A greathammer" no specificity  - Prompted pawned a Bronze one on him and he paid 18copper (the handle)

So Yeah. Busted that Idea. Alloy still just priceless - Best to just use them for your own tools in order to mine higher and sell stronger metals.

Though... I suppose the problem may still be that its Bronze... Even though Bronze is a much more amazing metal than tin alone... I could see how /maybbbee/ a particular person might go "But balance" and "you're just going to skip Tin, Iron /etc tiers if you get tin and then make bronze items!" and maybe Steel and/or Brass have values... I've still never had enough Steel or Brass on hand at any given time to have the necessary requested item - and for it to be specifically requested...

Like I've tried pawning Steel or Brass (or bronze) on a say, titanium/adamantine, request. Didn't fly, at least, not that I can remember.

And when they ask for "A" something - and not "metal" something - It's almost always a 3-ingot item, and never at a time I have anything to try - Bronze is easy enough once you have tin/money - but "a" is rare among rare.

It has occurred to me that the moments in which a customer is asking for "a"/"That" (no metal type) "weapon"

That they're actually probably asking for "Brass" "Bronze" or "Steel" - Which seem "high enough" on the "metal" "tiers" when you equip their hammer to allow customers to ask for things like Adelite and Mithril (I currently have a Steel Hammer, and have been getting at least Mithril Requests)

I just attempted to Pawn a Steel Dagger (finally a dagger request which I can easily provide Brass or Steel for) for a "Make me a dagger please!" - And he won't accept it.

This is why It's occurred to me that maybe they don't request "blank" metals at all, and that the Brass, Bronze, and Steel requests are simply as incomplete/broken as their prices. - and in reality - I've just been "underlevel" of a "requested type" thus able to sell.. not "random type"

Momentarily will attempt Brass first - Which I will assume to be the Lowest of the three alloys, and then Bronze, if I still have the chance, To see if either of these two grant "type" bonus - and/or Sell.

If he accepts Brass, but no type bonus, and Brass is indeed the lowest quality alloy (which I can't say it is for sure) - Then that means it must've been Bronze.... cause otherwise I don't see why NPCs would accept literally anything else I can currently provide for these, but not Steel - which I assume to be the highest.

(1 edit)

He accepted Brass, But still refused Steel - No Specificity or Type Bonus - So I have to assume based on that, He was asking for Bronze dagger - and the game simply couldn't actually allow him to say "Bronze" and that that determines what level of metal tier is "acceptable"  - likely based on what Customers can ask for/you can mine for with said Alloys.... pretty sure brass was able to mine up to Iron... Dunno about Bronze, Steel can clearly sell up to at least Mithril.

For the random reader - "Type" bonus seems to be generated any time you accomplish an order with the "requested type" of Metal.

Example - Iron greatsword - "Customer type" - - - - 5 silver (Subtotal was about 30silver, grand total was 40silver~)

Copper Greathammer -  customer type -- - - 5 copper (Subtotal was about 44copper grand total was 59 copper)

However on a one hand hammer request (no type that i could see) I sold a mithril mace - for 2g and some change (subtotal and total, but more) - And gained no Type bonus, Which I assumed/chalked up to the fact they didn't request a type.

BBBuuuuttt...

Now that I had a Request for "Dagger" no type

And couldn't pawn a Steel Dagger on them, but could pawn Brass, with no customer type bonus still

It wouldn't make much sense for "No type" to reject "any" type, let alone specifically steel.

Thus I must assume I was getting no "type bonus" because the NPC was actually Requesting an Alloy name which is registered "above" the metal I was presenting at any given time - and since I didn't provide that alloy - I got no bonus.

Now I guess I'll need to make sure I have Steel, Bronze, and Brass on hand in at least 3 ingots - so I can go Steel -> Bronze -> Brass and see if I get a type bonus and what that bonus is the next time someone asks with "no type" listed...

Also just had an Adamantine Request with Steel hammer/Mithril Pick. - So. Uh. Yeah. It goes up to at least that.... Might have to go and find some more coal veins and just equip a steel pick... since I'm clearly using an inferior pick...

There is a bug then making steel alloy

if you put more carbon ore then iron in, the carbon will disappear (it still show the animation of casting an ingot)

Didn't feel like trying to figure out how I wanted to do this.

Update on Strength Bug/number 8 10 or whatever...

Okay. So i've gone WAAAAAYYYY overboard... on cheating this time.

I gave myself 5000 Strength (Rest assured, It is "properly applied" - If you don't properly apply points, They don't register, including Agility - So you always need to properly apply them - just having 5000 strength means nothing if the game didn't register the "improvement") (Anyway)

I've given myself 5000 as opposed to the previous 500 of my previous save.

So there's a few variables here.

Variable 1, Its a fresh save

Variable 2 - Its 5000 points vs Constantly messing with/adding more points 500

DO now hit and create items in one hit I do not know exactly How many points it required to make the difference of a single swing. - But with a Steel Hammer, and 5000 strength, I know create them in one hit.

Previous save and anywhere from 100-500 (maybe upwards to 1000) didn't seem to do squat diddly.

But now. Registered progress/success

Anywho.

Update to the Update.

on save and reload - 5k was no longer enough strength.

and increasing it another 1k didn't do squat.

I'll have to try and finagle (Wow i have literally been spelling that wrong like, my entire life.... Course.. I never knew how to spell it in the first place and didn't think it was a real word/more than slang - but hey!) with it again to see if I can alleviate that issue....

Also My computer did something weird and the game ended up getting closed before I saved so I dunno what the next result of "reload" will bring.

Update 3. four.. 9.. a billion.

Strength will die if you reload at all. I'm guessing it "breaks" permanently until you reset it manually in the same session - explaining why normally leveling up didn't seem to work, and why even pouring hundreds of stats onto it didn't seem to work.

It needs to be applied all at once to count, and needs to start from fresh - if you save and reload, it'll need to be reset again and started from fresh, again.- But - It won't need billions of points to do it. It just has to be all at one time, in the same sesh

Shield Update

Shield Wood breaks if not completed, I believe. Not entirely too sure on the specifics of this one yet.

but - If you make wood pieces but don't furnish them - save, and reload, they seem to be just as magical carpet ride as the Sword Pedestal's shield will get - AND

You cannot combine them with parts - or at least, Not RIMS... Everything else seems to work fine - Actually, I remember now I saw someone on a Youtube video with that issue.

He thought because he made the wood in the previous version, it was broke

but in reality

It was because he made a few of them, and then saved, updated, and reloaded thus, They were broken because of the reload, not version. - Which is what I'm faced with now - Same version, still broke, cause of reload, I'm only just now figuring out because I've only just now gotten a shield request for something I had.

I had already noticed they had become physical before hand - even tested them, but I didn't feel it was enough to report the bug because I didn't realize they couldn't be finished.

Update to Alloy

Seems to just all be borked - I'm 99% sure the customer I had was asking for Steel (no type given) and I supplied it, but still lacked any satisfying result.

The ingots weren't counted, no price, no bonuses, and most of all, The customer type bonus was not present, not that I can imagine it would be enough to make up for it.

Can still manage to sell Pretty much anything Adamantine or lower usually when they request "no type"

edit - crate update

Both Created crates, and spawned crates - delete ingots if left closed on save/reload.

(spawned currently equal presents - So I tested if wood crates did it too with all my spare bronze, brass, and Steel, since I wasn't losing much. - still cleared (obviously I had to reload since I just talked about a shield earlier))

Note: LEFT CLOSED. They won't delete ingots if they're sitting in an open crate

However.

If A crate detects items inside, It will automatically lid, so don't save and reload twice in a row if you are trying to store ingots for easier movement.

I do not know the entire details of "Automatically lidded" - As when you go to interact with it, It "fails" the first time - as if you're actually closing it cause it was last left on "open", and then you open it with the second interaction.

Going to consider this a bug and add it here.

The Present crate's sides - are very "thin" and it stands a few hairs taller than the old wooden crate

Thus.

They hold more Material, Which is great.

However.

That means the Wood crates hold less, And is not great, as you can only make wood crates, with very thick side-walls, and standing a bit shorter than the present, for a massively reduced interior/locking space. - And that also implies that if they're not changed and reverted back to that later on (the present crates) then the player will lose that additional space that they've now been acquainted with and become accustomed to.

Okay... so...

It kiiiiiinndda looks like "Assembled items break on reload" is still kinda a bug... I dunno. I honestly ain't sure when they break, I swore one or two times I reloaded, they worked, but definitely not this time.

Had a bunch of iron swords I'd made spamming swords against the sword pedestal that didn't have a reaction, So I tossed em up on the shelves - but hadn't had a sword request since that time, always bigger or smaller, or, not a sword.

But this time I had "Iron one hand sword" .. with like 8 swords in front of him.. I took a couple and held them up to his face with no reaction from his looking or anything, went back, dismantled one, reassembled it with all the same pieces, and out he went, purchasing it immediately.

So...

Seems like at least these ones, Broke.

Also did I mention that when you create a shield, its non solid, if yo reload its solid.

However. If you create a shield, non solid, and Put a rim on it, It seems to immediately become solid, no reload required

A completed shield definitely becomes solid, capable of flying carpet rides.

Well.

I am mentioning it now. there. I mentioned it.

Oh. I'm in the process of testing Coal and Iron >.>...

My smelter ate a piece of coal because I swiped it too close to the front by accident when pulling it from the ore pile to add to the fuel side.

Nonedit edit - Result - Coal is eaten by the smelter- - - as it, I guess, Acts like the ore that comes from it, Carbon ore, but once it gets smelted, it isn't carbon, so it doesn't combine with iron, Only pops a non-existent coal/carbon bar, and wastes it.

So that's a bug.

I wouldn't personally mind if you just used coal as carbon - since it is essentially the same - but - It doesn't work as it is.

Perhaps.

Its a really massive monstrous bug too.

Perhaps Coal has the triggers of "auto-smelt" (Have it in the furnance, turn furnace on, and it will automatically start smelting it, no need to have it on and insert it after. - Which Carbon must have done.)

and Carbon has all the triggers to combine or be resmelted.

But.

more importantly....

Coal may be eaten from the fuel... not saying/sure it is, YET but it might explain why it felt like the amount of coal I had got used too fast at times... Perhaps even when saving/reloading, it might get lodged in the boundary and then eaten by the smelter

(1 edit)

looks like there's places in the shop where you can get stuck... Gonna try slipcor's 0.0.82 player rotation reset thingy and hope for the best, not too terribly worried as it stands for losing out though, was kinda already back at titanium.. pretty easy to do with dat chest.

But yeah, Specifically. The posts are now more solid, but the player and often times get caught on them, and eventually, if immediate action isn't taken, slide into them enough to /really/ need to take action, and then, shortly after, Be stucked, seemingly hoisted off the ground enough that there's no traction

Reloading doesn't help - unless you haven't saved since getting stuck, which often won't be the case cause auto save when youopen menu after certain events/intervals.

Oh

You can make a Customer who wants a shield to go the eff away too, btw.

However.

Only if you do it "right"

You have to only supply them with either a shield, or the weapon, Then dismiss them. They won't give you back the item they've taken, but they will pay for it and only it.

You can get away with supply them with awesome shields worth 5-6 ingots worth (bonuses) of a great metal - and with, since usually they won't ask for a specific type of shield, only weapon - like a copper hammer and a round shield - package them a mithril shield and say "GTFO of my shop" and boom, You sold a handful of Mithril despite the pitiful request.

And you won't have to reload to get rid of them.

Plus in the event of Titanium... It's better to do this as you're very very likely to zero out your funds if you sell a 3ingot titanium weapon and a 5 ingot titanium shield.

Edit - Not sure if the Game fixed my position... or if the save fixer did... The save fixer probably did? I mean. the world is bigger.. so it stands to reason the position information may be slightly off due to that.

when I tried to get unstuck before, I only tried to switch to sandbox, move a bit, and switch back, remained stuck.

Obviously when I run Slipcor's fixer, I have to exit, which I didn't do previously.. I dunno if that fixed, but running the save fixer didn't "bork everything into a living hell" in game. and I was definitely not stuck after save fixer and restarting the game (But I wasn't in bedroom, I was near the middle of the yard in back, between gate, oil, and delivery zone)

found a new bug that required me being an a##hat to Geoff.

Stolen items can be cleansed of their status by assembling them into a complete weapon, and this unassembling them back to components

(Or - - - Or at least the new guards, Will check later by stealing more of his stuff to see if it applies to grips - Grips are probably the most questionable one, As once a guard is attached to a grip - it loses its identity and the "grip" is all that is seen from that point on, So grips will be the first one I check after this - at minimum, Guards do until I post otherwise)

Grips look like they remain stolen because they don't lose their Identity on combination. Guards however. do.

Stolen Guard + Stolen Grip -> Dismantle -> Guard + Stolen Grip

Stolen Guard + Grip -> Dismantle -> Guard + Grip

Guard + Stolen Grip -> Dismantle -. Guard + stolen grip

Sword + Stolen Guard + Stolen Grip -> dismantle -> sword, guard, stolen grip

So if there's a way to make the grip momentarily forget itself, It would likely clear the status, but otherwise, grips = hard to steal - everything else = easy peasy basically forgets regardless. - i.e I'm not even sure it remembers its stolen even if you don't dismantle it - since you can't even see "Stolen" before dismantling, because you only see the grip, and the grip wasn't stolen.

Major Bugo

Geoff can be broken, badly.

I can see how it slipped by - Most would think "oh there's no crate here, I need to carry this delivery box out of the shop" before breaking it

But.

If you break it in the shop because you were already stealing other items, and thus had a crate inside his shop

The Calculator for what you owe him will go flipping nuts.

I just bought an entire store floor for zero copper, Well. Everything but the poles. Actually made money off of it too. - I think it gave me the poles I had added in return gold, and doesn't have the ability to show negative value... managed to buy 6 poles for like 48 copper at one point... not sure entirely what all it remembers in pricing, if its a total opened in shop thing, or what.
